"These are the correct glasses, right?"

Of course she knew they were but she wanted to make small talk. Anything to keep the conversation going.

"Yes. Thank you." He replied politely.

Isabella's eyes brightened, "I totally forgot the weather is pretty cold tonight, we can't drink this water. Let's boil water for drinking." She suggested but she had already made her way to boil the water.

Carl nodded, "You're right, I totally forgot about that."

Internally Isabella was praising her IQ. Simple ways to impress her crush… She was friends with his family already, she proved herself humble, caring and attentive.

She was indeed a capable woman.

He briskly followed after her, "Why don't you have a seat? I can't have you boiling water on your first stay here."

"It's no problem, I and Kim are close friends so it doesn't matter."

Bella could not help but smile, who knew she could easily speak to him like this?

"No, no, that won't do, not only that but also your brother won't be pleased if he finds out I let you do that." Carl smiled wryly.

Bella giggled, "Not if you tell. In addition, it's just water. Or we could take ordinary water."

"Yeah, you're right… I don't know why I didn't think of that."

"Didn't think of what?" Kim inquired as she walked into the kitchen.

Carl went along to explain, "It's too cold to drink water from the fridge and I totally forgot about that. I was about boiling water too, forgetting about ordinary water. Or perhaps, you prefer the warm water?"

Kim returned to the dinning table while speaking, "I'm fine with anything and I just had a hot bath so it shouldn't matter. But Bella only changed so she might catch a cold."

"I like cold water!" Isabella announced.

"In that case, there's no need for that, let's eat." They both made their way to the table.

After eating three spoonful, Kim spoke up, "It tastes quite different. Did you employ someone new?"

"No, Aunt's not feeling fine, the food was cooked by her daughter."

Kim raised her eyebrow, "Aunt's daughter cooked here?"

For some reason Carl did not like where the conversation was heading. So he quickly tried to appease her, "If you don't like it, I can cook something else."

Kim totally ignored his suggestion, "So aunt's daughter cooked here…" she repeated calmly, this time with an affirmative tone.

The oblivious Isabella commented, "It's quite tasty."

She was focused on her food therefore she did not notice the tension between her crush and his sister.

"Cough, cough." Carl was seemingly choking on nothing.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

Isabella promptly raised her head then passed him her glass of water.

He had already received the glass when he recalled it wasn't his.

He dropped the glass before rubbing his chest, he said, "Thank you."

Kim briefly glanced at him before averting her gaze.

It was unclear whether she was offended or not. And Carl was not sure what to say.

Immediately after dinner Kim headed upstairs while Isabella opted to wash the dishes.

"Hold on!" He called out.

Kim stopped in her tracks but did not bother to turn around.

With his voice low, he explained, "I'm sorry, I didn't think much about it. After she prepared the food, she left. We didn't talk much either."

She turned around, "Why are you explaining?"

He thought, 'Isn't it obvious enough?' Of course he didn't voice that but changed his response, "I don't want you to misunderstand me."

"What can I possibly misunderstand? I was only curious but you refused to answer my question."

Carl sighed, "She was here, she cooked then she left afterwards."

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"Goodnight then."

"Kim…" Before he could say anything more, Isabella came out of the kitchen.

Carl furrowed his brows, 'That fast?'

"It's pretty early, how about we watch a movie?" Suggested Bella as she walked out of the kitchen.

"I'm sleepy." Kim yawned.

"I'm tired too." Carl lied. If Kim wasn't going to be there, there was no need to watch the movie.

Bella nodded in understanding, "That's alright, we can always do that next time."

"Let's go Bella," Kim walked upstairs. Isabella waved at Carl before heading up.

Carl ran his fingers through his hair before going to the kitchen to turn off the light and ensure everything was in other.

Surprisingly, Isabella had washed and dried everything they used for dinner.

When she was excited and in a hurry to talk to her crush, why would she not do that as fast as she could?

He turned off all the lights before heading upstairs.

The next morning, Isabella had dark eyes. She was so excited she couldn't fall asleep.

As for Kim, she slept peacefully, the same could not be said about Carl. He felt Kim was offended but chose to remain quiet because of Isabella's presence.

He went for a jog early in the morning and returned by 6:30 am.

After which he took a shower then went to his basement to check on his company report.

Because he had been extremely busy with work for the past one month, he failed to check the reports sent by his team leaders. Everything concerning Glass was also left for the brothers to handle.

This was his first free day, so he planned on going through all the reports.
