Chamberlain quickly set up his phone before dialing Carl's number. On the first ring, Carl picked up.

"Hey…" Right what did he want to say to Stallone again?

"Chamberlain," Carl called out for the first time after not hearing him speak for a few seconds.

Chamberlain had no time to appreciate this, "I'm sorry I messed things up at my father's end. Before I could get answers, he was suspicious of me. And it seems your problems only increased because of me."

"Thankfully, you know it's your fault… Is there any other thing?"

Carl was currently doing his research on those lawyers so he did not have the time to chat. He wanted to know their statistics and what not.

"Stallone," Chamberlain called out to him.

Carl paused his movements.

"You should increase the security around your wife. As for you…"

Chamberlain tried recalling his father's MO in order to caution Carl.

He wondered if his father would have a change of mind. It would be easier to kidnap Kim and threaten Carl to plead guilty.

Undoubtedly, Charles Stan was so used to doing this that he feared his rivals would do the same to him too. That was why he always made sure to send his wife and daughter away first.

He was ambitious and would definitely not let this little obstacle bring them down. It wasn't the first time someone sent evidence of his crimes to the police nor was it the first time someone else went to jail for their crimes.

Charles Stan would usually use a scandal to divert the attention of the public. So far, it has worked perfectly that the public truly respected him. His reputation was truly impeccable.

He was a family man without scandals. He was down to earth. The public's opinion of Charles Stan could hardly be tainted.

He had avid supporters who felt he could do no wrong.

Chamberlain feared that his father would go a step more because of him. He did not know what to anticipate.

Carl had already made plans to ensure her safety that was why he told her she should remain in school if ever he was arrested.

She should remain in groups and call Allan if she ever wanted to leave the school. He had anticipated that much.

Sincerely speaking, the way Chamberlain sounded scared him a little. He could only do his best and pray he overestimated Charles Stan.

"I'll help you gather evidence. Don't go to the office just in case," Chamberlain advised.

The most tiring aspect of this was that they were preparing for something they had no idea when it would happen.

"I trust you."

Those words were enough to calm the storm in Chamberlain's heart.

He ended the call and he left for the company almost immediately.

Lena watched him drive away from the balcony before going back inside.

Although Chamberlain had told Carl he would gather evidence to prove himself, Carl still broke into the company's server to look for anything that could be of use to him.

Lucky for him, apart from the two brothers no one knew about his skills. He smoothly got in but to his surprise he found documents he approved to move funds…

When did he do that?

The worst part was how frightening similar the signatures were. He couldn't tell the fake from the original but he knew he didn't tamper with any official document. When did he sign that? No, he did not, he never did, so why?

He couldn't understand when he approved so many transactions.

"You must be kidding me!" He exclaimed.

He realized they had created false evidence to incriminate him.

The question was, since when?

The company did not even need his approval to move funds as he did not have the powers of a Chief Financial Officer.

The only thing near illegal he did was buying and selling the company's stock to give the impression of market activity and price rise.

Which by the way was done under the instruction of Chamberlain, his team would buy and sell the security to each other.

Indeed, this worked because no sooner, people began purchasing the company's shares.

Carl rubbed his eyes, perhaps he couldn't see properly. He decided he would ask both Kim and Allan to compare the signatures.

The first thing Carl instructed Allan to do when he arrived was to compare the two signatures to tell which was which.

When Allan told him they were the same, he knew he was in deep shit.

He took a deep breath to calm himself before hacking the CCTV. He was too late as there was no record, in fact, it wasn't functioning, it was fake. It wasn't meant to even record. It only gave the impression that things were being recorded.

Then was the company left unprotected? Carl rubbed his eyes.

He couldn't just go to court and say he was innocent. He needed evidence to prove his innocence. Yet his actions proved futile.

Carl realized he could only rely on eyewitness, his colleagues. However, would any of them be willing to give testimony in court for him. He had no idea but he knew he had to meet his team.

If his team and Chamberlain testified, it would be a lot easier.

At exactly 4 PM, Carl and Allan went to pick up Kim. He introduced them officially, then he informed Allan to guard his wife and personally drive her to wherever she wanted in case something happens to him.

Kim felt suffocated talking about this but she knew she had to listen so he wouldn't worry about her.

Once they got home, Carl made dinner for them. He told them about his research and that Mr. Anderson was right. Their chances of winning was higher with Gerald Morales because he had never lost a case.

Since they couldn't contact him they had to make due with whatever they had. Therefore Carl showed them what he found out, from the statistics to their contact just in case.

Allan left after dinner, leaving the couple alone. Kim showered and joined him in bed.
