It didn't take long for the Myth of Xavier to end. By that time, I was already scanning the crowd, searching for a boy who matched Thomas Hark's description.

Thomas Hark was a blond-haired youth with freckles on his face...

That is legit all I have to help me...

...I know, I'm a huge disappointment. But, hey! At least I'm trying!

I ended up finding a few boys matching that description; however, the degree of freckles varied.

Some boys looked as if their face were made of freckles while others looked as if they barely had any.

Now, all I can do is rely on clothes and personality, huh?

Clothes? I'm just gonna guess that Thomas Hark wears the usual t-shirt and jeans. There's no way that he'd dress up like a Noble.

Personality? All I have to do is look for a Human Miceter I guess.

All of this would require a bit of spying...

Luckily for me, Miceter likes to eavesdrop on conversations in his free time.

"Hey, Miceter?"

"Yes, Mister?"

"I have a few tasks I need help with..."

In the Prosperous Kingdom, Riverdale's Tavern

Miceter carefully crawled on top of the rafters, gazing at the scene below. This had been the tenth boy with blond hair and freckles he had seen. Each boy he had spied on previously were either too dumb, too smart, too mean, too boring, or too average for Mister.

Miceter really wanted this boy to be the right one. It's not because he's getting bored. No. It's because he feels as if he's letting Mister down by not finding Mister's friend yet.

The tavern was extremely loud. Drunk men screeched drinking songs while some quiet folks enjoyed a meal. Among those that were enjoying a meal, was Miceter's target. The boy and the rest of his family were planning on staying the night after their meal. Miceter planned on spying on their conversations at that time. Right now, he was comparing the boy's outfit.

Indeed, he wore a t-shirt and jeans.

This fact alone filled Miceter's tiny heart with hope.

Back to Me

Gazing at the night sky, I couldn't help but feel anxious.

I don't know the exact time, but tomorrow is when the System will release its wrath.

Right now, I'm mentally preparing myself for the worst.

I glanced at the tavern doors.

Hopefully Miceter doesn't encounter any trouble during his mission...

"Hey, black cat." A voice jolted me out of my thoughts.

Turning back, my eyes landed on a haggard-looking man holding onto the reins of a grey horse. He had silver hair and hazelnut eyes. He looked as if he hadn't slept for ages.

"Meow." I meowed in response.

What could I do? I'm in my Beast Form and I can't transition into a Human so a "Meow" is all I can offer.

The man narrowed his eyes at me. "Hmm... this must be your first time talking to a Beast Man in their Human form... Try sending your thoughts towards me."

Sending my thoughts toward him? What the hell does that mean?

"Meow." I meowed again.

The man frowned. "Either you're dumb or doing this out of spite. One last time, try talking to me like you usually would with other Beast Men."

WHAT?!

YOU DARE QUESTION MY INTELLIGENCE?!

"HOW DARE YOU!" I screamed aloud.

Oops. I didn't mean to say that.

The man ignored my angry outburst and continued after confirming my ability to speak. "Have you seen a white mouse running around, by any chance? He has a red ribbon tied around his neck and goes by the name of 'Miceter'."

My jaw hit the floor as I stared at the man in shock.

ZED!

IS THAT YOU?!

"Who's asking?" I asked.

Please say it! Please say you're Zed!

"Me." The man glared at me. His ice cold eyes sent a shiver down my spine.

"Who's me?" I persisted.

The man answered, his voice impatient. "My name is Zed."
