It's been 1 year since the proper awakening and Lachlan couldn't get his information screen out of his mind.
Whenever he thought back to it, or went and analysed himself in the mirror again, a shocking truth revealed that he was only half human and he had no clue as to what the other half could be. He analysed his mum, again and again, only to confirm that she was fully human. He also analysed his dad during a visit, he was also human. This gave him conflicting emotions, as it would mean that his mother mated with another being.
He has been constantly hinting towards the fact while talking to his mum in an attempt she might say something, it never worked. After a while he even straight out asked her, she always responded with the same reply.
"You're Lachlan, the son of Darius and I," Chloe said calmly every time, she was also slightly disappointed Lachlan kept asking the same question as if he doubted her.
However, for Lachlan, he never believed it, Darius is the father of everyone else but him. It was a hard truth Lachlan could never get over, he would always just try to leave it at the back of his mind. But it constantly bugged him.
He wanted to know more, he had to find out what that other half was. He secretly went through all the photo albums, trying to find someone different, someone, that didn't look completely human.
It constantly annoyed him that Adam, Jack, and Sarah are all fully human but he was only half, something that never made any sense. There was almost no way a person could have a baby with something other than another person unless the other being was some sort of hybrid human.
After a couple of times, Lachlan stopped asking as she seemed to have no idea what he was talking about and was growing concerned as to why I kept asking. Her tone began to change as well, seemingly getting angrier.
A good thing though was that throughout the year Lachlan discovered more features about his eyes, which further intrigued his curiosity. One of his discoveries is that he can even see information screens for animals seen through a computer screen such as a tv or laptop or photo, which is why he went through the photo album.
He remembers begging his mum to get him a laptop for his birthday, he said it was for study and in a sense it was, school study just wasn't the priority. While it wasn't the study his mother expected, seeing it was all about animals she didn't mind, she thought she might be getting interested in becoming a VET or something along those lines.
Lachlan remembers laughing at the idea that it could work through visual screens but attempted anyway, curiosity was one of Lachlan's biggest features. Of course, he still had to have a majority of the body to analyse it.
One time It was during an animal documentary on Sperm Whales, he was watching it with his mother, while his brothers were studying for their course in their room, all while his sister slept in her little cradle.
The information screen that appeared was frightening, to say the least. It was the strongest one his ever seen.

Through this, he discovered a few other 2nd Grade Potential, some of the animals that reached this level were Orcus, Silverback Gorillas and Barbary Lions. Although Lachlan tried, he could never find an animal beyond 2nd Grade Potential. Even after a year of searching.
Another Discovery was the storage setting. Sitting down Lachlan mumbled something beneath his breath.
"Storage, animals, land, carnivore" Lachlan said.

He also made the connection that the current condition meant the time when the animal was filmed or photographed, as the Barbary Lion he saw was from a photograph that was taken years ago and is most likely dead by now. In the photo, the lion's leg looked slightly injured, as if it was shot by someone, probably a poacher.
He felt someone suddenly tug the back of the collar on his shirt, looking looked towards the source he saw his mother, Chloe, staring at him.
"What are you doing Lachlan? staring at thin air and mumbling to yourself," Chloe asked, she had a spatula in her hands as she was in the middle of making lunch.
"Nothing really, just thinking and talking to myself" Lachlan replied, he got used to lying, at first it felt unusual but now it was almost naturally. Although Lachlan couldn't be certain whether it was a trait someone would want to have.
"Okay, get properly dressed, in one hour we'll be going to see your grandparents," Chloe said.
Lachlan nodded before walking to his bedroom to change. After getting dressed he walked out and sat on the couch, Chloe was sitting there as well watching the news. There wasn't really anything new or different, a couple of drunks fought, and the weather is still unbearable.
"Breaking news, not long ago the President of America has announced a frightening statement, one that I suggest you all sit down and listen to, as the information said will heavily impact your lives," Said the handsome news reporter, however, in his eyes showed a deep fear as they shook.
A clip appeared on the tv, there were the president and a bunch of other important figures within the government, the president seated in the presidency office with people such as the defence minister and a few generals behind him.
"Today, I'm here to address the world, 8 months ago it was discovered that a large celestial body three times larger than Earth is coming towards us. After months of research, we have concluded that there is no stopping it, and there is no destroying it," The president paused and stared at the camera.
"In 15 days that celestial body will reach Earth and destroy it. However, do not fear, although the destruction of Earth is imminent, the end of humanity is yet to come. Our scientists have worked for many days in creating our hope, and many months ago did it. We called it the Ark, it can hold up to 1245 people, we have created 30 of these Arks to save a total of 37350 carefully selected individuals. These individuals were selected for their intelligence, personality, physical condition and any possible criminal records"
"In 10 days we are going to launch our first Ark and after that many will follow. In this time of darkness, I hope that people will not turn to violence and create chaos, but rather remain calm and cheer on for the chosen. See you on the other side" The feed was cut and the reporter appeared back on the screen, showing her disbelief at the statement.
It was shocking the say the least, even news channels didn't know how to respond to this new information.
Lachlan, on the other hand, didn't know why, but he felt genuine fear for the first time in his life, a deep primitive fear coming from the very core of his being that's been long sealed away.
Lachlan couldn't stop it, he began to cry, he quickly grabbed his Mother, holding on her arm tightly he continued to cry in her embrace.
But Lachlan wasn't the only one crying while embracing her son Chloe was crying, she felt fear not only for herself but fear for her children.
Streams of tears rolled down their face and dripped onto their laps.
"Mum, are we going to die?" Lachlan asked, his voice shaking at the thought. Chloe didn't know how to respond, she could only bring Lachlan closer to her and continue to hug him.

After that announcement panic quickly spread across the world, people began to create chaos, attacking people and stealing anything just for fun. After all, the worlds going to end and they're all going with it.
There were few that hid within their homes, spending that last few days with their loved ones.
The least they can do is spend the last few days doing actions that they've always wanted to do at least once in their life.
The police force was still in action, although they wanted to see their families, they didn't want others to see their families die. Their actions brought upon the support, civilians began to pick up arms and help.
