Kim returned to the reception but Carl was unexpectedly not there. Whipping out her phone, she dialed his line. It rang for a few seconds no answer. She dialed his line again, there was still no answer.

'He could not have magically disappeared, why didn't he inform her? Was he taken away again?' She pondered.

She sat calmly at the reception, a while later, she got tired of waiting so she made to find him. She began her search on the ground fall before moving up. On getting to the fifth floor, she saw him speaking with another man.

The man was brawny. His looks were average, he stood astride with his hands clasped behind his back. His aura was fierce in contrast of Carl who was as calm as a river. He appeared indifferent, apparently, he was not intimidated by the man. Even his stance was leisurely.

She straightened her posture and like a confident woman, she slowly strode to them. "Good day." She greeted the man before taking her place by Carl's side.

The brawny man briefly scaled her before turning to Carl, raising a brow.

"This is Kim." Carl said before turning to Kim, "This is my trainer, his name is Hughes." The introduction was simple and straight forward.

Hughes did not like that their conversation was interrupted by Kim but he made no move to stop her since Carl said nothing. "Let's talk some other time." He stated before returning to his office. Not giving Carl a chance to refute.

"Why did you suddenly leave?" Kim questioned immediately.

"Something came up," Carl remarked, not wanting to explain.

"And you couldn't give me a call?"

Sighing, Carl spoke, "I'm sorry."

"Am I really tiring to talk to?" She asked, trying to repress her anger. How could he leave her without a word and when she finally found him instead of explaining himself, he apologized nonchalantly.

"Would please stop jumping to conclusions? I didn't leave on purpose and I couldn't contact you either." Said Carl, ruffling his hair.

"I guess I'm just an eyesore." Kim showed that sometimes she could be naggy and bitchy that was only because she needed reassurance.

"What is wrong with you? I just…" The situation earlier made him irritated and Kim was not understanding enough but was throwing a silly tantrum. "Something happened and he helped me out." Carl tried explaining.

"What happened? Why can't you tell me?"

"Why can't you understand I don't want to talk about it? Don't you have things you'd rather not talk about?" He explained as calmly as he could as he was afraid of scaring her away.

"It's different."

"Why is it different?" Carl hissed. He felt he was going crazy talking to her.

"Because those are things of the past. Right now, I'm part of your life so you have to tell me."

Sighing, he pulled her into his embrace, "You're very selfish but I still love you."

His words instantly killed her anger. "So explain."

Forty minutes prior, Carl was making arrangements for Kim when someone tapped his shoulder. From the corners of his eyes, he saw Chamberlain.

The man who tapped him simply pointed in the direction of Chamberlain before moving away.

Carl was not pleased so he ignored Chamberlain. Soon, a few men surrounded him he was left with no choice than to follow them.

"What do you want now?" Carl hissed. He did not want to alert others but he wished he could smack the smirk off Chamberlain's face.

"Someone asked me to come workout today who would have known you're also here? Seems I really have to start working out now." Chamberlain chuckled.

"Since you're here to workout, don't let me disturb you." Responded Carl trying to get away but the men wouldn't let him through.

"I'm not done talking, don't you think it's rude walking out on your elder." Chided Chamberlain.

"So what do you want?" Carl snapped.

"I just wanted to say hello, no need to raise your voice.

Have you thought about our conversation yesterday? Do you need more time?" Chamberlain inquired.

From his stance, it was clear he was playing with Carl and he was enjoying himself.

"Any problem sir?" An employee of the gym asked Chamberlain rather than Carl. He was aware of who he was. Although people who frequent the gym were the top brass, Chamberlain was a VIP client. His importance was clear.

"No." Chamberlain responded, waving the man away.

"Carl, why don't you join me for a walk?" He asked, already walking away, leaving Carl no choice but to tag along.

"Carl do you think I'm your enemy?" He suddenly questioned.

Carl was stunned but quickly replied, "I know you are." His reply made Chamberlain chuckle.

The next moment, he turned serious, "I just want to teach you valuable lessons your father failed to teach you, I consider you a friend, the little brother I never had."

Carl found it unbelievable, "An elder brother wouldn't do things that makes his sibling uncomfortable."

"Sure, you're right but haven't you seen an eagle push an eaglet from the top of the mountain in order to make it fly?"

"I'm not a bird." Carl commented causing Chamberlain to laugh out loud.

"May I leave now? You've said your hello, we should say goodbye now." Added Carl.

"No, you may not."
