The Slime Spirit constantly sent sounds into Alex's soul space to request him to let it out when he exited his soul space. It took him a few seconds but Alex was able to let the spirit beast also exit his soul space.
Being able to step outside for the first time, the Slime Spirit clearly looked very excited. It jiggled and jumped like a jumping bean from one place to another.

The feeling of freedom that the spirit beast was experiencing was transferred directly to Alex's soul, enabling him to know exactly what it feeling.
The connection between the two of them was different than the one Alex had with the puppets. It was more direct because the book didn't come in between.

Alex felt an odd sensation of something growing out from behind his back. Alex had full control of it just like his arm and when Alex turned his face behind to check whether he was hallucinating or not, he was left mouth agape and eyes wide open.

Alex stood at its entrance. On his shoulder, sat a glob of orange and black colored spirit beast that anyone would find cute the first time they see it.
"Shall we head out, Plum?" Alex asked.

"Haha~, hold tight then. Its gonna get a little bumpy."

"Yeah, Yeah, there nothing in this world that can escape your grip so falling down from my shoulder is impossible. Let's go, we got two chicks to save." Alex teased the spirit beast that he named after the sound it makes while speaking, Plum.
