By the time Ethan Lu arrived at their home, Lexi was already on the bed, with her laptop beaming on her lap as if she was reading something. She was too immersed in whatever she was reading and purposely ignored Ethan Lu, who just arrived.

"Hey..." Slowly, Ethan Lu dragged the nearby chair from the side and placed it beside the bed.

"Hmm?" Raising her brows, Lexi hummed a tune as she slightly turned her head to his direction yet, her eyes were still glued on the laptop's screen.

"What are you reading, my love?" Ethan Lu smiled as he slightly leaned forward and took a peek of what kept her occupied. There, he caught a glimpse of an article regarding the scandal about Abigail Fan's artist.

"Just some article — what is it?" Lexi nonchalantly shrugged her shoulder as she now turned her head to face him. Laying her eyes on his exhausted yet still dashing front, Lexi leaned forward as she placed a peck on his lips.

"Have you eaten dinner? Let me prepare some." Smiling at the man before her, Lexi mildly patted his cheek before she closed her laptop and put it on the side. However, just as she was about to get out of bed, Ethan Lu gently held her on her hand which made her stop and looked at him with questioning eyes.

"It's fine, love. I had dinner with Brother Mo." Ethan Lu shook his head as he stretched his lips upward. "If there's anything I want, that's you." He humored as he winked at her.

"Really?" Lexi chuckled at his last remark before she crawled her way to his lap. "That's sweet." Snaking her arms around his neck, Lexi clung on him as she rested the side of her head on his shoulder and sniffed his refreshing minty odor.

"What happened?" After some silence, Lexi softly inquired. He was her husband thus, she knew that there's something he wanted to talk about something in just a glance.

"Did you two argue?" Guessing what happened with his meeting with Morris Liu, Lexi asked. Well, she wouldn't be surprised if they had a little disagreement as both of them had their egos and talking about business, they have a different style of dealing with things.

After all, her husband was quite aggressive — like a compulsive gambler despite all high stakes. On the other hand, Morris Liu might be a risk-taker as well but, he wasn't as daring as Ethan Lu.

"Surprisingly, we didn't." Ethan Lu chuckled as he shook his head sideways at the first thought that came to her mind.

"Then, what is it?"

"We had an interesting discussion — he wanted to borrow my wife." Recalling his meeting with him, Ethan Lu said the same exact ridiculous remark Morris Liu spouted. Upon hearing that, Lexi's brows slightly knitted as she slowly drew her head away from him.

"Borrow your wife? You mean me?" Arching her brows, Lexi thoroughly scanned his side profile that revealed nothing but amusement.

"Mhmm..." Slowly, Ethan Lu turned to face her confused front before he lifted his arm and traced her jawline by the back of his hand and stopped at her chin. His thumb then caressed her lips as his gaze peered at it for a long time before meeting her inquiring eyes.

"It's about Mia Chen. Apparently, she's now Kevin's woman. Brother Mo is not convinced that she bears goodwill. Not to mention, we just reconciled with Kevin but until now, his relationship with brother Mo and Chris is severed. Suspicious, isn't it?"

"So? What's that got to do with him 'borrowing' me? Also, what does she wants?" Lexi tilted her head a little to the side as her brows were still arched in bafflement.

"Exactly, my love. What does she want? We don't know so, we must know." Poking the tip of her nose, Ethan Lu grinned as he found her endless curiosity adorable.

"Does she want brother Mo? I don't think so. She might be a bad person but, I don't think she's stupid enough not to know that regardless of what she does, brother Mo would never fall for her. Then, why was she clinging to Kevin? Did she really fell in love with him? Maybe, maybe not. That's why we will find out."

"Huh?" Lost at the moment, Lexi tried to put the pieces together. She currently has Hannah Gan's issue at hand and then Avah Tong. Thus, adding another crazy like Mia Chen on the list, she needed more time to absorb another scheme.

"Mr. Tang's birthday is coming soon. Brother Mo will surely attend — Mom, and Dad will attend as well. If our assumptions are correct, Mia Chen was waiting for the right time where you and brother Mo will be in the same event. So, we can assume that she'll strike on the same day. What she will do, I don't know but, at the very least, I can make sure you're safe." Summarizing their plan and Mia Chen's possible attendance on the said day, Ethan Lu reassured.

He looked at her, who remained silent as she processed everything in one go.

"If nothing happened, we can assume she is truly in love with Kevin. But, if she made a move just like what we expected, we might gain pieces of information more than we expected." Cupping her cheek, Ethan Lu gently smiled.

"She won't fall for Kevin." After some silence, Lexi emotionlessly uttered as if she was told about it. Which made Ethan Lu furrowed his brows in surprise.

"Alright, I'll cooperate. I'll contact brother Mo via emails." Ignoring the 'how did you know' expression plastered across her husband's face, Lexi smiled as she agreed to be 'borrowed'.

However, what Ethan Lu failed to notice was the oddness of her smile and the faint glint that flashed across her eyes.

"But, are you sure you're letting him borrow me?" Arching her brows, Lexi asked for the last time.

"Never." Ethan Lu shook his head as he responded without batting an eye. "But, I'll let you team up with him, just this once." As he added his latter remarks, Ethan Lu smiled as he corrected the term. Alas, it was all too late as Lexi already perceived it as he was letting another man borrow her.

Hence, she'll surely make him regret this, just this once.
