The year away from home was drawing to a close for Hazel. She felt both glad and a bit sad that about that. Glad to go home and see her beloved brother. Sad because she really had made friends here in Carendlus.

She sighed, leaning on her arms as she gazed out her bedroom window. She was not yet ready to say goodbye.

"Cheer up, my princess." Asrar patted her shoulder and sat next to her. "I am sure they will allow you to come back."

She smiled at him and then leaned to steal a kiss from him. She was still not used to the fact that he was just as much in love with her as she was with him. And that he would accept her shows of affection.

It was another thing that made her feel somewhat reluctant. Carendlus had provided her the opportunity to grow closer to her knight. And for that she would be eternally grateful.

Asrar wrapped his arm around her waist and returned her kiss, pressing her close. Lately he had been much more free with her, though keeping to the boundaries that still existed due to the simple fact that as of right now they were not married.

"What was that for, princess?" Asrar murmured softly as they broke apart. He hardly moved back from her though just leaned his head against hers with a smile lighting up his face.

"I just wanted to…" She giggled and pulled completely away from him, "I suppose we should be saying our goodbyes…"

"The twins are already ready to go…" Asrar leaned against the wall as he watched her. His eyes twinkled with happiness. Seeing him being so carefree had Hazel silently thanking her brother. Asrar was much more like his old self now, informal yet a little sweet.

"Alright. I just need to say goodbye to our friends her. You are coming too!" She grabbed hold of his arm and dragged him out of her room. The twins would finish her packing while she took her leave of the queen and Zylvia and their husbands.

Finding all of them was easy. They were waiting on her to say their farewells. She was immediately caught into a hug by Fayre which she returned with great happiness.

As Fayre stepped back Zylvia then pulled her into a hug. It was a bit more reserved, but was filled with warmth. Just like Zylvia herself. Hazel had come to realize that Zylvia was a lot more reserved than the queen, not being as open to other people. But she was still likeable in her own way.

Neither of the men hugged her. Jayesh clapped her shoulder and told her she was welcome anytime to come for a visit. Kaldrek gave her a smile and simply said that she would be missed.

Hazel at first was a little overwhelmed but quickly managed to get a grip on herself. And then an idea came into her head and she could not resist the opportunity to tease her knight.

"Thank you." Hazel smiled brightly at the four, "And I will invite all of you now to Asrar's and mine wedding."

Asrar's eyes widened and his cheeks reddened a little. Hazel managed to keep a straight face as she ignored how flustered she had just made her knight.

After they accepted her invitation she left in high spirits. Asrar helped her into her carriage. He was frowning a bit now and hardly looking at her.

"Something wrong?" She was on the verge of giggles as she prevented him from leaving quite yet.

"Just…" He shifted slightly, "My princess, why did you make it sound like we were e-engaged."

Hazel did laugh now. It was not every day she got to hear her knight stutter like that, "What, are you not planning on marrying me? I thought that as my best friend you would never play with my heart like that! But if you do not-" She was really only teasing but he interrupted her.

"N-no." He took hold of her hands. "I w-want to marry you, princess. Its just that… you kinda… I mean it would have been nice to have you mention that to me first rather than just invite people to our w-wedding. I mean I have not even asked permission from your family yet!"

She smiled, "But you will marry me, right? Unofficially we can consider ourselves engaged then."

"Sure," His smile was bright and filled with warmth, "So long as your father is willing. I am sure your brother won't have a problem."

Hazel could not keep from feeling utterly and completely happy as they started off down the road. She watched the man she loved as he rode nearby her carriage. That had been easy to do.
