After Chamberlain hung up, he stared at his phone lost in thoughts. He was certain that Carl loved Kim and she was the only one he was willing to marry. Therefore, she's certainly the one he was married to.

However, Kim did not return those feelings, right? And she had even called him brother so how did they end up together so soon?

He decided to call Carl again to inquire but Lena interrupted his thoughts so he set aside his phone and joined her.

...

Not long after, Carl went out to prepare some things for their date. He wanted to woo her as he never tried to do so previously. He wanted to do things the right way.

He took out his phone to do a little research on how to woo a girl. What to do and where to go on the first date. Subsequently he went out to get flowers for her and a pack of chocolates. Then made his way back home.

He wanted things to seem a little bit old school. Pick up your date with flowers, open the door for her, have a nice dinner, maybe take a walk and drive her home. Perhaps swoop in for a kiss on the cheek.

He tried his best to avoid seeing her before then and settled for texting. He did not know why she was becoming hard to ignore, especially now that they were married. He wanted to stick close to her.

He took a shower and also asked her to dress up. At exactly 5 pm, he knocked on her door.

When Kim opened, he froze. She was dressing a little bit different from normal. He had seen her in makeup and dresses but she was looking sophisticated today.

She was wearing nude strappy heeled sandals. She wore a white off-shoulder blouse with folded sleeves, tucked into a pink ankle-length, high-waist irregular hem split bandage skirt.

Her blouse highlighted her long graceful neck that was even more noticeable because of her short hair. It was adorned with a simple silver double layered heart pendant necklace that served as a choker too.

She rarely wore makeup and when she did, it was always nude. She liked everything simple. She did not even like wearing heels because it was uncomfortable and she wouldn't be able to move freely. Above all, she liked to dress casually but she had dressed up for him.

As he drank in her sight, he had forgotten about the bouquet of roses. He even forgot to compliment her. He just stood blanking with widened eyes.

He would occasionally gulp, but that was it. All he could think of was how amazing she looked and how he wanted to kiss her.

Noticing his reaction, Kim felt… she couldn't describe it. Was it happiness? Tinged with a little bit of nervousness because of his deep gaze. Unintentionally she blushed before clearing her throat.

The noise brought him back from his reverie. "You look… amazing. I mean you always look good but…"

Kim chuckled, "I understand… you look good too."

"Will you be comfortable in those shoes?" His voice was warm and his eyes showed worry.

Kim was touched by his concern and how attentive he was. "It's fine. It's just for a few hours."

"Right, I got you these." He said, handing her the flowers.

"Thank you, I'll quickly place it inside," Kim went back into her room, then she took out the fake flowers from the vase and placed the roses inside.

Actually, she had no idea what to do with the flowers. She didn't think she was a flower person and she didn't want to take it with her either. But since it was a romantic gesture by her husband, she promptly took care of it.

When she returned, he held out his hands for him and then she clung to him. They walked out of the house together and drove off to a restaurant by the river.

It was a little restaurant but it had this romantic air. There were less than twenty tables in the restaurant and they were all table for two.

A soft music was playing in the background and there were fresh flowers littered about.

Kim and Carl sat overwatching the river, the sky was a magnificent orange as the sun was setting.

After ordering two sets of meal, there was silence. They both had no idea what to talk about.

Carl felt the responsibility was on him so he went first, "What are your dreams and aspirations?"

Her brows furrowed, "I've told you about that."

Carl nodded, "You told me you wanted to be a politician, in order to find your parents. Do you think it's a good reason to be one? Besides, it appears you don't really want to be one, it's just your way of searching for your parents. So what exactly is your dream?"

Kim was speechless. She hadn't really thought of it that way. Dreams? Her only dream was to find her family.

Given it wasn't the right reason to be a politician, she wouldn't even vote for herself. However, not everyone was aware of the reason. It's not like she has the resources to search for them. She only thought of the easiest way out.

"I'm right, aren't I?" Carl spoke while observing her reaction.

He wanted her to be happy. To live doing what she really wanted. However, she was studying a course she didn't care for and hoping to become something she also didn't care for.
