Arriving back at Tardide, Jayde was pleased to see that President Andillevé and his son had already arrived, they were standing with Elder Ryunzo near an empty cleared field while some of the villagers demonstrated the use of the mechanical plow.

President Andillevé clapped his hands in excitement seeing this wonderful invention. When Jayde had described it he had been stunned, but seeing in action was beyond his imagination. It was even more amazing that was he had initially thought.

Seeing Jayde walking up to them President Andillevé called out excitedly.

"Lady Jayde."

Smiling at the excitement on both father and son's faces Jayde smiled faintly then bowing slightly she greeted the two.

"President Andillevé, Counsellor Andillevé nice to see you again, I hope that your journey to Tardide wasn't too taxing," she said politely.

"Our journey was pleasant and really seeing these wonderful contraptions — totally worth it" Counsellor Andillevé replied grinning widely.

"Oh Lady Jayde, have you any idea how much the mechanical plows are going to change the way that we farm" President Andillevé exclaimed ardently.

His eyes were feverishly bright with excitement. He felt twenty years younger just looking at the wonders around him. Counsellor Andillevé couldn't help laughing at his father's boyish excitement, he hadn't seen his father this riled up for a very long time.

"Pah!" President Andillevé wasn't happy at his son making fun of his excitement, but turning around at seeing those amazing plows, he quickly forgot his irritation with his son and immediately started rattling off questions to Elder Ryunzo among them — how long it would take for him to get his hands on one of these plows.

Counsellor Andillevé noticing that his father was caught up in business just winked at Jayde and allowed his father to rattle on.

Smiling Elder Ryunzo pointed to two plows standing near the edge of the field.

"Those two are for you to take back with you when you return," he said calmly, although he did understand President Andillevé excitement, he had been just the same for days after he had first seen these mechanical plows at work.

"Really?" President Andillevé blurted out.

"Great! Oh, that is just great," he said chuckling rushing over to the two plows sitting there.

Stroking the two plows as though they were the greatest treasures, his face beamed with pleasure. Counsellor Andillevé was slightly embarrassed by his father's behavior, but he did understand his enthusiasm, not only would these plows ensure Oldstrand's future but it would help out some many people on Telia, especially the poor.

Food had always been scarce on Telia. With the amount of effort it took to farm, and with the warlords continuously confiscating food for their wars, food had always been more of a luxury, and the poor were always the ones who suffered.

The number of people who died from starvation, especially during the winter was staggering. Now with these mechanical plows, farmers would be able to plant a lot more crops, and Counsellor Andillevé could see a day when basic foodstuff become a common commodity that everyone on Telia could enjoy.

Elder Ryunzo then invited President Andillevé and Counsellor Andillevé to a field just outside the village, it was one of the fields they used to cut grasses for their livestock to store their feed for winter. Here one of the Bildeson was tied up to the newly designed harvester.

Elder Ryunzo was feeling slightly nervous as he hadn't had any time to test out the harvester as Master Whitestone had only managed to finish up the harvester just before the Andillevés arrived.

Pointing to the new machine President Andillevé asked: "And this .. this is the harvester you were telling me about?"

Nodding Elder Ryunzo then lifted his hand to signal the young men standing by to begin the demonstration.

Jayde design was based on the old reaper-binder from the late 1800s on old Earth, the harvester had a main wheel frame which projected to the side a platform containing a cutter bar having fingers through which reciprocated a knife driven by a crank upon the outer end of the platform was a divider projecting ahead of the platform to separate the grain to be cut from that to be left standing and a reel was positioned above the platform to hold the grain against the reciprocating knife to throw it back upon the platform.

The cut stems which fell onto the platform where then conveyed to the binding mechanism. This mechanism bundles the stems of grain and tied the bundle with twine to form a sheaf. Once tied, the sheaf is discharged from the side of the binder, to be picked up later.

The harvester was drawn by a Bildeson with two people walking at the side of the grain. With this new mechanical harvester, a single machine could now harvest over twenty acres of grain crops or grasses per day.

President Andillevé had thought that the mechanical plow was amazing, but watching harvester cut the grass like it was butter was a revelation, but when he saw that bundles of grass falling to the side all neatly tied up he was dumbstruck.

Even Counsellor Andillevé mouth fell open seeing those neatly tied bundles lying on the ground just waiting to be picked up.

"T..t-hat is amazing" Counsellor Andillevé stammered out, his calm composure shattering upon seeing the wonderful sight in front of him.

This went beyond anything he could imagine. Even Elder Ryunzo was struck mute seeing the harvester in action, thankfully both father and son eyes were glued to the scene in front of them and didn't see the astounded look on Elder Ryunzo face.

Master Whitestone walked over, grinning at the slack jaw look on all three of the men's faces. Winking at Jayde he gave her two thumbs up before calling out to the men.

Quickly all three men recovered their composure and turned to greet Master Whitestone. After chatting for a while and getting word from Master Whitestone that he would have two harvesters ready for delivery to Oldstrand the next week, everybody returned to the village to enjoy the feast that Elder Ryunzo had ordered.

Rainer Gaires joined the villagers to enjoy the feast, after hearing about the amazing innovations he demanded that Elder Ryunzo arrange for him to view them in action the next day. Seeing the old men drinking and toasting each other, and having fun Jayde quietly left the village and returned to her cave.

While she enjoyed being around the villagers and took pleasure from seeing them happy she preferred to be with Reiko and the dragons, she had been away from them for three days and she had missed them terribly. Especially little Shenxin and Huaxin, she loved how much they depended on her and she knew that she had to return to Doha soon, and would have to leave the four dragons behind.

She wanted to spend as much time possible with the four before she left. A part of her really wanted to stay on Telia, she was happy here. She had her dragon family and she had made some wonderful friends in the village.

When she had asked mission control if she would be allowed to stay on Telia, she was informed that if she didn't return of her own, the system would automatically return her, and she would face a level two punishment on her return.

Jayde was really sad that she had no choice but to return to Doha, and according to mission control she had at most two more months before she would be forced back. Thinking of the upcoming assessments that would be taking place on Doha Jayde calculated that she would have to return within six weeks time, which would give her enough time to make it to one of the magical academies for the assessment.

At least she would still be here for the harvesting of the Afeaso, and it gave her enough time to draw up some more designs that she wanted to leave the villagers with when she left.

Feeling slightly depressed, Jayde cuddled the wyrmlings the whole night after she returned to the cave. Yinxin noticed Jayde despondent mood, worried she questioned Reiko, but Reiko had no idea why Jayde was so unhappy.

With no idea what was wrong the two of them snuggled up to Jayde while she slept, hoping that later on, she would share her burdens with them.
