Staring at each other the Rocs seemed to come to a mutual agreement, the next move will determine who dies. Obviously, the stronger Roc was confident that it would be the one to come out on top.

Taking advantage of its height, the stronger Roc closed its wings, shaping itself to be a bullet. It began to descend at insane speeds, quickly creating at large shock to echo throughout Alice Springs due to the air splitting around it.

The weaker Roc noticing what was about to happen attempted to move, only slightly dodging the attack, barely preventing it from hitting any vital points but instead crushing it's left wing. It cried out in pain but quickly took advantage of the situation.

The stronger Roc was shocked after hitting the ground at such speeds, recoiled its head back, the shock almost caused it to pass out, it still hasn't adapted to this new found power.

The weaker Roc quickly began to jab it's opponent's neck stunning it more, before jumping up slightly to grab its wings. Along the way it flapped its left wing, spraying the Roc's eyes with blood, causing temporary blindness.

Once it had gotten hold of the wings it began ripping them, blood and feathers spread around them.

The stronger Roc screeched in pain, quickly turning its head around it bit the other's throat, ripping a small bit of it quickly before it did it again, again and again, trying to rip its throat apart.

Weakened and almost dead, the Roc fell down, taking advantage of that the other Roc got on top of it, placing one talon on the throat and the other around its head before ripping the head off.

It stretched out its neck and screeched in victory, its blooded neck and beak made it look terrifying. If someone zoomed in they could see the people hiding in the houses near it, shaking in fear.

...

As the fight ended, Chloe had already started the car and hid it behind the large trees. She turned the car off to not attract any attention, the car was silent, so was the surrounding environment. The boys were on the edge of their seats observing their surroundings.

Chloe quickly took out her phone and called her Husband, Darius. Fortunately, although the world changed everything outside of space stayed there, most of it anyway. Any of the closer satellites were quickly taken down due to the Earth's gravity.

*Bzzt, Bzzt* *Bzzt, Bzzt*

"Hey, Chloe are you alright?! Where are you, are you safe? Where are the kids, are they safe? What about the town, is it alright? Do you think they could fly a plane to Adelaide?" Darius began rapidly firing off questions, his voice filled with concern.

Chloe began answering everything quickly and calmly, "Yes I'm alright and I'm currently on top of the hills, the kids are with me and they are safe, the town has certainly seen better days, but it seems alright and I really wouldn't suggest flying anything".

"Huh, why's that?" Darius questioned over the phone his voice sounded confused, they could almost hear him frowning.

"Maybe because I just saw two birds the size of a house fight, one of which was able to break the sound barrier when descending. That beast could tear a damn plane in two if it wanted," Chloe responded.

"Anyway, you should probably get out of Alice Springs, either drive towards me or Darwin and make sure you do it discretely," Darius said.

"Why? Why can't we stay in Alice Springs?" Chloe asked Darius.

"Because it'll be dangerous, many venomous/poisonous animals and insects have probably evolved, and you'll be surrounded with no protection. Not to mention you won't be getting any sort of supplies anytime soon, with those beasts wandering about no one's risking their life," Darius responded with.

"Huh, okay. I'll head your direction, after all, it'll be a while before planes are flying again if at all. Where will you be staying? The mines are certainly a no go as well right?" Chloe said.

"Okay, I'll be waiting in Mount Barker and yeah, those mines are definitely a no go, haha," Darius said and chuckled before hanging up.

Staring at everyone else in the car Chloe informed them, "We'll be going to Darius. Jack and Adam keep a constant lookout for any unusual movements in the surroundings, Lachlan you also keep a lookout but try to make sure Sarah stays happy".

Jack, Adam, and Lachlan nodded, Chloe began navigating the car through the large trees and thick shrubbery. Slipping past the gap between the fence they made it on the road next to the petrol station.

Lachlan was also in the back in the left seat, Jack on the right side and Sarah in the middle, she was in a baby seat. Lachlan gave it a rock every now and then, it kept her relaxed for some reason.

Everyone was on high alert, making sure to look everywhere when they stared out their window. They were especially checking out the treetops, making sure nothing drops down on them.

Taking a quick look in front of car Chloe noticed the road had cracks and gaps covering it, thick tree/bush roots channelling underneath and through the road. The vegetation looked like it went wild, probably like everything around them.

Chloe looked towards the petrol station, deciding whether or not to refuel and stock up on food or not. However, before she could decide blood splashed across the windows of the petrol station. A high pitched screech could be heard inside. A large shadow silhouette could be seen, but due to their location, the windows were heavily tinted.

Someone quickly came running out, half their body drenched in blood terror written across their faces with an overwhelming amount of tears pouring out.

But before they could even get 10 metres away a spiderweb shot out from the station encasing the person and dragging it back in. The person was screaming and crying, noticing the car they begun to stare at them yelling, begging for some help. They were trying to claw their way out of the web, the skin on their fingers was scratched off.

Chloe was frozen at her steering wheel, she had never seen a person killed before and didn't want to, it brought terror to the deepest parts of her soul. But her body was preventing her from helping like it was an instinct, making her fear whatever beast was inside the station.

Seeing no help coming, the person could only accept what was about to happen, closing their eyes and covering their ears will maybe making it less scary, they were hoping it would be over soon. A massive leg shot out of the station, crushing the person's head, it then shot back into the station along with the body.

Lachlan tried to analyse the beast in the station but couldn't get a good look at the body. He could only see a silhouette at the back of the store through the window.

Chloe finally managed to snap out of it and started driving again, only going 20 - 30km/h due to the road's condition. A minute went by and they were finally on the main road, although the main road's situation wasn't any better than the side road, at least the middle part was clear of any holes.

Chloe began accelerating, 20, 30, 40, 50, up to 60km/h before she stopped accelerating after, all the road was messy, and she didn't want any unexpected holes to appear in front of her, driving a slow car was better than having no car.

Driving down Stuart Highway, she knew their next stop will be Stuarts Well Roadhouse, they had driven along this way before for a vacation, they should be able to refuel and get food, well, at least she hoped.
