“I am Dietrich Ruprecht von Wallenstein, I shall be in your care from now on. I look forward to your guidance” said the little Adolf. He’s Adolf’s little brother Dietrich. He looks just like a little Adolf, while his personality is gentle which probably explains how he’s introducing himself so calmly.

“Looking forward to, Dietrich-kun. I’m Astrid from the first year of middle school. This is my cousin Iris from the 3rd year of elementary school. Please be good to her.

“I-I’m Iris. I’m looking forward for your company.”

Iris’ shyness appears once again in the form of her usual habit of hiding behind me. You really like my back, don’t you?

“T-Thank you, Iris-senpai.”

What’s this? Dietrich’s face turned red! Did you fall for Iris by any chance? Noo you can’t, Iris already has a fiancée you know.

Afterwards, another high-noble looking boy replaced his place and came forward.

“I am Wörner Albrecht von Württemberg, Iris-senpai’s fiancée. I am pleased to make your acquaintance.”

So you’re the rumored Wörner-kun, eh? He’s got a gallant face despite being a first-year elementary school student and he’s going to be the head of the Württemberg ducal family in the future. You’ve gotten yourself a good man, Iris.

Or so I thought, but Iris herself was completely quiet. I mean, I get it. The whole fiancée thing aside, her shyness only made her even more nervous. It’s a type of relationship that blazed through the whole “let’s start off as a friend” and right into marriage territory, so obviously it would be tough for Iris.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Iris’ cousin Astrid. Let’s take it easy with the formality.”

“Yes, thank you very much.”

This Wörner-kun looks like he’s also blushing as he saw Iris. She managed to bring down two boys at the same time, how devilish of her.

“Do you think you can talk with Wörner-kun, Iris?”

“No…I’m afraid I’m going to say something impolite…”

Hmm, her shyness seems to be severe and chronic.

“It’s alright, It’s okay. I’m here with you, aren’t I? Let’s try talking with him for a spell. You need to get along with your fiancée, and it’s also important to socialize, right? Don’t you think it’s better to marry a friend and not a stranger?”

“I would rather marry onee-sama.”

I’m really happy that you feel that way, but I can’t marry you, Iris. I would if I could though.

“Alright then, let’s try talking. Onee-chan will be with you.”

“Okay!”

Pumping herself up, Iris got up from her seat.

“Wörner-kun, one moment?”

“How can I help, Astrid-senpai?” replied Wörner-kun.

“Can we chat a bit? You, me, and Iris, the three of us.”

“That is fine. I too wish to deepen my relations with my fiancée.” He said, smiling. “Iris-senpai, what does it feel like to be in this academy?”

“It’s not bad…because I can spend time with onee-sama…” answered Iris in a whisper.

“I hope I can get used to the academy. I hope I can get through my school life together with you, just like how you enjoy yours together with Astrid-senpai.”

Seems like Wörner-kun is fluent in sweet talking. Iris’ face is beet red now.

“Wörner,” Then, a sudden call out from Dietrich-kun. “Are you Iris-senpai’s fiancée?”

“That’s right. We are going to be married to unite the Württemberg family and the Braunschweig family.”

“A political marriage, huh” spat out Dietrich-kun in response. “Does Iris-senpai consent to that?”

“Of course. Isn’t that right, Iris-senpai?”

Woah! Is this a battle for Iris!? A battle for a girl as a first grader? This world is something else, I tell you. These boys are totally unlike elementary schoolers of my previous world.

“Uh…um…the marriage is something father decided…” Iris hid behind my back again, stuttering.

“Seems like your fiancée is not really thinking far ahead, is he.”

“Of course not. She only shrunk back because of what you said. This marriage is something way more important than you thought it would be.”

“Nobility is all you think of, huh. How miserable.”

Guys, the Iris you’re talking about is trembling behind my back you know. Would it hurt you to pay attention to that? You’re scaring off the little girl you know?

“Very well then, I challenge you to a duel! If I win, you shall back off!”

“I accept! Iris-senpai is my fiancée!”

God damn it…it actually ended up in a fight. I’m sure Iris can settle this with just one sentence, but she’s got her shyness in the way.

