Sky activated his 'Dragon Eyes' and dodged the wave of tentacles. At the start he was barley able to dodge the attacks, but as the time passed, his dodges became extremely smooth and the tentacles never reached a meter from him.
As time passed Sky's Dragon Eyes easily saw through the weakness of the level Nine Sun Devil 'Centackle' and as even more time passed, he was even able to see it's whole life until now.
At the last stage of his Dragon Eyes, Sky felt the Centackle's current emotions, it's thoughts, he even felt it's attack pattern.
He easily dodged the attacks as he held the bone sword and grew increasingly closer to it's head.
He entered the lake and saw it's huge head spitting fire towards him through it's eyes. Sky snorted coldly, how dare this bitch harm a little girl like her?
His advance grew stronger as he rushed at it's head.
Normally, even if Sky could read each and every motion of the Centackle, he would not be able to beat it due to it's numerous tentacles. Even Sky would have a hard time dodging thousands of tentacles, even if he knew where they would attack.
But the current situation was totally different. Due to the Little Ninth Princess, the Centackle only had about a hundred tentacles left. These hundred did not pose much of a threat to the Sky who had recently leveled up and could read each and every action of the Centackle.
Suddenly, Sky's expression turned fierce as he jumped out of the lake. Even though his reaction was pitch perfect, his cultivation was too low, he was not fast enough.
The centackle opened it's mouth and used a Gluttony attack, 'Devour'. All the water in the lake suddenly surged towards the Centackle's mouth and entered it.
Sky who was almost out of the lake was sucked back into the lake and his body flowed into the Centackle's mouth along with the lake water.
Sky cursed himself for not taking a look at the Centackle's attacks when he received the information through his Dragon Eyes.
He had been too focused on dodging the tentacles that he had forgotten to look at the attacks of the Centackle when he received them.
If he had already known about the Centackle's 'Devour' attack, he could have reacted faster as soon as it showed any signs of using this attack.
But since he had not gone through the Centackle's battle techniques when he received them, he could not dodge the 'Devour' and was getting sucked into it's mouth now.
As he almost reached it's mouth, his lips curved upward as he suddenly lifted his Fist. "Lazy Fist." He exclaimed as he punched the head of the Centackle.
Sky's Sloth Cultivation had risen to level fourty six from level twenty. Now his attack could even affect a level Nine Sin Devil. Moreover with his Lazy Monarch physique any Sloth based attacks had their effectiveness doubled.
The Centackle fell into a momentary daze from the Lazy Punch. Sky took advantage of this moment and slashed a point where all of it's tentacles converged in it's head.
According to his Dragon Eyes, this was the weakest point in the Centackle's body.
As Sky watched the Centackle's head being separated from it's tentacles, he sighed in relief and his anger vanished completely. The Centackle was dead, truly dead.
But just as he was about to leave the lake and rejoin with the young girl, the tentacles that have been severed wriggled at a fast pace until a head grew out of each of the tentacle.
Sky's expression changed as he saw the hundred tentacles grow heads that were similar to the Centackle's head.
"Is this the way the Centackle gives birth?" He could not help but gasp at this realization.
When a Centackle dies, it's tentacles would separate from the dead body and would grow heads on their own.
This new tentacle with a fully grown head was an offspring of the Centackle. It would start growing more tentacles and become a thousand tentacled Centackle once it matures.
Right now, the death of the Level Nine Sin Devil Centackle produced hundred offsprings. Sky could not help but gasp at this situation.
If every Centackle gives birth to hundred more on it's death, then the population of the Centackles was sure to be skyrocketing.
Sky immediately went through the information about the Centackle he had gained from using the Dragon Eyes.
But this information shocked him even more.
The information Sky got said that, at the start, there was only one Centackle. It had platinum coloured tentacles and was said to be a unrivaled Deity.
On it's death it's Platinum Tentacles separated from it's main body and gave birth to thousands of Centackles.
But these new Centackles only inherited one Platinum Tentacle from their mother and the remaining tentacles were are golden coloured.
This generation which had one Platinum tentacle from their Progenitor and remaining Golden tentacles were called the First Generation Centackles.
Upon death of First Generation Centackle, the Original Platinum Tentacle would give birth to another First Generation Centackle, while the remaining Golden Tentacles would give birth to second generation Centackles.
These second generation Centackles had one Golden Tentacle and remaining Silver Tentacles.
Upon death of a Second Generation Centackle, the Golden Tentacles would give birth to another second generation Centackle while the Silver tentacles gave birth to a third generation Centackle.
These Third Generation had one Silver Tentacle while the remaining were bronze tentacles.
Upon it's death, like it's predecessor it gives birth to another third generation Centackle with It's Silver Tentacle, while the bronze tentacles give birth to fourth generation.
The fourth generation had one bronze tentacle while the remaking tentacles were normal.
Upon the death of a fourth generation, the bronze tentacle would give birth to another fourth generation while the normal tentacles give birth to the fifth generation.
The fifth generation was the last generation of the Centackles and would give birth to all fifth generation Centackles on it's death.
In other words, the number of First Generation Centackle were always constant due to the limited amount of Platinum Tentacles present, but the second generation and the following generations had their numbers increased each time one of their own died.
What made Sky speechless was the fact that the Centackle he had fought was a fifth generation Centackle, the lowest level Centackle. Yet this lowest level Centackle was a Level Nine Sin Devil. This was an existence comparable to the highest level existences in the Martial Sin Planet.
He just could not imagine what Cultivation the third and fourth generations had, much less the second and the first generation.
The only thing that consoled him was the fact that it took a whole ten million years for a Fifth Generation Centackle to die naturally.
This meant that their population even though grew with each death, it was still less compared to humans, who only gave birth to two children on an average.
Seeing these hundred newborn Centackles, Sky sighed. His bone sword made a clean arc as it slashed away all these hundred newborn Centackles.
This time they did not revive. The tentacles just dropped down to the bottom of the lake. This was the only way to kill a Centackle completely.
No matter what reason the Centackle had, it should not have attacked Sky and the young girl. Sky did not show mercy to these newborns, precisely because he held a grudge against the Centackle.
He was not a petty man, but somehow he got a feeling that he should kill these new born Centackles. Even he did not understand such feeling.
He only felt that if he did not kill these Centackles now, it would be major crime he committed against himself.
He sighed as he saw them fall to the bottom of the lake. He turned away after one final look and rose to the surface.
His eyes turned gentle as his eyes fell on the young girl who was sleeping peacefully.
He carefully lifted her and walked towards the core of the forest.
