By now, Nie AnAn had already crawled into bed and was about to turn in. Feeling a little thirsty, she went downstairs to pour herself a glass of water.
Not wanting to disturb the other guests, she walked very lightly. The inn has already closed for the day, so the first floor was very quiet.
Amidst the quiet of the night, Nie AnAn could make out some faint conversation from the outside.
She was just going to ignore it at first. After all, it’s someone else’s personal matters.
But then, she heard her own name.
She held her breath and shuffled quietly toward the window.
Outside of the window, there was Qin ZiMing and Li ManGe having an argument.
“ZiMing, are you still mad at me?” Li ManGe’s eyes were a little red. “You haven’t talked to me for so long! I knew what I did was wrong, but that’s only because I love you too much!”
Inside the room, Nie AnAn had goosebumps.
Seeing that Qin ZiMing had no response, Li ManGe carried on, “Why are you so upset anyway? Is it because you have feelings for Nie AnAn? Is it because she has gotten pretty and her cooking was delicious? You have feelings for her now?”
Qin ZiMing finally started talking. “That’s not it. You are overthinking this. It’s very late now and this is not some remote or private place. Must you do this right here right now?”
“Alright, then we can go talk this out in your room or mine.” Li ManGe was pretty much offering herself up by saying that.
Qin ZiMing, on the other hand, just said, “I’m tired and want to go to bed. We can talk about this tomorrow.” Having said that, he pinched between his brows impatiently.
Suddenly, Li ManGe was enraged by his attitude. Her eyes turned red and she said to him, “Did you really fall in love with someone else?”
Her chest heaving up and down. Seeing that Qin ZiMing had his phone in his hand the entire time, she dashed over there and ripped it out of his hand.
She knew his code so she unlocked his phone right away. Immediately, she saw a gossip that shocked her eyeballs.
She looked up abruptly and blurted out, “Huo YanXiao is your half brother on your dad’s side? Is that true?”
Irritated, Qin ZiMing said, “How’d I know where this post came from? Now you know. I’ve got enough on my mind and don’t have time to deal with love and romance matters right now.”
This time round, Li ManGe didn’t say anything more about that subject. “Then you should look into it quickly. If it was true, and everybody had found it. It is going to get messy.”
Of course all those thoughts had already occurred to Qin ZiMing. He snickered and said, “Hoho, no wonder he volunteered to be on this show!”
Having said that, he turned and walked back toward the inn.
Nie AnAn dared not get her water anymore. She removed her slippers and quietly walked back upstairs.
It was only after she had returned to her own room that she patted herself on her chest and let out a long breath.
Her older brother and Qin ZiMing were brothers? She really didn’t know that.
After all, she skipped a lot after the death of the original owner and missed a lot of details.
She had, however, given some thought about Huo YanXiao catching the virus in the novel and thought that was a bit odd. But if it was because of his background, then it’d all make sense.
According to the timeline in the book, Huo YanXiao would catch the virus two years from now. This coincided with the time that Qin Hai, his father, was diagnosed with end stage liver cancer.
Meaning that if Huo YanXiao didn’t die and was confirmed that he was part of the Qin’s, then he’d be every bit as entitled to Qin Hai’s inheritance as Qin ZiMing.
Nie AnAn felt her heart pounding and she had to force herself to calm down. She sat in front of the window and started thinking it all through.
And, as she was thinking them through, an idea occurred to her suddenly –
