Side Story
:
Fei Yan Niao (he’s an antagonist in TRB I, Gu Jiao Wen’s enemy) saved Li Dan Qi (aka Yuki) from being raped after her parents’ were murdered. Li Dan Qi’s dad was a chauffeur and her mum was a house maid. Li Dan Qi didn’t know who killed her parents, but she remembered the killer had a scar on his face.
Li Dan Qi wanted to repay Fei Yan Niao for saving her by being his house maid and asked him to help her find her parents’ killer. Fei Yan Niao agreed and trained Li Dan Qi to be an assassin so she could avenge her parents’ deaths.
Fei Yan Niao made a plan to take revenge on Gu Jiao Wen.
Note: This side story about Fei Yan Niao and Li Dan Qi doesn’t affect any of the main characters in TRB II, which is why this side story is summarized instead of detailed.

Three days after Xiao Bao’s birth, Qiao Tan Yuan breast fed Xiao Bao in the hospital.
After Xiao Bao was full, Qiao Tan Yuan sat upright on the bed when suddenly she saw two long familiar arms.
‘Big sister, let me hold my beautiful niece,’ Qiao Jie said.
‘Be careful,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Qiao Tan Yuan felt uneasy to let the usual rough Qiao Jie hold Xiao Bao.
‘Big sister, don’t underestimate me,’ Qiao Jie protested. ‘I’m your daughter’s uncle. Of course I’ll be careful. I would never hurt my precious niece.’
‘I’ll believe it when I see it,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Qiao Tan Yuan couldn’t wait until tomorrow, she and Xiao Bao would be discharged from the hospital. Mrs Qiao and Mrs Chu who was the nurse maid Shen Cheng hired, were out shopping for a crib, stroller and other baby essentials for Xiao Bao. So she was left with the rough Qiao Jie in the hospital room.
Qiao Tan Yuan couldn’t believe how quickly Xiao Bao grew after only three days.
‘Big sister, have you thought of a name for my precious niece?’ Qiao Jie asked.
Qiao Jie smiled at his beautiful niece, he loved his niece who grew more adorable by the day.
‘Her nickname is Xiao Bao,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘I still haven’t thought of a formal name for Xiao Bao. I’ll let our dad choose a name for Xiao Bao.’
‘Don’t let dad choose an old traditional name for Xiao Bao,’ Qiao Jie said. ‘Look how adorable Xiao Bao is. Why don’t we name her Qiao Chou Lam?’
‘Qiao Chou Lam?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked and frowned. ‘Doesn’t roll off the tongue.’
‘What do you mean it doesn’t roll off the tongue?’ Qiao Jie asked. ‘Big sister, we both know dad’s bad at choosing names. Look how common my name is. Don’t let dad choose.’
‘Qiao Jie…’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Suddenly Qiao Tan Yuan and Qiao Jie turned to look at the door, because they heard familiar footsteps. They were shocked to see Wang Tu Ya carrying a large bag of baby gifts and a bouquet of roses.
‘Tan Yuan, I came to visit you,’ Wang Tu Ya said sincerely.
‘Aunt… aunty,’ Qiao Tan Yun said.
Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t know what to say to Wang Tu Ya.
‘I heard you gave birth and came here as soon as I could,’ Wang Tu Ya said.
Wang Tu Ya put the bag and roses on the bedside table. Then she sat on the chair in front of the bed.
‘Thank you aunty,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Qiao Tan Yuan bit her lips and put her guard up. Did Gu Jiao Wu send Wang Tu Ya to steal Xiao Bao because he couldn’t steal Xiao Bao?
