Seeing all the stuff Kim was packing up made him realize the need for a car. He made a mental note to get a car and a house close to the dormitories. It was Sunday afternoon, Kim was currently packing her things for her move to the dormitories. Lectures would officially begin tomorrow, she wouldn't have the time to move again if not today.

Carl helped her to call for a taxi that would send her school. He opted to go with her to see the environment she would be staying in for the next five years. He helped her load her boxes in to the taxi and together they left for the school. The drive to school was also done in silence. As much as he didn't want her to go, he didn't want to limit her. Thinking of all the possibilities excited and saddened him at the same time. He wouldn't be there together with her as she begins her journey. As much as he wanted to part of her life in every way possible, he couldn't abandon Glass and go to school with her. As they were both lost in thought, they failed to realized they had intertwined their fingers at one point. Kim stared out of the window, she ascertained if she looked at him, they would return home.

Getting to the dorms, he helped her move her things in and arrange them. After which, there was nothing but silence... He looked at the door, wondering the next time he would see her, she watched his every movement. She wished he would drag her home. But that wasn't going to happen. He broke the silence first, "Be good, if you need anything, call me, if anyone bullies you, tell me..." He didn't finish his list of advice when she hugged him. He stood still for a while before he wrapped his hands around her. They were in embrace, they lost track of time when the door opened, a beautiful girl walked in alone.

"I'm sorry for interrupting..." She apologized as she felt awkward to witness the "couple". Kim immediately moved away from Carl, "You don't have to apologize, you didn't interrupt."

The air was rather awkward, the young girl pushed in her luggage, then she introduced her self, "I'm Nicole Sylva, your roommate." Carl was not exactly welcoming because she interrupted their "moment". He took a glance at her before reverting his attention to Kim. "Kim Sanders." She said in reply. Carl was still silent as he continued to stare at Kim. She nudged him, "Carl." He said without breaking his attention from Kim, totally ignoring Nicole.

Nicole felt embarrassed, so she excused herself, leaving the couple staring at each other. "Remember to eat, don't always eat pasta or bread, go out for food too." Kim said, breaking the silence, Carl simply nodded in reply. "If you need a break, come home, I'll be waiting." He said, inching towards her, he pulled her back into his embrace.. slowly, his hands tightened around her, like he wanted their bodies to merge. Kim didn't complain as she hugged him back in response.

Reluctantly, he pulled back.. "Remember to eat too, don't forget like yesterday. Even if you're studying, remember eating is more important."

"Let me walk you out." She said in response. Patting her hair, he replied, "You don't have to, get to know your roommate." Without further hesitation, he opened the door, leaving the room. Kim stared at the door, she contemplated running after him.

Not long, the door opened, Nicole stepped him. Her gloomy expression vanished as she apologized to Nicole regarding how Carl treated her. Nicole nodded in understanding. "Boyfriends, I understand." Kim blushed, not denying or accepting Nicole's statement, she simply said, "He's my only family."

"So what are you studying?" Nicole asked Kim, opening her box. "Law." Kim replied, lying on her bed. "What about you?" - "Architecture." Nicole said, eyes sparkling as she continued to unload her box. "You must really like architecture." Kim said observing her. "I love houses, interior designing, anything art. I want to design houses for people. Start up my own real estate company." Nicole explained as she continued placing her belongings in suitable places. "What about you? What's your dream?" She inquired.

"I want to be a politician, I'm only studying law to gain more knowledge, I'm not the judge type, I can't sit over a case and place judgment on people and to defend people..? I can't say I'm into that too." Kim said, chuckling.

She didn't like the duties of judges, they are to determine who is wrong and who is right, how do you do that when humans are so wicked and pretentious, what if you jail the innocent party? It's not like people can't fabricate evidence and alibi. It's difficult to be a judge. She might give in if the defendant looks at her with pitiful eyes.

She didn't look down on the profession, she felt it was much more easier making laws than actually judging people. Besides she choose politics, first to find her parents, then to help the people in the red districts and lower provinces. As someone who lives in the lower province, she understood the difficulties they face daily. She would work her way into the legislature and make laws suitable for the lower provinces. She might start small, but she would surely get there.

While Nicole unpacked, they talked about their dreams and aspirations, likes and dislikes. Kim felt comfortable with her roommate. She was someone she could definitely stay with. Slowly her thought drifted to Isabella.
