Kameko was shocked at Jayde speech, and her reason for not wanting to contract her son, it also showed what an unusual human Jayde was. Any other human would have forced a contract with a powerful spirit beast like Reiko, human's had no regard for spirit beasts, they treated them like disposable weapons, having no remorse, never thinking that the beasts they contracted had emotions just like them. This was why spirit beasts hated humans.

But Jayde speech made her more comfortable with her decision, she knew that Jayde would never treat her son as a war beast, and from listening to her life story she could understand why Jayde was so anti the contract.

[Then sign an equality contract with him]

"An equality contract?" Jayde asked.

Kameko realized that Jayde only knew about the master/slave contract, so she explained that there were three types of spirit beast contracts, a master/slave contract, this was the most inhumane type of contract, the spirit beast had no choice in the contract, if a human magical power was stronger it could force the spirit beast into making the contract, the spirit beast also had no choice but to obey any command given.

An equality contract, was where both human and spirit beast agreed to contract each other. The spirit beast had the choice whether to follow orders or not, and most importantly the spirit beast could cancel the contract anytime.

And lastly there was the soul contract, this was a life and death contract, and had to entered willingly by both parties, the contract could never be terminated, and should the human contractor die, the spirit beast would die as well, since the spirit beast was contracted to the human's soul it would follow the human contractor through all his or her reincarnations.

After listening to Kameko's explanation, Jayde felt a lot better about the whole contract thing.

"Okay, I agree but only if Reiko agrees as well," she said firmly looking at Reiko.

Reiko had been following the conversation between his mother and Jayde, while heartbroken that his mother would be leaving him soon, he trusted his mother's decision, he also didn't want to be left all alone, and he like this little girl, she smelled nice to him.

Standing up Reiko walked up to Jayde, once he was in front of Jayde he lifted his paw, then quickly bit it open, when the blood flowed he looked at Jayde.

Seeing Jayde confused looked Kameko instructed her.

[You need to cut yourself, and mix your blood with Reiko]

Jayde quickly drew her dagger, then sliced opened her left palm, she then placed her bleeding palm against Reiko bleeding paw.

[No repeat after me]

[With my blood I tie thee to me, I swear to protect and honor thee, thy will is thy own]

Jayde repeated the vow solemnly. As soon as she finished speaking, a strange read glyph glowed beneath her feet, a similar glyph glowed beneath Reiko's paws.

Both glyphs floated up in the air, then met and combined in a flash of light, then slowly the new glyph split into two, one flowed down to Reiko's forehead, the glyph glowed bright and embedded itself in the middle, the other flowed to Jayde forehead and did the same. At the same time, the wounds on Jayde hand and Reiko paw healed instantly.

While Kameko watched, she noticed that when Jayde glyph entered her forehead, strange black runes appeared down the right-hand side of Jayde face, shocking Kameko.

Kameko recognized some of the ancient runes on Jayde's face, and she was even more satisfied with her choice. Her son had a powerful protector now, her destiny was to be one the greats, and her son would stand at her side.

Although sad that she would not be around to see her son live to stand at this incredible woman's side, she was filled with pride that he would one day be a powerful force.

Kameko could feel that her time was running out.

[Little Jayde, thank you for taking care of Reiko for me. I don't have much time left, so listen carefully]

Jayde quickly hurried over to Kameko, she could see that Kameko was battling to breathe.

Panting Kameko quickly said: [When I die, you need to cut out my spirit stone]

Seeing Jayde horrified look, Kameko went on

[You must do it, it is for Reiko, when he is older he can absorb my power and become stronger, he will know when the time is right]

Reluctantly Jayde agreed.

Then asking to speak to Reiko alone, Jayde walked away to give mother and son time alone.

[Reiko, you must be strong my son, stay with little Jayde, she will be a powerful force in this world one day. Don't seek to avenge me yet, wait until you are stronger. Protect little Jayde she will be your sister in this world. With her, by your side, you won't be alone. Always know that you are my greatest pride, live well and be happy my son, promise me this?]

Reiko struggled to hold back his sobs as he listened to his mother's last instructions

[I swear mother, I will become strong, I will be the strongest beast in Doha] he promised.

Mother and son lay next to each, speaking for a while, then Kameko called Jayde over again, her time was nearly up, and she had one final thing to do.

While mother and son were talking, Jayde stood at a distance, through her new bond with Reiko, Jayde could feel Reiko's grief and despair. She longed to comfort him but didn't want to interrupt this final moment between mother and son, all she could do was send comforting thoughts to him, telling him over and over again that she was there for him, and that she wouldn't leave him.

After hearing Kameko calling her over, she rushed to Kameko's side.

[Little Jayde, I have a final gift for you, it is not much, but it will help you on your journey, I am grateful that I had the honor to meet a human like you before leaving this world. Look after my Reiko he is a good boy and will protect you]

And with that Kameko seemed to gather the last of her magical power, and poured it directly into Jayde mind. Jayde's mind filled with hundreds of years worth of knowledge, everything that Kameko had learned through her hundreds of years on Doha, and within Jayde knowledge pool, countless magical spells appeared.

A grief-stricken howl interrupted Jayde as she was examining the knowledge that had just be forced into her mind.

Looking at Kameko, Jayde saw that she had breathed her last, bending over she softly closed Kameko's eyes, then hugging Reiko she too started to howl.
