Inside a broad study, Chamberlain took a wide stance by the window, his fingers were interlaced as helooked fixedly at the garden. The study room was filled with shelves of books on business, politics and war. There was a big desk just by the window with a laptop on it and different documents arranged on the desk. The room was made of dark furnitures, it looked elegant, classy, yet dull. The only colour was the bright light from the chandelier.

Behind Chamberlain stood his personal assistant and Jameson, the man he asked to monitor his sister and also report his findings on Kim. The two men were very different from each other, Jameson was reserved and as stoic as his boss, he only took instructions from his boss and never tried to pry whereas the P.A though efficient, was opinionated, he was like Chamberlain's elder brother or father.

The room was awfully quiet, Chamberlain was in deep thought and and the two other men did not want to interrupt him. Jameson was holding a brown envelope, in it, contained every information he could find on Kim. From when she was picked up at the orphanage to living with a man that worked in the company.

Chamberlain turned around and sat on his seat. He signaled Jameson to start his report. Jameson quicky gave him the brown envelope and began speaking.

"Kim, 19, dropped at the door of the Angel Eyes Orphanage by an unknown man on July 4th 1999."

One thing about Jameson that Chamberlain liked was the fact that he was a man of few words, he only said the necessary things. He was a focused young man and a great help to him. As Jameson spoke, Chamberlain's eyes ran through the report.

"No notable occurrence?" Chamberlain asked, flipping the document.

"She's currently co-habiting with an employee of the company, his name is Carl Mike. They've been living together for 7 months now." Jameson said, answering his question.

"Interesting.. and how did they come to live together?" Chamberlain questioned. His face was stoic but then his eyes flashed in remembrace. "The lady from the Blackwood family demanded for a person named Carl to be sacked, right?"

Jameson answered his first question, "It's still unclear, but before then, Carl was not living in this city."

After which, his assistant, Ben, answered his second question, "Yes sir."

Chamberlain studied the photo of both Carl and Kim, his eyes unreadable. There was utter silence in the room for a while, but to Ben, it felt like hours. "Find out if it's the same person. And also the relationship between the two." Finally, he broke the silence.

"What do you think.. a young girl, co-habiting with an unknown man, and my sister is friends with that kind of person?" Chamberlain asked both men as he ran his hand through his hair.

Ben was the first to reply him, "Sir, I think Kim is a good friend to miss, from the report, Kim has never tried to influence miss wrongly." Chamberlain nodded his head in agreement then he looked at Jameson. He took the cue and answered the question. "It doesn't matter, as politicians, the public eye is always on you, I believe miss shouldn't be friends with her."

"I don't think people know about it, besides she's currently staying at the dormitories, and by the way, unless she does something wrong to attract the public, it should be fine." Ben added.

Chamberlain kept nodding his head, they were both right, but the public is never merciful. "Keep watching them." Jameson turned to leave while Chamberlain continued staring at the photo of Kim, his eyes, though, unfathomable, his fingers traced Kim's face.

Ben observed his boss but he couldn't tell what his boss was thinking. A few minutes passed, Chamberlain was still studying Kim's picture and Ben was still rooted to his spot. He had things to report to his boss but he knew better than to interrupt his boss' thoughts.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, Chamberlain raised his head, "You're still here?" He questioned Ben as he reclined on the seat.

"Yes sir! I have a report on the city." Ben simply stated as he gave an envelope to Chamberlain. He didn't bother to open it as he gestured for Ben to speak.

"Sir, the mayor of the city has done a great job, the city is relatively peaceful. Though there are still offences, it isn't anything major and it's mainly in the lower district. Apart from the few rich families, majority of the power belong to the gangs. There are a few notable ones and some smaller ones. Recently, there was an investigation by the police so a few gangs were taken down, their territories were taken over by the bigger ones. But there's one, Dragon Claw, they suddenly disappeared but their territory still belong to them."

By this time, Chamberlain was no longer reclining on the seat, he was sitted with his arms resting on the desk, propping his chin. He quietly put down his hands and opened the document. He scanned through it, Ben had said almost everything. He dropped the files then rubbed his eyes. "Get a few men from the capital, take over the biggest gang there is."

After which, he got up, leaving the studying. He hadn't slept much for a few days now as he was busy with the company and a few other things. The only thing on his mind was sleep. He had to ensure he was in his best condition before the war begins.
