It was the summer season for Australia, the sun scorching the barren lands of central Australia, in a small town know for the giant rock near it, Alive Springs. There in the outskirts of Alice Springs, Lachlan could be seen staring intently at a small scorpion, his eyes were filled with confusion. The boy had luscious long black hair, light brown skin and vibrant green eyes.

He could be seen staring intently at a scorpion as if he was trying to find something, he tilted his head a few times, trying to get a better angle of the scorpion before him. He stared for a few more seconds before he jumped back in fright.

"Ah!" Lachlan yelled before tumbling backwards, although his grown up around dangerous critters like this, he never got used to being so close to them.

He slowly got back up and dusted the dirt off his closes, he went back to the scorpion to double check what he just saw. Going back to the scorpion and staring at it again a small screen appeared in front of the boy.

--------------------------------------------------------

Name: Desert Scorpion

Age: Adult

Physical Strengths: Strong pincers and Extremely fast and precise attacks

Physical Weakness: Size and movement speed

Species Characteristics: Dangerous poison stored within the tail

Potential: 4th Grade Potential

Current Condition: Healthy

--------------------------------------------------------

Lachlan couldn't believe what he was seeing and had a shocked expression plastered across his face. He tried to think back to what could have caused such a change, there was only one thing that happened recently.

The night before he experienced a mad headache, his eyes also slightly hurt as if something was poking them, he never would have expected that this is the result of that.

However, he couldn't understand what some of the information meant, the most confusing part was the potential. 'What does it mean?' Lachlan looked closer then tilted his head back, he rested his arm on his knee as he went into a thinking pose.

He looked at the 4th grade potential, confused as to whether it was high or not. However, considering that it said 4th grade instead of grade 4, he could assume it was high. He's read a few novels which contained such rankings and that was how it worked.

He looked back towards the scorpion and tried to reach out for the screen, his hand went through it and his body followed with it, his expression turned grim when he realised where his hand was going. His hand slammed on the ground next to the scorpion, fortunately, scaring it away.

"Lachlan! Get back here and stop messing around with the wildlife" A middle-aged women yelled from behind him, her face as red as a tomato. She was beautiful to say to least, she had blonde hair the goes just below her shoulders, white skin and deep blue eyes. Although she had a couple of wrinkles on her forehead, that didn't take away her beauty.

She strolled over to Lachlan, grabbed him by the ear and dragged him towards a nearby house.

"Geez, you're already 15, you need to plan out your life. Look at your brothers, both of which have already gone to Uni. As they've come to visit us during their break you should take this opportunity to ask them questions," The woman said in a grumpy tone. Out of all her children, Lachlan somehow managed to keep his childish behaviours, it's as if he sees the world differently.

However, what the woman didn't know was that Lachlan was staring curiously at a new screen in front of him, one that appeared in front of his mother.

--------------------------------------------------------

Name: Chloe Wilson (Human)

Age: 39 (Adult)

Species Characteristics: Extremely Intelligent

Potential: 8th Grade Potential

Current Condition: Unhealthy, advised getting more rest and regular exercise

--------------------------------------------------------

Walking through the door they stepped into a spacious room. There were a large television, a couch and a few chairs beside it, the floor was wooden boards, a fireplace could be seen in the corner. But obviously, it wouldn't be lit in summer.

Two young men could be seen sitting on the couch staring at the tv playing a video game, as this was their one time to relax, they would take it with joy. They almost didn't even notice the fact that their mother and little brother returned, they were too focused on the game they were playing.

"Waahh" A baby's cry sounded out down the hallway. A door was widely opened, inside was the source of the cry. Chloe let go of Lachlan and let out a sigh, her eyes had small bags under them from exhaustion.

"Sigh, Adam and Jack you two should talk to Lachlan while I take care of Sarah, okay?" Chloe questioned but in a demanding tone.

The two boys nodded their heads without taking their eyes off the screen. Taking that as a yes, she placed Lachlan in front of them before strolling quickly towards the baby's room.

Jack stood up, he was roughly 6'4 with short black hair, he had a rather masculine physique, mainly from all the sports he does at school. He fit tightly in his clothes, a plain light blue shirt with navy blue shorts.

"Hey, little Lachy come see what Jack and I caught," Adam said with excitement in his voice, although he seemed to act in an adult manner, secretly he still kept his childish emotions as well. However, it has been useful, able to make entertainment of the most basic of things.

Before Lachlan could even respond Jack grabbed his arm with his large hand and dragged him towards his old room. Lachlan hated it when his brother bossed him around, he always took it as an insult, just because you were born earlier doesn't automatically make you better.

When they got to the room there was a large glass enclosure with a large lizard inside, the lizard was quite large. It seemed to be relaxing in the enclosure, it didn't react at all the everyone coming into the room.

However, that wasn't what caught Lachlan's attention, he was to busy staring at the two new screens that popped up in front of him. He was beginning to slightly understand them, just not as much as he'd hope.

