Kim was done with registration by the time school officially resumed. She choose to apply for the dormitories. This will avail too options rather than one. She could stay home with Carl and also experience live at the dormitories whenever she wanted.

It was Saturday morning, just past 10. She had a backpack and a pamphlet and a smartphone on her right hand. She was dressed simply, in a tee-shirt tucked into a mid-tigh denim skirt, with bright purple sneakers, her hair was held high in a ponytail. She was looking the part, very innocent and child-like with her bare face and doe eyes. She was standing at the entrance of the university, staring at the big gate. She couldn't help but think of the popular saying, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step." And this is the first step to becoming a person her parents would be proud of. This is the first step to finding her parents.

She had numerous activities to do today. Firstly, the university's orientation with the freshers and also her facultys'. She also had to get a few necessities like her timetable and also register her courses and maybe socialize. She would then take a proper tour of the school. Before returning home to Carl.

Finally walking in, she spotted different groups of people chattering excitedly and walking in the same direction as her. She wasn't sure who to talk to first. How was she supposed to interact with them? Should she stay by herself? Or should she just interrupt one of the groups and introduce herself. Should she just ask if she could be friends with them? But do people become friends like that?

She wasn't sure. Ever since she was little, she was always by herself, even at the orphanage, when other kids formed cliques, she was all by herself. She didn't know anything about socializing even though she wanted so bad to talk to people. This got her thinking of Carl, she managed to open up to him.

Lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice a pretty girl walking towards her. "Hi!" She said in a high-pitched voice. Kim was startled. She was surprised someone wanted to talk to her. She observed the girl in front of her, she was dressed like she was going to a club. She was wearing sequin shorts and a crop top with high heels. This is definitely not what you wear for orientation. You'd be walking round the school. 'Is she just clueless or stupid?' Kim wondered.

"Hi." She finally replied.

"I saw you walking around alone without any friends, I don't have any too. I'm actually new here. I'm from the capital." She said in the same high-pitched voice like she wanted the whole world to know she was speaking to someone.

"I'm a local." Kim said in a low voice.

"Oh..then may be some time you could take me around the city. And by the way, I'm Isabella Stan." She said, matter-of-factly. Like Kim was supposed to know her family name and be all over her.

"Kim Sanders." She replied curtly, ignoring her antics. She didn't really care about her social standing and background. And from her observation she could tell exactly how Isabella is. She made up her mind to stay away from her. Who needs the extra baggage?

Isabella scrutinized Kim, she was rather surprised Kim didn't faen over her. That was normally the treatment she got whenever she introduced herself. Seeing Kim's unfazed reaction, she was more interested. She wanted to know what family she was from.

"I got admitted into the law faculty, you?" Isabella asked, not that she actually cared, she wanted to know if she could look for someone else to be her "friend" or keep Kim. Someone from the same faculty was much better anyway.

Kim frowned on hearing her. She was hoping to avoid her, now it doesn't seem possible. As she'll be seeing her often in class, she couldn't possibly lie to her face so she nodded without a word.

On the other hand Isabella beamed. She was right to walk up to her. "We should get going." Without waiting for her, Kim moved towards the huge auditorium. There were many students flowing into the huge hall. Isabella wasn't pleased but she called out to Kim to wait for her.

Four hours later, they were done with the orientation, registration of courses and getting the timetable. Kim began the tour of her faculty. Things were going smoothly. Surprisingly, Isabella managed to walk around for four hours in those pointy high heels.

After moving around the faculty and familiarizing herself with her immediate environment, she headed out, she located her hostel, she got into her room. The room was spacious, with two beds next to each other. A big wardrobe for two person. There were two study areas and a bathroom as well. She totally forgot about decoration. She decided she would do it when her other roommate arrived.

From there she headed to the library and from the library to the fields. She forgot about her "friend" chasing after her. Isabella was irritated by Kim's behavior. Kim totally ignored her going about her activities while she was in heels. Her legs had started hurting from all the walking and Kim wasn't sympathetic at all.

"Kim!" She screamed. Kim immediately haulted, then turned, facing her. She raised her brows in a questioning manner.

"Can't you see I'm in pain? You keep walking around. Let's take a break."

Kim didn't not want to tolerate her, she felt if she did once, she would keep doing it.

"I didn't ask you to follow me and I wasn't the one stupid enough to wear heels. You should go home." She said bluntly.

Isabella was surprised, she didn't think Kim would point it out. So she sat on field. She took out her phone, made a call, after which she took of her heels.

"Seeing you've called for help, I should get going." Kim turned around, leaving a dazed Isabella.
