Naota and the other adventurers have already begun questioning the townspeople. They seem to have no answer.
"AHHH!!! THIS IS FRUSTRATING!" Tia screams out as Naota keeps on walking while holding his chin. Tia looks at Naota. "What's the matter Naota?" Tia asks Naota. "There is something odd not only about the city lord but about this town as well." Naota says to Tia.
"Huh?! What are you talking about?" Tia questions Naota. "You see when I was questioning the people in the city, I realised that all of them were either lying or afraid of something." Naota says to Tia. "I could see their expressions didn't express the emotion of truth not even a single glimpse of it." Naota says.
"What are you trying to get at Naota?" Tia asks Naota. "First of all this city is made full of gold." Naota says to Tia opening his first finger. "Duh! It's supposed to be the city where gold glimmers all over the place so it's obviously made of gold." Tia says to Naota.
"Yeah that's true but the second thing is that there is no gold mine over here which gives this place this kind of supply of gold." Naota raises his second finger indicating a two. Tia seems to be interested in what Naota is saying. "Isn't it strange that even after building such a city, the gold still hasn't depleted even a bit?" Naota looks at Tia. "I don't understand what kind of relation this has to the city lord's daughter." Tia says to Naota with a confused tone and face.
"Ever since I have reached this place, I have had this feeling that this place is hiding a lot of secrets that we don't know about and I have a feeling that this daughter of the city lord has a big part to play in this." Naota says. "What makes you say that?" Tia questions Naota.
"Remember, this is the city lord we are talking about. If he wanted he could have issued a warrant to find his daughter lawfully through the hands of his own soldiers but he hired us adventurers which means he hired mercenaries to find his daughter instead of his own soldiers. But why? It doesn't make sense why he wouldn't issue a warrant unless he is trying to hide something." Naota says.
(What's with this guy? Why is he thinking so quickly? And now I am starting to agree with what his saying too? It is quite strange about how the city lord hired adventurers instead of his own soldiers to do such a mission.)
"Is that you Takaki?" A familiar voice asks Naota from his back. Naota turns around to see Livonia standing along with a charming guy in clean steel plated armour. He also has blonde hairs and a short pony tail to follow with it.
"Hey Livonia." Naota raises his hand and waves. "This is Charter Diamonds, his my childhood friend and my party member for now." Livonia says to Naota. "Oh..." Naota shakes his with Charter. "This Takaki Naota, the person I spoke about Charter." Livonia giggles and introduces them to each other. "Naota Nice to meet you" Charter says to Naota staring right into his face. Naota looks away. "Same here..."
(What kind of stories did she spout in front of this guy? He already seems to be looking at me with an intention to kill me...)
"Anyways, did you guys find something about the missing daughter?" Livonia asks Naota. Naota shakes his head. "Nothing yet." Tia says. "Is that my darling Tia?!" Charter runs towards Tia with his hearted eyes. Tia punches him right in the face. "Get lost!"
(That would definitely hurt his pride)
"WE FOUND HER!!!! THE GOLD IS OURS!!! YEAH!!!!" A bunch of party members begin to scream. "What the..." Tia and everyone else around seem to be surprised at what happened. "STOP! DON'T TAKE ME TO THAT MONSTER! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Naota looks at the girl with short hairs in a long torn dress of a princess.
"Seems like our mission has been complete...." Tia says to Naota. Naota keeps on staring as the girl goes away.
"Our job is not done yet." Naota says as he begins to back away. "What are you saying Naota?" Tia seems to be confused. "Yeah, there is no way you're getting any money for that." Charter says to Naota. "You don't get it do you? We are trapped over here, look around us."
People of the city gather around the group of 4 holding weapons to fight.
"Wh-what...What's going on here?" Livonia seems to be confused and scared. "I don't know but I would like to find out." Naota readies his dagger. "Time to get this party started!"
