Mally and Lazren's growls became low and guttural. Yet Kyera didn't stand up, and Kan ignored the pair. He knew they would not understand him, but they were both easy to kill if he so wished. However Kyera wouldn't take kindly to that and she was a formidable foe.

He could feel Kyera's eyes inspecting every inch of his expression and body language. Kan did his best to reveal everything to her without being obvious. This was more important than old battles. One day, she would know the truth, till then he would suffer her temper.

"How dare you threaten her after all you have done." Mally growled her heart still bleeding from his words was obvious. He wondered for a brief moment if he had pushed too far. Kyera was obviously more controlled than this little kitten. He had expected the opposite since she had been serving in the palace so long.

"Mally, It wasn't a threat. He doesn't veil threats and give warning. He attacks at night without warning. This is something he fears also, or he wouldn't be here." Kyera replied coolly, her voice softly soothing. Mallu seemed to consider her words and nod. Kan couldn't help but chuckle.

"That is true. I have no wish to see our kind wiped out by the human pests. I have heard whispers of the banished ones returning. Kyera, I don't have to remind you what their goal is or at what length they would go to for it." his cool silver eyes met her molten golden soul. Whether his words fell on deaf ears or not was still to be seen. Her expression was very careful not to show her thoughts. However, he could tell she was considering am attack or discover his intentions he wondered.

"You don't have to remind me. I remember very well what they are like. The only son we allowed to return murdered the ones who pardoned him." Kyera replied meeting his eyes, the accusation clear in her eyes. Kan bowed his head.

"Just be careful, Princess Moon." he replied standing again as Kyera stood as well. She sensed him moments before he stepped behind her.

"Moon, who are your friends?" a familiar voice asked from several feet behind her. Kyera glanced behind herself to see Prince Clovis standing at her back.

"It is unimportant." Kyera replied shocking the shifters by speaking. Kan tilted his head watching her curiously. "Prince, there won't be trouble here. They were simply here to warn me of trouble in the forest." she explained looking up at him with gentled fierceness in her eyes.

"I see, are you alright?" he asked her and Kyera nodded.

"My friends and I are done here. They will contact me properly in the future. Sorry to worry you, My Prince." Kyera added shooting a look at the three shifters. They nodded and turned to leave. Kan hesitated before dashing after them.

"Thank you for your support, my friends." Kyera spoke to Mally and Lazren, her voice more formal but less controlled. Lazren's shock wore off first as he bowed his head.

"You are most welcome, My Lady Moon." he replied nodding at the prince before sinking into the shadows. Mally followed after him, honestly unable to wrap her head around speaking to the prince in her current form. Kyera nodded watching both walk away. On one hand she was glad they were there. On the other she had not truly wanted them to find out this way.

"Let us go home, Moon." Clovis suggested, turning back up the path. Kyera's eyes were pulled to the familiar forest to the south. Home. Yes she wanted to go home, but Kan was right. If that clan was gathering, she best not return yet. The forest would never be safe again if she did. That wasn't a chance she was willing to take. For the good of her people Kyera turned her face north and continued in the Prince's footsteps and into the gilded cage she called home.
