"Are you okay, Kyera?" Clovis asked, wrapping an arm around his pale wife. It was then Kyera's mind and senses withdrew from that scene. She could feel his touch, hear the drumbeats, and smell the meat's fragrance in the air. It was almost a bad dream, but she felt tired. A weight perched on her chest as she tried to breath deeply and shake it off. She had to be too tired. There was no other explanation… or at least none she would accept. "Here, let me take Kyera out for some air. You and Talis wait for Raina. I can take care of my sister." He assured the worried husband before taking Kyera from him. Clovis was unsure, but Raina needed him and if anyone could take care of Kyera it was her brother the other 'K'.
"I am fine… just dizzy from the baby." Kyera replied her hand coming to rest on the child. As if complying with its mothers subtle hint it kicked against her hand. She smiled weakly at the child.
"Are you sure?" Clovis asked and Kyera nodded as Kendrick guided her toward the doorway. Her lies were painfully see through at the moment and she couldn't do much better. It was best to just get her out. She smiled at him and let her brother lead her to the back of the stage.
In the back, behind the stage, Kendrick set Kyera down on a crate. There was no one back here, since all the performances were on the other side and prep work was done backstage. This area was designed to be storage, neat and out of the way. It overlooked the low quarter that was now bustling with life. Many shifters had taken up residence there since their Princess became a princess of this land.
"Kyera, what did you see? I watched the magic pulse and I know that look. Father gets the same dazed expression when he looks into the Orbs of Fate." Kendrick explained as he knelt down in front of her, her eyes trying to find something deeper in her. His concern was growing, that blackness within was easier to see now, still chained but soon… it wouldn't be. He had no idea what affect that would have. What were her powers truly? She could already rewrite death… what else could there be for a demigoddess?
"I saw a battle. Shifters I think, shifters and humans fighting alongside and against one another. So much blood and death I could smell it, Kendrick. My senses, all five of them were there." Kyera sounded slightly hysterical. Her voice filled with disbelief and denial. What she saw couldn't be true. He could see in those cub like tiger eyes that whatever she saw terrified her.
"Yes, and? Kyera, tell me." Kendrick tried to ask soothingly. He wanted so badly to wrap his arms around her and sooth the fear away but he needed to know. He couldn't stop what he didn't know was coming.

"I can't … it was just a bad dream. A nightmare." Kyera tried to struggle against the emotions inside her. Desperately pushing that image away. Kendrick sighed deeply.

He wrapped both arms around his little sister and began rocking gently to make the tears subside. The words "My body lay next to Raina's." Echoed in his mind. The fact she had tried so hard to ignore in that image fell from Kyera's lips. She couldn't protect Raina from this… because she would already be dead.
