Pah!!!

Ada landed on the ground. He lifted his right hind leg and smelled his body, feeling relieved after making sure he didn’t smell the scent of saliva.

By the time he raised his head and looked at the stony mountain, he couldn’t help but feel astonished.

Back when he came to the hermit peaks to play, he had checked this stony mountain many times; but…when had the Dead Dog changed his preference for food?

These swordsmen of Green Mountain had no energy of heaven and earth left in them, but some sword wills still remained in their blood, muscles and bones. They should be nutritious…but doing so violated the rules of Green Mountain!

Ada shot an indignant glance at the Dead Dog, thinking that he was behaving brazenly after Yuan Qijing passed away.

The Dead Dog didn’t know anything about the Two-Mind Connection, so he had no idea what was on the mind of this cat. He walked to the side of the stony mountain and started digging with his front paws; soon, he had dug a deep pit.

A corpse of the monster of the Snowy Kingdom was buried in the pit. Judging from the surface of the corpse, this monster had a very high state.

Ada strolled to the edge of the pit and took a look down the pit. He meowed once in disdain.

The Dead Dog narrowed his eyes a little, wondering why Ada disliked such tasty stuff he had set aside. After some thought, the Dead Dog went to another spot and dug out another corpse.

This was the corpse of a swordsman of the Underworld. His soul fire had been burned into crystal, so it was unclear if it was still tasty; and yet, eating it was beneficial to the Cultivation practitioners.

Ada’s eyes looking at the Dead Dog with sympathy and pity.

He thought that he had been eating delicious foods and drink wonderful wines, and he could also step on…tsk, tsk; the Dead Dog must have lived a terrible life by eating this sort of food.

The Dead Dog glanced at him in confusion.

Ada meowed once to indicate that he was not hungry anymore.

The Dead Dog lowered his head without a second thought and ate a half of the corpse of the Underworld swordsman. After that, he buried the rest of the corpse of the Underworld swordsman carefully as well as the corpse of the monster of the Snowy Kingdom.

Day arrived.

Night fell.

Day arrived again.

Night fell again.

The sword lights stopped flashing.

The pits were dug open.

They were then filled up.

They were dug open again.

They were filled again.

All the corpses were eaten.

The dust kept falling off the stone monument on the top of Tianguang Peak; but the intervals of falling grew longer.

The Green Mountain disciples left the peak top and later came back, bringing some fruits for their masters.

The immortal masters of Green Mountain were not afraid of hunger, but they couldn’t bear boredom.

Crouching inside the Dead Dog’s mouth and looking out at the distant sky through the dog teeth that looked like the stone-posts, wondering why he was not allowed to get out since the outcome of the fight had been already determined.

A white cloth was fluttering slightly in the sky, which looked much more appealing than those clouds.

Jing Jiu landed in the mountains and bent down to insert the bamboo flute back into the soil.

The fine green plant branches sprang out from the holes of the bamboo flute, extending quickly in the wind. Soon, they spread out. A few small white flowers bloomed here and there. A moment later, an ocean of flowers appeared on the mountains.

Lying amid the ocean of flowers, Fang Jingtian breathed heavily. He looked like a very sick patient, lacking all bearing of a fairy man.

Of the strong swordsmen at the Green Mountain Sect, the Immortal Guangyuan was known to be dull and always keep a low profile; but Fang Jingtian was someone who didn’t look even a tad like a fairy man.

He looked like a wealthy merchant since a great many years ago. No matter how wonderfully his two silvery and ruffling brows looked, he still couldn’t rid the air of mortals of him.

The air of mortals was related to how the mortals conducted in their own environment; it had something to do with the regular human activities.

Judging from this perspective, among many disciples of the Immortal Taiping, he was more like a mortal than the others.

Compared to Guangyuan and Nan Wang, who had become personal disciples later than he had, Fang Jingtian had stayed on Shangde Peak longer than them and was more impressed with his Master.

It was for this reason that he was more loyal to the Immortal Taiping and loathed Jing Jiu and the others more than anyone else.

“Damn your ancestors,” Fang Jingtian swore at Jing Jiu.

Jing Jiu said, “Having a broken sword pill doesn’t mean you can’t cultivate any longer. I witnessed somebody in the snowland recover from a broken golden pill. The method should be the same. Do you want to learn it?”

“Damn your grandmother,” swore Fang Jingtian.

Jing Jiu continued calmly, as if he hadn’t heard him, “Your sword ghost has a problem unfortunately; it’s showing signs of scattering. If you wish to recover it, it will take more than two hundred years to do so. I believe you should be able to last that long.”

“Damn you mother,” swore Fang Jingtian.

“You’ll try and heal yourself here from now on. Try your best to stay alive. Death is always a bad thing.”

