"Hey what did I do?" Ronnie tried to hold back his laughter pretending like he didn't know anything at all.
Da Nuru, "...."
"Brother you please take this lunch and go. You both are too much to handle." Da Nuru declared.
Ronnie couldn't help but laugh more.
He took the lunch and went back to their house and called Jayne. "Jayne, I've got lunch. Go freshen up and come. We'll have lunch."
Jayne who was lying on the bamboo cot turned away from Ronnie and said, "No I don't want to have lunch. You please eat. I'll sleep for a while."
Ronnie realised that she's pissed off. "Oh so ma'am is angry on me. But why do you want to starve yourself for that darling?"
Jayne found it logical. She concluded," Exactly right. Why should I starve. I'll make you starve. Pass the plates to me and your not going to eat."
"Jayne, my love, I'm sorry I won't do this again. Please forgive me. Let's have lunch together. I'm starving." He looked at her with the same puppy eyes which was her weak spot.
Jayne didn't respond but got up from the cot and motioned him to come sit across her. She then took the plate from his hand and placed it in between them.
She took a bowl and took a spoon of soup. Since it was a little hot, she blew over the spoon and brought it in near Ronnie's mouth and ordered, "Drink." Though her voice sounded authoritative, her actions carried a lot of warmth.
The corner of Ronnie's mouth curved into a smile. He opened his mouth and said, "Sorry wifey."
Jayne too grinned back and they continued eating harmoniously.
In the evening, Ronnie and Jayne went to the medical practitioner's hut and thanked him. By now Jayne had almost stopped taking her medicines. She could now hold in till they went back to the city for further treatment.They spoke to everyone else of the hamlet and greeted every single person. By the time they returned it was already night.
Ronnie took his backpack and packed all his stuffs. He carefully checked for his wallet and other important documents like passport. He kept them handy since he'll need them from tomorrow after they enter the city.
While on the other hand, Jayne obviously didn't have anything to pack. The dress she had worn on the day of her fall was intact. So she decided to wear that while going tomorrow along with Ronnie's jacket.
They went to the altar area which was the place where they'd symbolically confessed their love for each other. The light from the lamp danced and leapt in the air like bidding a celebratory farewell to the lovebirds. Their eyes flickered with the flame. None spoke a word and they stood there silently holding each others hands. They remained like this for a long time basking in the warmth of the flames.
Later they walked from the altar area and came back to the room.
They slept in early for the last night of their stay here since they had to wake up early to leave the next day.