Still though, shouldn’t we put a stop to this? I mean they said they’re going for a duel, so wouldn’t it fall on us upperclassman to be their supervisor if they get hurt or anything? Is this okay?

Adolf! Don’t just stand there looking around, stop your brother! Also, Friedrich, isn’t it your responsibility as a prince to stop this as well!? Am I the only one with common sense in this salon!?

“B-boys, can we not do this? It’s going to be dangerous if someone gets hurt.”

“No, I cannot call myself a man of this country if I do not finish this!”

Wörner-kun shut down my attempt at stopping them with one sentence. You’re a first-grade student, not a warrior! Stop talking about being a man of the country!

“Let’s take this outside. I’ll bring an end to this.”

“Very well.”

Woaah, they’re really going at it!

“Adolf-sama, your highness Friedrich! These two elementary schoolers are about to go out on a duel! Aren’t you going to stop them!?”

Oi, you guardians, do your damn job!

“It’s a duel between 6-year-olds, it’s not a big deal.” Said Adolf.

“Well they are confronting each other with their names on the line, so us third party couldn’t do anything about it.” Said Friedrich.

These guardians are beyond useless, I swear. Especially you Adolf, this is your little brother we’re talking about!”

“T-Then, onee-san will be the witness, so no one gets hurt, okay?”

“I am not afraid of getting hurt.”

I AM! The upperclassman like me is the one responsible of their supervision!!

“Alright then, let’s go outside with onee-san. I can heal you with Blood Magic if you get hurt but don’t take it too far, okay? If you hurt each other it’ll be awkward for the Round Table don’t you think?”

Spearheading the two troublemakers and Iris, I started making my way for the school’s courtyard. I wonder if Bernhardt-sensei had to deal with things like these in his teaching intern days. It’s not surprising that he’d be disheartened if that’s the case. No matter what happens, I can’t see myself being a teacher.

“Alright, I’ll explain the rules,” I said to the two troublemakers, Dietrich-kun and Wörner-kun. “Since you both don’t have sabers, you can use these rubber swords onee-san prepared. You shouldn’t get hurt badly if you get hit by it.”

Using Earth magic, I created soft rubber I used to make rubber bullets with to make these swords. With this, they should be fine even if they hit each other.

“But this couldn’t be called a real fight!”

“You’ll have to do with what you have.”

The moment you start bringing out real swords is the moment I would start stopping you with all I have. Thankfully this academy is not so lawless that it permits students holding actual swords.

“Anyways, the one who landed a hit on the opponent with these swords first is the winner. You absolutely cannot aim for the face though, got it?”

“I really couldn’t call this a real duel…”

Both Dietrich-kun and Wörner-kun seem dissatisfied with my rules,

“I won’t let people who don’t abide by the rules talk to Iris.”

“!?”

But I have no intention of backing off. I still don’t want them to hurt themselves since firstly, I can’t say what the teachers would do if they get hurt, and secondly, I’m pretty sure we the upperclassmen are going to be the one who will get our asses handed to us by duke Württemberg and the Wallenstein house if that happens. I want every bit of help to go against the imperial household when things go south, so I really don’t want to get on the bad side of the Württemberg house, especially when it’s about to go well since Iris was about to be married into their family. Hopefully then the high-ranking nobles will stand with the Oldenburg family to save them when we fall…I hope so.

“Astrid-senpai, do you mind if we use magic on our fight?”

“Sure, but you can’t use spells that endanger the opponent’s life.” I’m sure a first grader won’t have much spells to use. “Alright, get in your positions.”

Hoping for the best, I gave them both fair conditions for them to fight so neither of them could say that I was impartial.

“Ready and…begin!”

The moment I gave my mark, the two begin to move.

Dietrich-kun was the faster one of the two. It shows that he’s the son of the head of the Chivalric Order. He closed his distance with Wörner-kun in an instant and swung his rubber sword sideways…but Wörner-kun wasn’t planning to lose either.

He stopped Wörner-kun’s attack, and with his parry, he broke Dietrich-kun’s posture. Without a moment’s delay, Dietrich-kun took up another posture and launched another attack, only for Wörner-kun to dodge it by the skin of his teeth.

