Sky travelled for another Five Kilometers to the Core. As he got closer and closer to the core, Sky noticed a strange occurrence.
The monsters which they met on their way, were not as aggressive as the monsters from the outskirts of the forest. Some of these monsters even smiled at Sky.
"Why are the monsters not attacking us?" Sky asked the Little Ninth Princess who had woken up and was currently walking side by side of Sky.
The young girl looked at Sky's face, seeing that he was completely a dunce about how the core of the Forest worked, she opened her small and sexy mouth to explain. "Monsters that are allowed to stay in the core are the direct subordinates of the Princess's of the Sky Clan."
"Since they are the subordinates of the Princess's of the Sky Clan, they obviously won't attack someone who was helping them fend off the attacks from the Great Demon's Clan."
"This is the reason that they don't attack us." She explained as she took out a Sugarcane out of the spatial pouch that was hanging at her waist and gave it to Sky.
Sky smiled wryly as he took the cane from her and peeled the outer coating with his teeth. When he finished peeling the outer covering and was about to take a bite into the sweet part, a small hand suddenly stretched out and snatched it away.
The Little Ninth Princess happily munched on the sugarcane which Sky had peeled. Seeing her happy munching face, Sky was dumbfounded.
Was he a Sugarcane peeler to the young lady? But when he saw how cute she was as she munched on the cane, all his annoyance disappeared and his hand reached out to pat her head.
But the young girl stopped his hand halfway with her own and looked fiercely at him. "What are doing?" Her golden eyes revealed a small killing intent which Sky had never seen before.
He freed his hand awkwardly and rubbed his nose with his index finger. "I just thought to pat your head." He smiled wryly.
"Ah! Why would you want to pat my head?" She returned back to her normal youthful girl style as she smiled and asked him.
Why? Why did I want to pat your head? Sky pondered on this question. Sometimes you would do things unconsciously but there was always a reason behind your actions. So sky thought of a reason.
"Maybe...maybe, it's a Male's instinct. You looked cute, so I thought I should pat you." After a long while, Sky uttered these words with uncertainty. He still did not know why he had felt an impulse to pat her head suddenly, so he could only push it on the fact that he was a male.
"Hmm! I understand." The young girl did not force it, she just nodded at his explanation. Her eyes turned sad a second later as she said. "I am sorry Sky! I was rude just now. I should not have pushed away your hand." She even apologized.
Sky was seeing her apologize to him for the first time and could not help but be taken back by it. Did this Sugarcane Maniac even knew how to apologize before?
The young girl had given Sky an impression of that of an unrestrained bird before. She did things she wanted and never cared about the consequences of her actions. But now, she had apologized on her own. This made Sky unable to respond to her apology for some time.
"What? I already apologized, but you still are acting cold by not talking. What a petty man you are!" The young girl suddenly spat on the ground as she looked at Sky. She was mocking Sky for being too petty.
Sky could only smile wryly in response. He had been in a shock until now, and before he could reply to her apology, he was already branded as a petty man by the young girl. He did not know wether to laugh or cry at her behaviour.
The young girl distanced herself from Sky, as if, scared that Sky's pettiness would rub off onto her if she stayed too close to him. Her speed increased as she dashed into core of the forest.
Sky could only speed up and follow her. If it was in the past, he would have just left the young girl, and worked on his own. But now, after seeing her almost sacrifice herself for his sake, Sky wanted to protect her. He did not want to see her hurt once more.
This was a kind of a responsibility that a Big Brother would feel towards his own Little Sister. He had to protect her even it means that he would suffer, even if it means that he had to overcome her nasty attitude.
But as Sky caught up to her, his thoughts drifted to the time he had tried to pat her. That killing intent was absolutely real. Sky even felt a deep rooted hatred behind that death stare.
But he knew, this little girl did not have any hatred towards him. This deep hatred was on someone else, and he just triggered it somehow.
'Seems like she had her own problems.' Sky could help but sigh. There are a lot of people who had their own history of sad pasts, yet they smiled and carried on, just like this young girl.
Thinking up to this, Sky could not help but scoop the girl into his arms as he princess carried her.
"Wha! What are you doing? Put me down!!" The young girl cried out.
"Hump! You can carry me, But I can't carry you?" He pinched her small butt and continue moving.
The young girl's face turned red as she felt the soft pain in her butt. 'Hump! How dare he take advantage of me?' 'All men are beasts like big sister had mentioned.' But even though she thought these things in her mind, she did not struggle out of Sky's arms.
Sky did not know that he was not only a petty man, but also a beast in the young girl's eyes. He carried her in his arms, his eyes were warm as he looked at her.
'Whatever past she might have had, from today, I will make sure that she would be so happy that she would forget all her painful past.'
He made this vow silently. This was like a big brother's vow to keep the little sister happy.

In the Core of the EverNight Forest, in front of the EverNight Palace, currently six young girls were facing each other.
These six girls were the Six other people of the Sky Clan that were undergoing the Trial along with Sky.
These Six were, The Fifth Princess, The Ninth Princess, The Thirteenth Princess, The Sixty Fourth Princess, The Ninety Ninth Princess and the Primary Clone of the Second Princess of the Sky clan.
Currently all of their faces were looking towards the Spear that was floating in the air above them.
"Big Sister Ninth, is it really a Weapon of Sin?" The Thirteenth Princess knew that this spear was a Weapon of Sin, but she did not dare believe it.
"Little sister, I am too lazy to lie to you." The Ninth Princess replied.
The Thirteen Princess nodded her head. Their Sky Clan was a descendent of Sloth. They were Lazy, they were too lazy to lie to others.
