Chapter 3 – Super Memory

“Hmph, snobbish!” Ji Feng coldly cursed as he looked at the fat nurse’s back.

“Feng’er, you’ve really grown up!” Looking at her son’s body that was already half a head taller than her, and that face that still had a hint of immaturity, Xiao Sumei couldn’t help but smile with gratification.

Xiao Sumei was afraid that Ji Feng wouldn’t be able to control her temper when she fought the nurse. If he did that, the consequences would be severe.

However, the result made Xiao Sumei extremely gratified. Ji Feng calmly led the fat nurse into a trap that he had long prepared, letting her take the risk of being humiliated. This was even more vicious than beating someone up.

“Mom, like I said, in the future, I won’t let you suffer any grievances, and I won’t let others look down on you!” Ji Feng said firmly.

“Mom believes in you!” Xiao Sumei nodded in gratification.

Ji Feng suddenly thought of the fat nurse’s words and asked, “Mom, have I been unconscious for three days?”

At the mention of this, Xiao Sumei immediately became nervous, hurriedly nodding her head, and asked: “Feng’er, how do you feel right now? Is there anything wrong with it? ”

Ji Feng’s heart skipped a beat as he looked at his mother, who had just turned 40 years old. He could not help but feel a sharp pain in his heart. In order to raise himself, just how much suffering had his mother endured?!

“Mom, don’t worry. I’m fine. Look! ” Ji Feng brandished his fist. He suddenly felt as though his entire body was filled with energy. He couldn’t help but be astonished and delighted.

In the past, because his nutrition could not keep up, Ji Feng’s body was a little weak. This feeling of being full of power had never been felt before!

“He must have been lying in the hospital for the past few days, resting well in order to gain strength!” Ji Feng guessed.

Seeing that her son didn’t seem to be pretending, Xiao Sumei felt relieved.

Ji Feng said, “Mom, let’s go. I’ve fully recovered.”

“Let’s go!” Xiao Sumei sighed lightly. If it wasn’t because she was short of money, how could she bear to leave the hospital when her son had just woken up?

The moment the two of them walked out of the ward, they saw the fat nurse standing in the corridor, looking at them with disdain.

Seeing the two leave, the nurse muttered in disdain, “Humph! Pauper, you don’t have any money, yet you still have the nerve to be hospitalized! ”

Ji Feng’s countenance instantly darkened. He coldly snorted, “Hmph!”

Xiao Sumei patted her son’s back and whispered, “Feng’er, forget it!”

Ji Feng took in a deep breath and nodded his head, “Mom, let’s go!”

Walking out of the hospital, Ji Feng could not help but take a few deep breaths of the fresh air outside. The smell of the medicine in the hospital was too pungent, making him very uncomfortable.

“Feng’er, put your things on the carriage!” Xiao Sumei rode her family’s only tricycle over from under a nearby parking shed.

Ji Feng guiltily asked, “Mom, in the past few days, for the sake of taking care of me, I’ve delayed you from selling vegetables, right?”

“Silly child!” Xiao Sumei walked up and smilingly patted Ji Feng’s head, “Mom is selling vegetables for your sake. If something were to happen to you, then no matter how much money you earn, what use would it be!”

Ji Feng patted his head and chuckled. He could feel the love his mother had for him.

“Oh, right. Mom, it’s still early. I’m not going home. Let’s go to school first!” Ji Feng suddenly thought of something and said, “I missed three days of lessons right at the start of the school term. It would be best for me to make up for this earlier!”

Xiao Sumei advised, “Feng’er, I’ve already helped you take a leave of absence from school. Why don’t you go home and rest for a day? It’s not too late to go to school tomorrow!”

Ji Feng shook his head and said, “Mom, I am already in my third year, so I have to hurry and study. I will definitely try my best!”

Seeing that her son was so insistent, Xiao Sumei no longer tried to persuade him. Instead, she happily nodded and said: “Fine, Mom will go buy some meat this afternoon. When you return home from school tonight, I’ll give you a good supplement!”

Ji Feng nodded with a smile as he separated from his mother and went to school.

As she watched her son’s back, the smile on Xiao Sumei’s face gradually turned into a sorrowful expression. She muttered under her breath, “My son is going to be relying on university, but the tuition fees ….”