…Are these guys really first graders? Are you sure that these kids don’t have “Master Swordsman.exe” installed in them?

The two kept exchanging attacks with me panicking in confusion whether or not they’re going to hurt each other while Iris too was panicking.

At that moment, Wörner-kun launched another attack.

“Wind!”

It was a basic Elemental Magic, but the power was quite something. He kicked up a literal storm and broke Dietrich-kun’s posture before pursuing him. I thought that was the end of it, but—

“HAAH!!”

Dietrich-kun did an impossible leap and dodged Wörner-kun’s attack.

Did he just use Blood Magic?

“Tch…Flames!”

Now hold on a second didn’t I tell you to not use spells that can endanger the opponent? Why’d you start using Fire magic now? Are you an idiot?

As I thought that, it turned out that the flames only burn brightly behind Dietrich-kun, not scoring a direct hit. It seems like Wörner-kun’s plan was to cut off his escape route all along.

“Water!”

Next, Wörner-kun launched a Water elemental magic to soak up Dietrich-kun’s footing.

“HAAH!”

“You…!”

And then, the two of them clashed.

“Kuuh…”

The two’s rubber swords hit each other. Both of them scored a hit at the same time.

“That’s it! It’s a draw!”

“Huuh!?”

The two looked bewildered from my call.

“My sword hit him first!”

“Mine hit him before his!”

Yup yup, I’m relieved now that your childish side is showing up.

“Nope, you both scored a hit at the same time. As a witness, I clearly saw it. Don’t you think they both hit at the same time, Iris?”

“Y-yes! They hit at the same time!”

After Iris’ statement, Wörner-kun and Dietrich-kun openly dropped their shoulders. I know that you boys want to show off to Iris, but you’re both still children.

“Let me see now. Rubber swords as they are, it should’ve hurt, right? Did it bruise?”

“N-No, I’m alright, senpai.”

I lifted Dietrich-kun’s shirt to check for injuries but the boy himself started flailing about. Calm down, I’m not a shotacon that would get excited over a first-grader’s body, alright.

“Woah, look. It’s bruised alright. Let me heal you.”

It’s quite a bruise since Wörner-kun didn’t seem to hold back in that blow. If his parents see this, they might suspect that he got bullied, so let me just quickly destroy the evidence. With the help of Blood Magic, I managed to completely heal his bruse.

…I’ve been healing people a lot recently, haven’t I.

“Alright, this should be fine. Does it still hurt?”

“It doesn’t hurt from the start, but um…thank you very much…” replied Dietrich-kun, his face completely red…which is something I’d prefer you to stop since you looking like that while I forcefully lift your shirt makes me look like a criminal.

“Alright, now let me have a look at you, Wörner-kun.”

“I-I’m fine! It doesn’t feel painful or anything!”

Forcefully opening the flailing Wörner-kun’s shirt, there’s a bruise as I expected, and his bruise looks noticeably worse than Dietrich-kun’s. He really smashed you with Blood Magic, didn’t he? You’re still a first grader, why are you doing something so dangerous?

“Alright then, here comes a heal.”

Just like I did to Dietrich-kun, I healed Wörner-kun completely. Just in case, I also went ahead to check if there are any damages to their internal organs. Boy might have inflicted some internal damage with his Blood Magic, so it couldn’t hurt to check.

“Alright, all green. You’re good now.”

“T-Thank you very much, senpai.”

Look, I’m telling you, spare me the blushing…

“Iris-senpai,” said Wörner-kun, approaching Iris after he got healed. “Are you…disappointed that I wasn’t able to claim victory…?”

“N-No…I would prefer that you do not fight from now on. I um…I love kind people like onee-sama, so…” Iris replied, fidgeting.

“I understand. I too shall be just like Astrid-senpai, so please do not be disappointed.”

“Yes…”

Kuuh, how dare you flirt like that while still being in a first grade! I don’t have a partner, you know!?

Sigh…well, at least now the problem is solved. I hope Iris can use this chance to talk a lot more with Wörner-kun though. Still though, I kind of feel sorry for Dietrich-kun for not being able to win over Iris.

Well, for a boy with your looks and decent magic skills like you, I’m sure you’ll have girls flooding to you, so best of luck, boy!