Jing Jiu went on while taking a glance at the sky, “We’ll be able to meet again pretty soon.”

“Damn you,” swore Fang Jingtian after sighing twice.

“No, don’t do that,” said Jing Jiu.

Having said that, he left the hermit peaks.

As he arrived in the passage of the Sword Jail, he stopped short and turned to look at the cell at the end of the dark and gloomy passageway to his left. All of a sudden, he sat down with his legs crossed.

Countless formidable sword wills were hidden in the passageway, which were set up by him many years ago. It had been hard for him to withstand these sword wills before, but the situation was a bit different now.

Inside the cell, the Snow Girl was squatting on the bamboo chair while looking at the fake icy peak and snowland. She knew he had come, but she had no intention of turning around.

A long while later, she seemed to have sensed something; a beam flashed in her jet black eyes. She turned around slowly to face the stone door of the cell.

Their gazes met in the air through the stone door of the cell, causing a great deal of invisible air waves.

Jing Jiu and the being in the cell had eyed each other wordlessly several times before. He had been the weaker one in those encounters; but it was a bit different this time.

This was probably the first time he could communicate with her as an equal since they met on the Cold Mountain.

Though he could communicate with her as an equal, it didn’t mean that he had the same capability as hers.

The Snow Girl suddenly gurgled twice.

You have grown stronger in one hundred years; I can respect that. If you want to replace it, do it then.

Jing Jiu said, “The bamboo chair had become rotten a long time ago with the passing of one hundred years. But why should I exchange the fairy energy in my body with you?”

The Snow Girl didn’t say anything more; she turned to look at the icy peak and snowland that hadn’t changed all these years.

“I need your help a few days from now. You’re also helping yourself by doing so,” said Jing Jiu.

The Snow Girl lifted her head slowly to look up at the stony wall.

Shangde Peak was situated above the stony wall.

The sky was above Shangde Peak.

What was it above the sky?

She gurgled twice.

Jing Jiu leapt up against the sunlight and flew out of the well.

He stepped on the wind and snow and left the peak.

The top of Tianguang Peak was crowded.

Countless gazes were fixed on Jing Jiu.

Now that he came out from the hermit peaks, the outcome was obvious.

The elders and disciples of Xilai Peak all had pale faces, and those supporters of Fang Jingtian from the other peaks had a terrible look.

The Immortal Guangyuan had a complicated emotion; but he was interrupted by Nan Wang before he could speak.

“Did you actually kill him?” she demanded while staring at Jing Jiu.

The Immortal Guangyuan said to Nan Wang hastily, “Since we didn’t sense any reaction from heaven and earth, Big Brother must be fine.”

Nan Wang snapped, “Heaven and earth didn’t give any response back when he broken through the Heavenly Arrival State in the hermit peaks. Why are you so sure about this?”

Feeling irritated, Jing Jiu retorted, “He didn’t die.”

Fang Jingtian was wounded severely, and was very close to dying. He had no chance of recovering from his injury within a few hundred years. Unless he ascended, there would be no way for him to leave the hermit peaks. His situation was no different than being dead.

Hearing this, Nan Wang didn’t say anything more.

“Greetings, Immortal Sect Master!”

Everybody bowed down on the top of Tianguang Peak, including the elders and disciples of Xilai Peak.

Jing Jiu said something to Zhao Layue before he leapt into the air and headed for Shenmo Peak.

Yuan Qü was dumfounded when he heard what Jing Jiu told Zhao Layue, thinking that Jing Jiu actually intended to have the idea carried out.

Regardless of how astonished he was, Yuan Qü had no choice but to carry it out since he was the personal disciple of Zhao Layue.

A disciple had to handle the matters for their masters.

Yuan Qü came before the peak master of Yunxing, Jin Sidao, and said earnestly, “Big Brother, get ready.”

Jin Sidao was feeling troubled at the moment because Fang Jingtian was defeated by the Immortal Sect Master. Hearing this, he asked with furrowed brows, “What do you mean?”

“The Immortal Sect Master said a few days earlier on the bank of the Sword-Washing Stream that your position as the peak master of Yunxing would be replaced by Young Brother Ping Yongjia.”

After clearing his throat, Yuan Qü continued, “According to the sect rules, you need to help him with the transfer.”

Hearing this, an uproar went up on the peak top. The look on Jin Sidao’s face was terrible.

Boom!!!

A loud bang could be heard on the distant Shenmo Peak.

As Jing Jiu returned to the lonely and desolate peak, the sword formation that had isolated it from the outside world dispersed abruptly. Countless sword wills merged into the energy of heaven and earth, turning into seemingly tangible foggy arrows shooting out in all directions. It seemed that innumerable fireworks were exploding on the top of Shenmo Peak at the moment, demonstrating to the world who was the really outstanding one.
