It was not long after Caldron was born that Amrunela's first birthday came around. Despite the fact that she was still too young to understand, Kaldrek and Zylvia both made a big deal out of it for their child.

Zylvia wanted there to be no doubt in the kid's mind that she was loved and so was doing her best to show that deep affection. Kaldrek felt the same, and was excited for days leading up to their daughter's birthday.

Jaekel had turned one before Caldron had been born, but they had decided to celebrate it at the same time as Amrunela's birthday so they had waited a month and just combined the two's birthday celebration for that year.

Neither one of the kids had yet started talking, but both of them had started getting active. It was cute watching how Prince Jaekel would follow Amrunela around everywhere. And it was even cuter watching how Amrunela reacted to her baby brother, making soft cooing noises as she tried to get him to join in with her and Jaekel's innane games. And then being utterly confused at the unresponsiveness of the baby.

They had prepared presents for both one-year-olds, nothing major, just toys that would be fun for them. When Jaekel received his, even before he had opened it, he ran to show it to his little friend, "Ru-ru!"

He tripped and landed hard on the ground, causing Amrunela to crawl over to him as tears welled in his eyes. Alarmed Fayre walked over to him and gathered him up in her arms, checking him for any injuries.

She let out a relieved sigh that he at most he had rubbed his knees a little, and kissed his forehead. Fayre set her little prince back on the ground and he continued his one-minded trip to sit beside Amrunela, showing off his present to her and laughing.

"Somehow…" Kaldrek said watching the two, "It really does not surprise me that Jaekel's first word was an attempt to say her name."

Zylvia giggled a little. It was true. Jaekel was strangely attached to the other child. It was a little abnormal, at his age he should probably not be all that concerned about other kids, and mostly just attach himself to his mother, and father.

Amrunela also seemed to do the same thing, only to a lesser degree. It was more a curiosity on her part, while on the prince's part it almost seemed like Amrunela was the most important thing in his little world. Zylvia felt a little sad for Fayre just thinking about it. Her son had practically been stolen by the girl.

Jaekel and Amrunela had both seemed to get excited about their new toys, rolling them on the floor with a focused attention, that seemed as if they were doing the most serious thing in the world.

Zylvia leaned against Kaldrek as she watched the two kids, and held the younger child in her arms. It would not be long before these two were getting into mischief and Caldron would likely be following them.

After a while of playing the two both curled up on the floor and fell asleep. Fayre smiled as she watched the two, "I really think the two of them are going to be best friends as they get older. I mean, look at them now."

"Yeah…" Zylvia smiled brightly. They were laying near to each other. Jaekel's hand reaching towards Amrunela as they slept peacefully. "We should probably put them to bed, though."

She handed Caldron over to Kaldrek who happily took his son in his arms and went to pick up Amrunela. Her daughter leaned into her, rustling into a more comfortable position as she dug her head into her mother's neck.

Fayre scooped Jaekel up, startling him up a little. He squirmed a bit in his mother's arms, "Ru-ru?"

He reached out his arms towards Amrunela, trying to reach her. Fayre shifted him, and soothingly stroked his back.

He went back to sleep though after they had put the two in their crib and he had crawled over to her and plopped down next to her.

The two women stepped back to their men and sat with them. In order not to disturb the sleeping children they were quiet as they talked together.
