Gu Jiao Wu put the diamond ring on Qiao Tan Yuan’s ring finger. He hugged her, and he kissed her lips gently.
‘Tan Yuan, thank you,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I was scared you would reject me.’
‘You know how to be scared?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.
Qiao Tan Yuan looked at the ring on her ring finger. Gu Jiao Wu chose a princess style ring for her. She didn’t care about how expensive the diamond ring was, she cared about the man who gave her the ring.
‘Jiao Wu, why did you choose this ring for me?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.
‘Because in my eyes, you’re my queen,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I do love all of you, even your arrogance. I want you to always be my queen.’

Gu Jiao Wu lit the birthday cake candles. Qiao Tan Yuan made a wish, and blew out the candles.
‘Tan Yuan, what did you wish for?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.
Gu Jiao Wu fed Qiao Tan Yuan a piece of cake.
‘My wish won’t come true if I tell you,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
‘If you tell me your wish, I’ll make your wish come true,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
‘I’m not going to tell you,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘Are we going home now?’
‘Yes, let’s go home,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
In the car, Gu Jiao Wu didn’t take the road back to the Gu Mansion.
‘Tan Yuan, I want to give you your birthday gift,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
‘Isn’t my ring your gift?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘Then you can’t take off your blindfold before I take it off,’ Gu Jiao Wu said and used his tie to blindfold Qiao Tan Yuan.
Qiao Tan Yuan trusted Gu Jiao Wu because he accepted all of her. Since they returned home from Denmark, he had been attentive and loving toward her.
Gu Jiao Wu drove the car to an apartment complex near Qiao Tan Yuan’s office.
After Gu Jiao Wu parked the car, he carried Qiao Tan Yuan to the elevators.
‘Jiao Wu, where are you taking me?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.
Qiao Tan Yuan heard the elevator doors opened, and she knew Gu Jiao Wu didn’t take her back to the Gu Mansion.
‘Don’t worry,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I promise I won’t drop you.’
Gu Jiao Wu carried Qiao Tan Yuan into their new home, and he took off her blindfold.
‘Jiao Wu…’ Qiao Tan Yuan called.
Qiao Tan Yuan was surprised Gu Jiao Wu took her to the apartment he bought for her. The construction company joined two floors together. Gu Jiao Wu furnished the renovated apartment himself. From the Italian leather sofa to the wine bar and the chandelier above the spiral stairs.
‘Tan Yuan, downstairs is our living room, dining room, study room, kitchen and the guest rooms,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I want to show you our rooms upstairs.’
Qiao Tan Yuan followed Gu Jiao Wu upstairs. He brought her to a pink princess room. She knew he designed the room for Xiao Bao.
‘This is Xiao Bao’s bedroom,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
Gu Jiao Wu guided Qiao Tan Yuan to the connecting rooms to Xiao Bao’s bedroom. The first connecting room was full of musical and plush toys Xiao Bao loved to play with. The second connecting room was a spare room elegantly furnished.
‘Tan Yuan, these two rooms are Xiao Bao’s play room and a spare room for your own private use,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
Gu Jiao Wu took Qiao Tan Yuan to the master bedroom. She was surprised to see their pre-wedding portraits hung on the wall. When she returned to the Gu Mansion she didn’t ask Gu Jiao Wu about their pre-wedding portraits because she thought he threw them away. She looked at the bed, vanity table, walk-in-wardrobe and bathroom. Gu Jiao Wu furnished the master bedroom according to her taste.

Gu Jiao Wu happily complied, and he kept Qiao Tan Yuan up all night.
In the morning, Qiao Tan Yuan woke up happy and sore. She thought about last night, she didn’t know if Gu Jiao Wu’s proposal or his birthday gift to her made her happier. She looked at the clock on the wall, it was time for her to get ready for work. She got out of bed too quick, she fell onto the bed and landed on Gu Jiao Wu’s body.
‘Tan Yuan, do you want me this early in the morning?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.