--------------------------------------------------------

Name: Jack Wilson (Human)

Age: 19 (Teenager)

Species Characteristics: Extremely Intelligent

Potential: 8th Grade Potential

Current Condition: Healthy

--------------------------------------------------------

Name: Adam Wilson (Human)

Age: 18 (Teenager)

Species Characteristics: Extremely Intelligent

Potential: 8th Grade Potential

Current Condition: Perfect

--------------------------------------------------------

From what he's seen so far, these Species Characteristics were what defined that species as unique. Such as snakes and scorpions having poison as a weapon or the human's inordinately intelligence which lets them surpass all others.

Lachlan was beginning to get annoyed by the constant barrage of screens, he couldn't even understand what some of the information meant, it was just a hindrance. He tried to wave it away, his action caught attention from his two brothers who stared at him weirdly. Lachlan hadn't realised that it looked as though he was waving to the lizard.

After that plan failed he attempted to think of a could of news ones. He tried it out and a new screen popped up, one that excited Lachlan.

--------------------------------------------------------

Change automatic analysis to manual command?

Yes No

--------------------------------------------------------

Lachlan happily nodded his head. Unfortunately, that didn't work, as such, he continued to stare at this screen for a few more seconds, with no knowledge of how to click yes, he attempted to touch it only to have his hand slip right through it.

His brothers got more intrigued by Lachlan's unusual behaviours. They thought they were weird, well at least they now have Lachlan to make themselves feel better.

Of course, Lachlan was almost oblivious to them, or rather he didn't want to acknowledge them.

It took 10 more seconds before he finally had an idea, he lowed his head and breathed out slowly but loudly.

While staring at the screen he muttered, "Yes," under his breath, trying to mask the sound so his brothers don't get suspicious.

--------------------------------------------------------

Confirmed, please create a code word for the information screens

--------------------------------------------------------

Lachlan was excited that his theory was correct, he almost jumped in victory but quickly didn't when he realised his brothers were staring at him.

"You looked like an idiot Lachy, just look at the lizard like a normal person, no need to start flailing your arms about in shock. It isn't the first time you've seen a lizard is it?" Adam asked while attempting to sound serious as he hid his laughter.

Lachlan completely ignored him, he had another priority in front of him. He was trying to think of a code word now, but couldn't think of any good enough right off the bat. So, he gave up and just went with something generic.

"Analyse" Lachlan muttered, it was a common word Lachlan used at school when writing science reports, something he solely despised. However, He enjoyed using the word, it helps him sound more sophisticated in front of his family.

--------------------------------------------------------

Confirmed

--------------------------------------------------------

While this was going on his two brothers were staring and softly giggling at Lachlan, then staring at each other before laughing again. They couldn't hold back any longer, they never knew their brother could change so much within a year.

Snapping out of his own little world Lachlan was extremely embarrassed and his face turned a bit red/pink, he couldn't believe he did all of that while his brothers were watching him. He realised he went back into his own little world, a world he goes to frequently, where there is only him and whatever he's doing.

"Little Lachy you looked like an idiot, what were you doing?" Jack questioned him. Lachlan began to stare at Jack in silence, his face still red from embarrassment. He then looked to Jack's side towards Adam, who was even bigger than Jack despite him being younger. It was a fact Adam constantly bragged about, it made Jack slightly jealous, they've even had a few fights over it.

Lachlan's silence made Jack feel slightly awkward, as such, didn't bother to ask anymore, in his mind he most likely just brushed it off as some weird acting. In Lachlan's mind, on the other hand, he was celebrating that he managed to weird them out.

"Anyway, Lachlan you should come over here and look at the Bearded Dragon we caught," Jack said before walking over to the glass enclosure and staring through. Lachlan walked up to look through as well, in front of him was a Bearded Dragon, roughly 50cm long. It was a large one alright, Lachlan was surprised Jack and Adam caught it.

"Analyse" Lachlan whispered, managing to not get heard by his brothers as they had a bit a chit chat about the lizard. He began to read to information screen for the lizard.

--------------------------------------------------------

Age: Adult

Physical Strengths: Strong bite force and a moderately large body

Physical Weakness: Movement speed

Species Characteristics: Low-Grade poison stored within the glands

--------------------------------------------------------

When he finished reading the screen disappeared. He then resumed having small chats with his brothers before walking towards the baby's room where his mother was. Walking in he noticed the small baby help within Chloe's arms, fast asleep.

Chloe was sitting on a rocking chair, it was a chair all of them have grown rather close to as it was used with them as well.

"What's wrong Lachlan, didn't like talking with your brothers? Want to hold Sarah?" She asked, a smile wide across her face, showing her clean white teeth, her eyes slightly squinting.

"No thanks mum, just wanted to say good night, I'm going to bed now" Lachlan responded.

"Okay, make sure to have a shower first," she said.

Lachlan nodded then headed towards the bathroom. When in the bathroom he stared at his reflection in the mirror.
