With that announcement the other four guards were stunned with what they found, however before they could react, Ye Xiu had snatched his sword and killed the guard who was holding his sword a second ago.

When the second guard finally realized what had happened to his fellow, Ye Xiu had pierced his throat with dagger in his hand.

The remaining two guards, who witnessed how fast Ye Xiu's movement, knew they weren't match for him.

The two of them attempted to run away from the scene as fast as they could, but Ye Xiu had stabbed their back and sent them to their death.

Meanwhile the guard who was inside the carriage, still had not aware about the other guards' dreadful fate, though he heard their muffled scream, he didn't think they were facing their death.

"Get out!" Ye Xiu yelled at the carriage.

The guard knitted his brows when he heard Ye Xiu rude tone, he shouldn't be so arrogant in this situation, right? He would die in no time for hiding a runaway like this!

With an annoyed face, he got out of the carriage, however the bloody scene before his eyes was beyond his imagination.

The four guards who were still alive when he got on the carriage, now were death with blood pooled around his body on the ground.

"What…" Before he could say another word, his vision turned blur as he fell on the ground with head separated from his body.

There was a soft thud when Jinse's legs finally gave up and her body trembled with what she was witnessing right now. A cold murder happened before her eyes in the blink of an eye. This was her first time to see something so brutal and inhuman like this, she even had never seen someone kill the other person in her life. The young maid servant was utterly in shock.

"What are you doing!?" Ye Xiu shouted at Jinse. "Get up and get on the carriage!"

From the corner of Ye Xiu's eyes, he saw a guard realized about what was happening with their comrade, shock was written across his face as he informed his fellow guard.

In no time, all of the guards' eyes were looking at Ye Xiu's direction and the bloody dead bodies of the guards on the ground.

Grimly, Ye Xiu yanked Jinse's upper hand as he threw her inside the carriage, seemingly the young maidservant had lost her senses as she didn't know what to do anymore and Ye Xiu didn't have time and patient to wait until Jinse regained his common senses.

"Stay with her!" Ye Xiu yelled at her when he saw squadron of soldiers were moving forward toward them while some of them went to get their horses.

The situation turned into a chaos in matter of second as the soldiers, who were chasing them, yelled behind the carriage.

"Stop the carriage!!!"

In the other hand, Ye Xiu didn't have time to even glance at them as he forced the horses to run faster and faster while he tried to think about the solution and the way out from this predicament.

They needed to trespass the border no matter what, but after the border was a land without occupants, those soldiers could easily trespassed as well, it wouldn't bother them as there was no rule in that land, and to reach Greenhill Mountain, it would take another five more hours, Ye Xiu wouldn't be able to keep the distance between them for that long.

Sacrificing himself also out of an option, he could block twenty to thirty of them, but not all of them. Moreover, who would ride the carriage? Ye Xiu was very sure that Jinse didn't even know how to ride a horse, let alone to ride a carriage.

Ye Xiu gritted his teeth as he couldn't find any way out. He would die, no, the three of them would die in this point.

Where was Qi Xunyi and his other men? Why it took them a very long time to catch up with him? Did something happen to them? But, there was around two hundreds of them, it wouldn't be an easy task to defeat them, right?

Before Ye Xiu could reach the border gates, one of the soldiers managed to catch up with him and tried to jump inside the carriage.

Ye Xiu's eyes darkened as he pulled the rein and made the carriage stopped, once it temporarily stopped, Ye Xiu slashed the horse along with the horseman with a swing of his sword.

The moment the horseman fell from his horse, Ye Xiu rode the carriage away, tried to force the three horses to run faster than before.

The horses indeed ran faster as Ye Xiu whipped their back, but the carriage wasn't able to withstand the speed and started to shaking uncontrollably, even so, Ye Xiu couldn't slow down as they almost caught up with them.

Not only that, seeing there were many soldiers who chased after them, the guards at the border closed the gates and ready to surround the carriage.

This was a hopeless situation with no way out!

There was nothing that Ye Xiu could do except stayed and fought his way out.

"YOU! What is your name!?" Ye Xiu yelled at Jinse. A moment later, Jinse poked her head as her pale expression appeared beside Ye Xiu.

"My name is Jinse…" She said with fear laced in her trembling voice. "What should we do now?" Jinse asked again when she watched with panic at the gates that had been closed, with more soldiers in front of them.

"I will try to open the gate!" Ye Xiu said in loud as the wind was too harsh. "And you take the rein and bring this carriage away from here!"

Jinse startled. "But, Master… I don't know… I don't know how to ride."

"Try to figure it out or else, the three of us will be death!" Ye Xiu said agitatedly.

Once he finished his words, the carriage lost its balance and fell.
