A few days after the Leader’s shocking words
Every order gathered to hear the words of the leader of the Order of Knights of the Kingdom.
「We are going to head to the Northern Plains from here on out! Every respective Order needs to form a file of troops! Now let’s go!!」

It seems that it’s quite a distance to the Northern Plains.
Until we get there, we have to prepare food for every kishidan. And of course, most of the groups are only eating rye bread and dried fruits.
However, the Lint Bloom Kishidan has the cook Kio.
When the sun sets, the leader of the Order of our Kingdom will stop the marching.
「We’re done for today! Everyone be sure to properly eat and sleep! And of course don’t be negligent in having a lookout at night!」
「Hah, we can finally rest.」
「What are you saying, Kio. Isn’t your work cooking?」
「Ahh! That’s right-」
「Look, just as you asked, I brought the seasoning and ingredients. It was pretty heavy, you know.」
「Yes, I’ll cook, I’ll cook.」
Hm, that’s right. I don’t really want to use the ingredients.
As I thought, I have to go hunting.
「I’m sorry, I’m going to go hunting for a little bit. Can I borrow a spear?」
「I don’t mind but, are you going to hunt in that forest over there?」
「Thank you very much. Yes, in that forest.」
「Well, since it’s Kio, I guess there’s no problem but it’d probably be best if you took one person with you.」
「Ah, yes. I understand. 」
I went into the forest with Sakura-san.
Sara-san is one of the captains. She normally does not talk much so it was silent.

「What is it Sara-san?」
Sara-san pointed further into the forest.

「Uwah! Go- goblin?」
What jumped out from beyond the forest were green small beings, three of them. In their hands was a club, and on their backs were very dirty rolled-up cloths.
「Hm, goblins. You’ve been beat even by children, this is a good opportunity to see your real skills.」
「Eh, my real skills? What are you saying-, if it gets dangerous, can you help me-?」
「Yep, leave it to me.」
I went for my knife instead of the spear.
And the result was,
「Guhah! Gah! …Wait, Sto… Ga!」
I was full of holes because of the goblins.
「Sara-san! Stop looking and save me!」
「Hm? I got it」
Sara-san reduced the distance and cut the goblins down in an instant.
「Why didn’t you save me earlier!」
「Mm, I thought it was part of your plan.」
「What kind of plan is that!」
At any rate, even though I was almost killed by goblins, we went deeper into the forest in order to make food.
After going into the forest for a while, Sara-san stopped.
「Mm, dangerous here, return.」
「Eh?」
She suddenly stopped and said that.
「What’s ahead of here?」
「Mm, I sense a very strong demonic presence.」
Then
「Buhi buhi!*」
*TL: A reminder, sounds of pig oinks.
This sound is! That pig noble!!
「Mm, it really is an orc. Run Kio.」
What the hell, it’s a real orc?
「But Sara-san. We’re surrounded.」
「…No choice. Fight. 」
We were already surrounded by dozens of orcs.
Sara-san unsheathed her sword and cut them down.
I can’t win against things like goblins or orcs so I ran away.
After a short time of running around, the orcs’ numbers significantly decreased.
「Uwah, Sara-san, you’re amazing. You beat all of them.」
Around us were 30 orc corpses.
「Mm, let’s leave this forest now. There should be a leader amongst this many orcs.」
「Um~, is it the orc standing over there?」
In front of us was an obviously different orc amongst all of the orcs.
Normally, orc’s skin is yellow, but this orc’s skin was black. And his size was twice the size of regular orc’s bodies.
「Mm, that’s the orc king. It’s just as strong as a cockatrice. Impossible to run away.」
It really seemed like hell after that.
To start with, once the orc king appeared, all the orcs showed up and started attacking us.
As expected of Sara, the numbers got her blood pumping. Even so, she never got a single scratch. However, the situation only got worse as we were outnumbered.
And now, in front of my eyes is that orc king brandishing an axe.
「Kio! … KUH」
Sara-san was surrounded by many orcs and could not move.
The axe was swung at me. Without thinking, I closed my eyes and guarded.
CLANG!!
However, no matter how much time passed, the blow never came. I timidly opened my eyes.
The orc king’s axe was broken and his eyes rounded as he stood about.
「What?」
I began pressing myself repeatedly to confirm that my body was okay, and relief came.
「Sara-san! This is an awkward question but can you eat orcs?」
「…Yep, orcs have a nice fatty flavor…」
I understand now. Orcs are food! *TL: NO DUH.
I looked at the orc king and the corners of my mouth formed a smile.
「Ei*!」

I aimed my spear at the orc king’s heart. A plain stab with no technique. The orc king died without even a response.
At this point, you can understand without even a word.
Since I am invincible against orcs (ingredients) I instantly killed all the orcs around Sara-san.
「… No way, the orc king has too much fat, knives can’t get through. To get it in one thrust…」
Anyhow, we were safe and I was able to get some ingredients so we headed back to the Order.
「You’re late, Kio.」
The one who spoke to us was the Vice Captain.
「We were attacked by an orc king.」
「What! You said orc king! Are you okay!?」
「Yes, but」
「I don’t understand why, but Kio was beaten black and blue by goblins but somehow instantly killed the orc king. All my common sense has crumbled.」
The leader then says,
「Well, it’s because it’s Kio.」
Just those words.
At any rate, everyone was hungry so I had to make something.
Let’s make that!
I cut up the orc king’s meat. Score the meat. Use the back of the knife to pound it, shape, sprinkle salt and pepper.
Dip the pork in weak flour. Shake off the excess weak flower. After that, dip it in beaten eggs.
Place the meat on the panko*, and then put the surrounding panko on top. Then brush off the excess panko.
*TL: Japanese style breadcrumbs
Now once more, repeat the process. For the coating to stick, leave it alone for at least 10 minutes.
There’s a lot to do so it’s difficult! But it’s because food should be delicious!
Put it in the oil, take it out when it is slightly light brown. Once it’s out, turn off the fire.
Fry it twice. Put the meat in the oil which is a little higher in temperature than before, and take it out when it is a good light brown color.
Garnish the finished tonkatsu* with finely chopped cabbage and tomatoes.
*TL: Google this wonderful pork cutlet. So hungry.
「It’s done!!」
I really wanted to make katsudon*, but we don’t have rice.
*TL: tonkatsu on top of rice topped with egg and soy sauce YUM
「Mm, such a nice smell.」
「Ah, Sara-san. I’ve finished, can you call everyone, oh, everyone’s already here.」
「Of course, if you hear that wonderful frying sound, we would end up coming!」
The food was distributed to everyone.
「Etto, I made something called tonkatsu today. The name is katsu, so I thought it would be a good omen* and made it.」
TL: *Katsu also means win in Japanese, hence, good omen.
「Now, let’s say thank you for our ingredients… itadakimasu.」
「「Itadakimasu!!」」
「Wooahh! It’s crispy-!」
「Mm, yummy…」
「H- hey. We still haven’t heard what this meat is…」
「Yes, this is an orc king.」