She gritted her teeth and muttered to herself in a low voice, “No matter what, even if I have to use all kinds of methods, I must make Feng’er go to university!”

… ….

Entering Mang Shi County’s Second Senior High School once again, Ji Feng felt as if he had been given a new lease of life. Three days ago, on the sports field of No. 2 High School, Hu Xuehui had said those heartless words.

“Everything is over!” Ji Feng firmly said to himself, “Ji Feng, you are not alone. For the sake of your bitter mother, you must work hard. You might be looked down by others, but you can’t make your mother be the same as you, looked down upon by others! ”

After tidying up his clothes, Ji Feng walked back to his classroom with a calm expression.

Ji Feng’s class was Mang Shi’s second, third, and sixth grade class, on the second floor of the school.

It was around ten in the morning and the school was very quiet. They were probably in class.

Arriving at the entrance of the classroom, Ji Feng turned to the teacher who was busy lecturing, “Reporting in, I’m late!”

The teacher was a middle-aged man in his fifties, wearing a pair of very amiable eyes. He nodded and said, “Come in!”

The moment Ji Feng entered the classroom, the gazes of all the students in the class were focused on him. There was a look of schadenfreude, disdain, and sympathy in their eyes.

Ji Feng casually walked to his seat and sat down. There was a boy sitting on the seat that was on the right side of the table where Hu Xuehui used to be.

This boy’s name was Zhang Lei, and he had been in the same class as Ji Feng since high school. He was Ji Feng’s only friend. However, no matter how hard Ji Feng tried, his results were still mediocre. However, Zhang Lei was different. Other than having an accident in class, this kid never seemed to read any books. However, every time he took the exam, he would steadily be in the top ten of the year, while his ranking would steadily be in the top three.

Along with Class 6’s Class Rep Tong Lei, who was recognized as the school beauty of No. 2 High School, and Class Rep Xu Mo, the three of them were known as Class 6’s three daggers. From this, it could be seen how good Zhang Lei’s result was!

However, from the outside, no one would think that Zhang Lei was a good student. He had a head full of yellow hair, and his shirt was open wide. He looked like someone who was living in the streets. This was Zhang Lei’s signature attire.

The moment Ji Feng sat down, Zhang Lei leaned over and said in a low voice: “Lunatic, are you alright?”

Ji Feng shook his head and whispered with a smile, “It’s nothing, I just got heatstroke!”

Zhang Lei twitched his mouth. It was obvious that he didn’t believe him. He said, “I’ve heard about the matter between you and Hu Xue Hui. It’s fine if you don’t want to be a snob. I’ll take you to Seafood Restaurant after school. Interesting, right?”

Ji Feng could not help but smile as a warm feeling flowed in his heart. He knew that in the entire class of over forty students, the only person who could sincerely comfort him was his friend, Zhang Lei!

“Next, continue with the lesson!” The teacher on the podium continued with his lecture. Ji Feng took out a book from his desk and prepared to fill in the blanks.

It had only been three days since the start of the semester, and the courses he had studied weren’t many. Ji Feng looked as though it was a walk in the park, so by the time the class ended, he had already finished reading all the content.

“Ding!”

The bell for the end of class rang. Ji Feng had just finished watching all of the lessons.

“Crazy, are you alright?” Zhang Lei, who was at the side, walked over with a smile, “We’re in physics class, what are you looking at in English?”

Ji Feng glared at him before closing the book and snorting, “Do you think that everyone knows how to learn just like you? I missed three days of lessons. If I don’t take it up now, how will I be able to get into university? Also, don’t call me crazy! ”

Zhang Lei chuckled. He didn’t care much about it. “You’re a madman in the first place!”

“You!” Ji Feng shook his head and scolded.

As the two of them chatted, Ji Feng couldn’t help but relax. He knew that Zhang Lei was trying to comfort him, so he couldn’t help but feel his heart heat up. It was only in front of his friends that he could truly relax.

Shaking his head with a smile, Ji Feng prepared to take out the textbook he had read previously. There were two questions that he was unable to understand, and he wanted to consult Zhang Lei on them.

But suddenly, Ji Feng froze.

Ji Feng discovered that when he was thinking about those two questions, the books he had read earlier flashed clearly in his mind, just like a movie.

“This is …” A photographic memory?! ” Ji Feng thought dumbly.
