The subject I’m good at is humanities.

The subject I’m not good at is science.

Then what about moving my body?

I love it!

When I was in high school, there was a camping boom so I got into the outdoors activity club, and that was a blast. We went to the campsite with our bicycles, camped there, and chat around. Other than that, I also love moving my body. My grades in PE is the second I’m proudest of after humanities studies.

Basically, my science studies are always barely passing.

And then, finally the time for PE class has arrived in this academy.

The usual sailor jacket uniform was nice, but the PE uniform is awesome as well.

“Alright, what will we do for PE?”

“Y-You’re full of spirits, aren’t you, Astrid-sama. I am worried.”

Why do you need to be worried, Miine-kun? We’ll run, jump and leap, and we’ll refresh ourselves by moving our bodies. When you exercise,, your head clears up and you can think coherently, so that’s why I love exercising.

Furthermore, to prepare for the confrontation against my fate, I’ve done training with Earhart-san from my house’s knight orders. But I was only for a short period from when I was four until when I was six. I more or less had understood about going against people that use swords, but I feel like I lack experience to properly understand.

So to compensate for it, I have to exercise! I’ll be the sprinting, shooting villainess!”

“Master, does master like exercising?”

“That’s right. I love it. I feel refreshed if I move my body after all.”

I replied thus toward Blau who was floating around me.

“Alright, so what are we going to do for PE today? Sprinting? Long-distance race? Or is it a ball game?”

I was excited as I followed the PE teacher.

“Ladies and gentlemen. You all must have basic understanding of Elemental Magic. At the very least, in the first year of Elementary School you will have a deeper understanding about the basics of Earth and Wind elementals”, the PE teacher said.

Huh? This is a PE class, right? Why are we talking about magic?

“In the future, it is important for you to figure out what field are you going to apply your magic knowledge in. Of course, it goes without saying to those who aims to become a combat magician or a knight. You would need Elemental Magic and Blood Magic.”

Hm hm. Now I understand the content of today’s lesson.

“Well then, about today’s class, we will have a mock battle using Elemental Magic. Although I said mock battle, it’s more like a game. It’s a game where you’ll compete by throwing earth balls at your enemy’s position. You may use any type of Elemental Magic you have been taught.”

I see. A mud ball version of a snowball fight, huh.

Seems like fun. I’m getting excited.

“We will do this class with a mix of boys and girls. Please split into two groups now.”

The moment sensei said that, I ran away from Friedrich in a dash.

As a result, Friedrich could not find me. I did it.

“Alright, it seems like you’ve split into two teams.”

There are a lot of girls in my camp, and there are a lot of boys in Friedrich’s camp.

But the physical strength of elementary school boys and girls isn’t that different. Same could be said about magical prowess, so I don’t think we’ll be at a disadvantage.

“Alright, I shall explain the rules. The team that fills the other team’s position with mud balls made using Earth Elemental the most wins. You can throw them, or if you’re confident, you can bring them over with your Wind Elementals.”

Normally Wind Elemental aren’t quite useful, isn’t it? I probably couldn’t just invoke a hurricane to pepper the enemy’s encampment with mud balls, huh.

“You’ll be taken out if the mud ball hits you, and you’ll be asked to leave the arena. Also, you are not allowed to use anything other than mud, be it rocks or stones. You’ll also be dropped out if you aimed for the face. Remember to do this competition in a good manner.

Tch. So it’s impossible to make Friedrich drop dead in the middle of the confusion, huh.

“That’s it for the rules. Begin!”

And then with the sound of the whistle, the fight begins.

“Let’s go!”

Adolf in Friedrich’s camp is full of spirits, huh. Seems like we felt similarly.

“W-What should we do, Astrid-sama?”

“As long as we don’t break the rules, then anything goes, so I have a lot in my sleeve.”

While Miine-kun was flustered, I was smiling.

Those fools on the other side are still frantically making mud balls. Perhaps because there are a lot of girls here and they’re afraid of getting dirty, we’re not making a good progress with our mud balls.

“Everyone! We can take a shower later, so let’s go!”

“Y-Yes! Astrid-sama!”

