After sending in his resignation, Carl went straight to the gym. It was a luxirious gym, from the walls to the employees, it screamed money. He wanted to know if they are really as good as the reviews say. The customer service was great but would the training bring result? At least most of the men were former soldiers so they would probably train people differently. Thinking about the aspect, he was sure he would probably suffer for the few months he would train.

He took the elevator up after make enquires at the reception, he was told to go to the fifth floor, there he would meet his personal trainer. Seeing how organized they were, he thought of poaching some of the trainers to help Glass Security. However, he was unsure if they'd want to leave this luxurious place and work for his small company that just started taking in jobs. May be he wouldn't be able to give them a better offer just yet. But he was willing to give it a shot, not now though, after observing them for a while.

Finding his way up, he finally met the man who would be his trainer, he stood by the door watching the man through the glass door, he was ripped and huge. He gave off the feeling that he could easily crush you if you cross him. He knocked, opened the door, stepped into the office and made his way to the seat. "Good day." He said in greeting, handing over the document he collected from the lobby. The trainer sized him up before nodding in acknowledgement. He collected the document and glanced through it before setting it aside.

"Most people your age come here for body building, you're here to learn how to defend yourself. Though it's good, you've got me curious." Hughes posited. He wasn't interested in clients who came for body building, so when he saw Carl, he was surprised. Young men usually train their bodies to look good and attract the ladies. While Hughes spoke, his face remained expressionless, may be it was because he was in the military or may be that's who he is. His body-build and his face did not allow people to get too close to him. Though his face was average, his eyes made people understand he had seen a lot in life. His aura that could not be hidden also said a lot about him.

"More than that, I want to be able to protect myself and those close to me." Carl said in reply. Faced with the expressionless man, he felt at ease. May be because he was normally like that too. Hughes simply nodded in acknowledgement before adding, "Then let's go over your plan. What do you hope to achieve?"

"If possible, I want military training." He said solemnly. Hughes faces cracked as he smiled. "You should join the military then." May be he was recalling the glorious days in the military, his eyes were shining as Carl made mention of it. He seemed lost in thought, as she grinned, staring into space.

"I'm not willing to serve the nation. I simply want to protect." Carl answered bringing Hughes back to earth. "Why not hire guards?" He said, pushing aside Carl's comment. "And if I'm alone?" He asked. Hughes observed the man for a while, he glanced at the document again before nodding. "You want to learn to shoot too.. tell me, boy, do you want to kill somebody?" Hughes questioned, staring into his eyes, waiting to detect lies. "No." Carl simply said. "That's good enough for me. When do you hope to start?"

"As soon as possible." Carl stated. "Since it's military training you want, that's what you'll get, hope you're prepared." Carl sighed. He knew military training was gruesome, but what could he do? He had no choice if he wants to protect himself and his loved ones. Besides, walking around with bodyguards is inconvenient. "Yes, I am." He finally replied.

Afterwhich, he spent an hour with Hughes talking about the training plan, from the basics to the hardest. Seeing the basics, he wasn't even sure he could keep up, but he stilled his heart. It was necessary, it was something he needed to do so he couldn't refuse or run away. He pushed his thoughts aside, concentrating on Hughes.

...

In the firm, Chamberlain finally got news of Carl's resignation. He was surprised to say the least. He was hoping to get Carl on his side but now he was gone without even waiting for approval. He simply told HR not to approve of his resignation yet. He still had time to convince him. And if he couldn't, he would use force, the end result would be poaching him. The election was this year after all, so had to get as much resources as possible.

"Have you made a move on his father?" Chamberlain asked Ben, his secretary. "No sir!" He replied. "Gather the evidence you have against him, I'll make the move myself." He said. Ben was surprised but he couldn't tell Chamberlain that he didn't bother with gathering evidences against Brandon Blackwood because he didn't like the Blackwood family. "Okay sir." He said, rushing out of the office to get it done. Chamberlain continued to sit in his office, thinking of ways to get Carl on his side. Thinking of what method to use and how to approach Carl.
