The sun was set, the sky turned into black. The full bright moon hung highly in dark, many stars blinked around the moon. White light shone into the village which was surrounded by vast forest.
In the center arena of the village, a huge campfire was set in the middle. Villagers threw wooden occasionally into the fire, allowing the fire to burn for a longer time. Men and ladies of the village were dancing around the campfire, some of the men with beard drank the pink wine with the soldier by sitting on the wooden chair. The sound of joy filled the festival, they certainly enjoyed the festival.
Men used sharp knives to cut off the meat of deer into pieces, the women cooked the meat with the hot campfire. They pierced the meat through a wooden with one of sharp end, then pierced the other part of those wooden on the ground beside the campfire. Until the meats were cooked, they sprinkled salt on the cooked meat and ate. The method of cooking was raw and simple, yet it was normal way for a villager to cook their foods.
By looking at their happy faces, Kane could tell that they probably enjoyed themselves in the festival. He sat on a round wooden far away from the campfire, looking those men and ladies dancing. Some of loud laugh from the soldier echoed while drinking the wine, they cheered to each other and drank heavily.
Kane didn't join them, just took a far look on them. He felt a bit weird for him to join the festival totally as he was just the first day coming to this village, or maybe it could be said his first day coming to this new world.
He was anxiety and didn't know his future in this world which was far different from the one he came from. Normally in the previous world, he would probably do a lot of part-time jobs to earn money to make living on his own, later tried to get a quite good result and furthered his study in universities. But now, he had no ideas what would happen to him, no clues about his future in this world of magic and hanging creatures.
Upon thinking, his vision was focus aimlessly on the ground. He heard sound of footsteps on hard soil closing to him, the sound was getting closer and louder. He raised his head, a familiar face fell into his eyes.
" Give it try. The meats are tasty. " A man full of short beard stood in front of Kane, handing over a wooden plate full of cooked deer meats. Those meats were just cooked, the smell of the cooked meats could smell by him and made his stomach rumbling.
" You certainly are hungry. Come on and eat. If these are not enough for you, you can have more. " John spoke with a friendly smile. Just now, he saw Kane sitting alone in one side, thus he decided to take some food and drinks to this lonely young boy.
" Thanks. " Kane took the cooked meats and ate. This was his first meal in the new world, although the method of cooking was simple, the cooked meats were delicious as the meats were fresh and tender, far more the meats on Earth could compete.
" Well, you can try this as well. " John handed over the drink on his hand to Kane. Kane took the drink and gave it a try.
" Kee…Kee… it is hot and burning. " Just some drinking, Kane could feel intense hot and burning while the liquid flowing down along his throat.
" Haha… you cannot endure the burning heat of the wine. Maybe you are still too young for it. Wait for me, I will bring you some fruit juice. " John burst in laugh, he found it funny by seeing a young man coughing and couldn't use to the wines originated from his village. Later, he came back again with a wooden glass on his hand.
Kane was not heavy drank or had great obsession with the wives, but he would drink some when celebrating festivals. The wine was too strong compared to what he drank previously, the smell of the wine was intense as well. He drank the fruit juice and felt better.
" It will probably take some time to get used to life in this village. The villagers are kind and hospitality. Don't worry, I think you can join our big family in a short time. "
John showed his big smile again to Kane. He tried to break the wall inside Kane's hearts, sincerely hoped that Kane could get used to his new life in this village. He was then called by some other villages, he walked towards them and had more fun of drinking.
Before John's leaving, Kane nodded his head and smile sincerely to John. His heart was really touched by the man who tried hard to help him, he was alone for a long time. This was his first time being cared by someone who was not his family member, he appreciated John's kindness and helping hands. He thought in his heart, he would treat John well and helped him in the future if John faced troubles.
After finishing food and drink, he decided to come back to his new home. Before turning his back, he saw a beautiful face with burning red hair.
She was chatting with the female villagers and drank with them. Compared to her soldiers who drank wine roughly, some even raised their glass highly allowing the wine pour into their mouths, she drank wine slowly and elegant aura could be seen by Kane. She really had a great time as well, Kane thought in his heart.
" Should I greet her? " Kane asked himself. He then shook his head and left the festival scene.

" Oh! Pain! " He pinched his cheek with his full strength. This showed clearly that he was not dreaming. What he saw, what had happened to him and what he felt, all was real.
" But, I am alive. " He revealed a sigh of relief. At least, he was still alive after going through many incidents, staying alive was always the most important matter for living beings.
He looked at his hands, he could sense an energy flow inside. Many of the feelings he couldn't sense before were sensible now. After his soul was infused by the spiritual energy from the book, his mind became clearer and five senses were highly improved.
He walked to the middle of house and sat on the chair. His hands had recovered from injury but the headache still remained, he unwrapped the white bandage on his hands.
A slight smile was shown on his face, mixing of bitter and anxiety. What am I going to do? He kept asking himself, this world was brutal as depicted in the novel. The world was based on the law of jungle, the power is key for one to survive. Without power, one couldn't even protect himself. Without strength, he would probably stay in this village forever as it was difficult for him to even move a step into the deep side of the forest.
What he needed the most was power.
" Cheer up, Kane! Think positively, nothing couldn't be solved by positive thinking and endless effort, unless you have already given up. " Kane spoke to himself, tried to think positively.
" I must get used to this world as soon as possible. This world has no place for crying baby, I must obtain the power to survive and protect the person I care. "
" At first, I need to connect with the book in my mind. That book certainly posses marvelous power that will make me strong. " Kane had decided what he supposed to do currently. He must reveal the secret of the book, he believed that the book would give him power just like before in the forest.
He closed eyes, control his breath to make himself calm. He was focusing all his mind on the mysterious book. The image was blur initially but got clearer as more mind concentrated on it. The book was same as always and stayed floating within his mind.
" What actually is this book about? A magic book or book posses power to travel someone. " Kane wondered the usage of the book. He tried to connect himself to the book again. He took a deep breath and focus all his mind again on the book, yet nothing had changed.
He tried numerous times to connect with the book, the book still remained silent in his mind.
" Why can't I connect to the book just like the time I was in the jungle? Am I use the wrong way? " Kane asked himself, recalling his memories back to find out the answer for his question.
" At that time, I just focusing my mind to connect the book. But before that, I was in an urgent situation and sharp emotion, perhaps it was the reason to work. " Kane tried to imagine himself in a dangerous condition, focusing his mind as well.
" Ah… Help me! Help me! " Imaging himself was under a dangerous situation, he kept screaming for asking help.
" Help me! I am going to die, somebody help me!"