Alright. I have a plan.

We have to yeet some mud balls to their base. We can’t use stones, and we’ll eliminate them if we hit their bodies.

Which means…!

“Earth Spirit-san! Help me out!”

I imagined, and it forms into reality.

“VVas!?”

A giant wall was erected in front of our base. The incoming mud balls hits the wall and crumbles away with a splat. Now that a towering wall stands before the enemy, they’ll have to either throw their mud balls over the wall or flank us from the side.

This is not against the rules so it’s alright, you know?

“Miine, take five girls and defend the right flank. Lotte, you take five other girls and defend the left flank. The rest of you should focus in making the mud balls. Okay?”

“Yes! I understand, Astrid-sama!”

Alright, our base’s defense is in order. So I should get moving now.

The earth wall that I made prevented the enemies to attack us, and in return, the wall also prevents us from attacking them. In that case, there’s only one way to go: a mobile strike.

“I’ll take this!”

I took six mud balls from the girls who are on defense duty and flies to the field from the right flank of the wall.

“!? They’re attacking!”

Oh my, did you think just because we’re girls, we won’t come to attack you?

“Blau, try circulating the wind around me. Do it just enough to deflect the incoming mud balls.”

“Roger to that, Master!”

I think I can still be alright even if I don’t deflect them.

Meanwhile, I concentrated on my Blood Magic, fire up my nervous system, enhanced my muscles and run about in a zig-zag maneuver. The field was wide, reaching about 50-meters, so I could move quite easily.

“Damn it! I can’t aim!”

I learned about this when I was playing airsoft games.

“There! There! There!”

I crossed the field in one go, and as I ran sideways facing the boys, I threw my mud balls. They call it their base, but they don’t even have sandbags piled up to defend themselves, so it’s easy to aim at their bodies. Feeling great, I kept bombarding them with mud balls.

“She got Rudolf!”

“Your Highness, please stand back! Please leave it to this Dieter! Auh!”

“Aah! She got Dieter!”

Fufufu. The boys’ camp is in turmoil.

“YEET!”

I tossed the rest of the mud balls toward the boys’ feet, and as I secured three points, I started retreating back to my own base.

“Like I’ll let you!”

and Adolf started to break into pursuit.

I lowered my postures as much as possible and ran past him. I managed to successful got behind Adolf. Alright, I should keep this up.

“The enemy  is coming! Right flank! Prepare to fire!”

I rushed toward my base and said that to the girls.

“Tei!”

“Yaah!”

And then, Miine-kun and girls in charge of the defense of the right flank circled around the wall, faced Adolf and started peppering at Adolf in unison. I dashed with full force using Blood Magic, so he was quite late behind me.

“Uwah!”

Finally, the miserable Adolf is now drenched with mud.

“A-Adolf-sama, please forgive me! I will wipe you clean right now!”

“Don’t mind it. This is a competition after all.”

Aah, that’s right. Miine-kun was interested in Adolf, wasn’t she? I made her do something bad then didn’t I.

But to think that she immediately went over and wiped him off with her handkerchief. Your girl power is strong, Miine-kun. Could it be that this will increase Adolf’s favorability points toward Miine-kun? Oh, but since he’s so prideful, I don’t really know.

“Next, next! Did you make some more balls? I’ll strike them again!”

“Yes, Astrid-sama!”

If this keeps up, our victory is certain.

But it was truly a mistake for Adolf to have pursued me at that time. You were supposed to be the commander. Why is the cowardly Friedrich left in charge of what’s left of the boys? This is too easy!

“Alright, I’ll be going in!”

I took 6 more mud balls and dashed towards the enemy base again.

“Take it easy. Aim for the time she throws her mud balls. Her movement dulls when she throws her mud balls.”

“Understood, your Majesty!”

Hoo. That Friedrich is actually paying attention, huh. It’s true though, I mean I’m only human, so it’ll be difficult for me to dash in full power while aiming and throwing. If it were me, I would also strike the moment I started throwing.

Besides, the boys’ base was still moving around without stopping after taking my attack earlier. Seems like they knew that they’ll be easy targets if they stand still. But despite thinking that far, why didn’t they make a wall themselves? Is it because of that peace-loving idiot Friedrich? But whatever. I have a countermeasure for that.

