"You're right, I like how things are." He did not need to worry about the responsibility that comes with being a Blackwood. He did not need to live in the Blackwood home under the pressure and hate of his parents. Life outside the capital was quite pleasant. Thinking back, being an aristocrat isn't all that good, there's nothing enviable about it. He loved his simple life in the city among the commoners, it was worthwhile.

"You mom would be disappointed in you." Chamberlain whispered, only Carl heard him, he stiffened immediately. This has always made him feel guilty. It was the only spot he considered black in his life. Back then if only he had told his mother, maybe she wouldn't have died alone. He couldn't even hate his father, all this put together made him feel like a bad son.

He did nothing to warn his mother of his father's treacherous ways in fear that she would be heartbroken. He did nothing to stop her from being kicked out, he did nothing when the Stallone properties were taken, he did nothing when his father married Judith. He did nothing to make her stop ill-treating him, even when he was accused of r-ape, he did nothing. He felt guilty for not trying to avenge his mother.

Would he feel at peace taking back everything that belonged to his mother? If he ruined the Blackwoods, would it diminish the guilt he was feeling?

He had no energy to squabble with Judith for inheritance and there was no way he could force himself to hate someone. Considering the way, the had treated him, it was enough to make him hate them, but he didn't. He was indifferent. This was why he always felt nothing could affect him. He felt his emotions had died with his mother not until Kim showed up.

"You should really learn to conceal your weakness, Stallone." Chamberlain was obviously enjoying his reaction. "First your mother, now Kim..." Tsk tsk tsk, he clicked his tongue. To him it was easy to control a man like Carl, he could bend him to his will with just Kim. Quite pitiful.

Carl lowered his head, could he really tell the world that he did not want to avenge his mother, even if it was just forcing Judith out. Besides, she was the mistress that stole everything that belonged to his mother. Could he reveal this truth to the public? Would it elevate his mother's pain, make her feel better wherever she is?

As Carl thought of these, his eyes began to itch, his chest felt stuffy. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. Stallone was right, he couldn't hide his emotions. He thought he could that was because no one knew the trigger, it was obviously his mother and Kim. With a little bit of observation, Chamberlain was able to make him experience different emotions he thought dead.

"While you're frolicking with Kim, your mother's assets are moving to her hands. Some of her favourite things have been spoiled for fun by her and her silly group of friends. Do you really not care about your mother?

How about your father? Should you really let him do as he pleases? We both know you can seize everything if you want to, so why don't you want to avenge your mother?

Remember how she cried the day she was kicked out of the house, how she begged your father but he threw her out still. It might not be public knowledge, but I know how she suffered, she had no one, how do you think she managed the few months before her death? Did she really die of cancer? Is she really resetting in peace?"

As Carl listened to his words, his face turned white as sheets, he physically trembled. Of course, these questions had continually bugged him even though most times he acted like nothing was wrong, he couldn't be bothered.

"I see you still need time to consider this revenge. I'll be back." Chamberlain said moving away leaving Carl with a huge burden of guilt.

Chamberlain suddenly stopped in his tracks, "Stallone, if you're not powerful enough to protect her, you shouldn't be with her." He continued on his track, before adding, "Remember my advice, learn to hide your emotions."

His words made Carl tremble, he suddenly remembered that there was an enemy hidden in the shadows, could he really protect her? If he was suddenly attacked, could he protect her? Could he even protect himself?

He blankly stood in the middle of the aisle. His eyes had turned dead. His meeting with Chamberlain had sucked out the life from him. Even when the mall had returned to its original state, he did not notice.

People moved to and fro but he couldn't hear or see them. Where they doing anything? Was anyone speaking to him? He couldn't perceive anything neither could he respond to any.

Kim, who was tired of standing, waiting for the men to make a move, any move, sat on the floor. Suddenly, she saw one of the men place a hand on the Bluetooth device on his ears then he signaled for the rest to move out. Kim hurriedly got up in search of Carl.

She moved from aisle to aisle but couldn't find him, she understood they came from him. 'Is it his father? May be his step-mother?' She questioned internally.
