His father frowned and said, “You are already 9 years old. Those are for little kids!”
Huo YanXiao followed the little boy’s look and saw a little girl around 5-6 years old, in her pastel-colored princess outfit, eating a cotton candy that was bigger than her head.
For some reason, he thought about Nie AnAn and asked the girl standing next to her, “AnAn, do you want cotton candy?”
Nie AnAn, too, overhead the conversation between the father and son. She looked up at him with her limpid eyes and said in the most serious tone, “Big brother, I am already 20 years old.”
In front of them, the father and son duo had also overheard their conversation. They turned around.
The little boy, in an accusatory tone said, “Dad, her brother was going to get the 20-year-old big sister a cotton candy! I am only 9. Why can’t I have one?”
The father looked the two of them up and down and said in a low voice, “It’s not the same.”
“How’s it not the same? I am still a baby!” said the little boy, feeling unjust.
The man was already getting impatient. He yanked the boy over and said, “They are brother and sister, and we are father and son.”
The boy had no idea what the difference was.