I closed in to throwing distance to the boys’ base and immediately jumped.

I flew two meters into the air, while Friedrich and the boys stared at me while being taken aback.

“Tei! Tei! To—!”

I threw my mud balls at the boys as I flew.

“Now!”

The boys followed Friedrich’s orders and aimed at me, and then mud balls started flying at me.

But it’s too weak!

“Blau! Maximum output!”

“Roger, master!”

Blau increased the output to maximum, and thanks to that, the balls thrown at me falls following gravitational pull. If I flew up, gravity will help me, so it’s relatively simple to deflect the enemy attack.

“Wind Elemental!?”

“It’s her fairy!”

You’re all a bit too late in noticing it, gentlemen. Friedrich was the only one who wasn’t surprised since he could see the flow of Mana. He’s thinking of how to deal with this situation right now.

But the battlefield isn’t a leisurely place where you can take your sweet time considering.

“Ju~st, Landing!”

With the momentum of my flight, I landed in the middle of the boys’ base. I only have one goal.

“Alright, I shall annihilate all of you here, gentlemen.”

The place I landed was the place where the boys stockpiled the mud balls they made.

The boys were just done throwing their mud balls at me, so right now they’re unarmed. They’re all sitting ducks.

“Tei! Tei! Tei!”

I continuously slung mud balls at the boys lined up before me and exterminated them. I don’t want Friedrich to glare at me later, so I aimed for his legs. I admit I’m truly a coward.

“Match finished!”

The moment I annihilated the boys’ base, the PE teacher sounded his whistle.

“Aah. What can I say. The match ended up differently than what I expected, but both camps followed the rules and fought well. That enthusiasm of yours are commendable.”

You can’t really commend just enthusiasm. You need to win the war.

“But I think I need to revise the rule…Also, miss Astrid, please do not use Blood Magic without permission in this class next time. Although the class is under teacher supervision, Blood Magic is still dangerous.”

“Okaay!”

Tch. I thought the PE class is a good chance to experiment with Blood Magic. But they won’t notice if I use it to fiddle with the nervous system, right? That’s okay, right?

“Well, well. Should I say I couldn’t expect less from Astrid.”

“N-No, it was pure luck, you know? Luck.”

I knew that Friedrich would get involved with me if I stood out and win, but I still wanted to win this game of chance, so here I am, standing out. I actually started to think if I’m an idiot or something.

“Please don’t be humble. You have already known how to use Blood Magic after all. Also not only you have a talent in magic, it seems like you also have a talent in battles. You erected a wall to your front, defended both your flanks, and you with the most mobility went for the attack. It was a magnificent strategy.”

Oh? I thought you’re a peace-loving idiot, but you can read tactics as well, huh. It’s quite obvious though, right? He’s a prince after all, so he would’ve been given a more special education than a duke’s daughter like me. He probably had learned about military history too.

“But it would have been great if this could be a world where someone like you do not have to fight, right?”

Keh. In the end you went back to this? You’re still a peace-loving idiot after all.

“The age of Flames and Steel is upon us, so shouldn’t the empire be mobilizing its human resources instead?”

“The age of Flames and Steel…is it. I do understand that, but I feel that I want to avoid that.”

The Prussian Empire had spread its military forces admirably. The Oestreich empire wants to decide who will take control of Reich for many years. I also heard that Empress Ekaterina of the Melliaria Empire is planning to encircle the Prussian Empire before long.

In the game, the Prussian Empire was just barely overtaken the age of Flames and Steel, but in the end, there was no other choice to go to war.

The age of Flames and Steel is upon us. But then this Prince comes along!

“Adolf-sama, I truly apologize. I have soiled your clothes…”

“Clothes for PE is meant to be stained in the first place. Besides, I seem to have stained your handkerchief as well. I shall wash it and return it to you. Forgive me.”

Wait, oh my? Adolf and Miine-kun is gradually getting closer, aren’t they?

Hmm hmm. This is nice. Please continue dealing with that landmine away from me.
