Chapter 6 - “Ge-ge, can you slow down please? (2)

They arrived on the first floor quickly and Huo YanXiao, ignoring Nie AnAn who was standing next to him, walked out by himself.

His pace was brisk. Nie AnAn, with her high heels wasn’t able to catch up with him. As she was about to lose him, Nie AnAn reached out, grabbed the corner of his shirt with her trembling hand and said, “Ge-ge.”

Huo YanXiao paused quickly in his steps, turned, and gave the woman half a step behind him a cold glance.

“Ge-ge, can you slow down please? I can’t keep up anymore,” said Nie AnAn softly, her voice like that of a fragile little sheep.

Even though Huo YanXiao did not respond to her, he did slow down his pace.

The two arrived at the front of the club, and the car was already waiting there.

Cucumber was a little stunned when he saw Nie AnAn walked out with Huo YanXiao together, but he immediately nodded and bowed, “Boss Huo, if you are here too then I don’t need to take Miss home…”

“I’m not heading home. You take her back.” Huo YanXiao’s voice was low and magnetic, with an unchallengeable decisiveness.

Cucumber nodded right away and said, “Miss, please get into the car.”

Nie AnAn looked up at Huo YanXiao. Was it her imagination? She felt that he purposefully did not want to be in the same car as her.

She had just transmigrated over. For her own safety, she must work her on her relationship with her cold-blooded and vicious brother, but being overly clingy wasn’t the way to go.

Coming to that conclusion, Nie AnAn let go of the corner of his shirt and got inside the car.

Looking at the sight of the street from inside the car, Nie AnAn said in her very soft voice, “Cucumber, I wanted to remove the tattoos on my face tomorrow. Can you make an appointment for me? The earlier the better.”

Cucumber wasn’t at all surprised when he heard that. He merely said, “Miss, you have your eyes on something even more domineering? Have you forgotten, you have your own tattoo artist over at SO. You don’t need an appointment.”

Nie AnAn feigned a yawn and her voice was even softer than before, “Alright, then pick me up tomorrow morning at 9 AM and take me there.”

When they arrived back at the mansion, Nie AnAn tried to use her thumbprint to unlock the front door. Sure enough, the door opened up for her.

She walked inside. This was the first chance she had to really take a good look at the setup of this place.

The spacious living room was primarily of the colors black, white, and grey, an undeniable ascetic style. Neat and orderly, this must be Huo YanXiao’s style.

The second floor has two bedrooms and a study. The top floor consisted of a workout room and an indoor pool.

Of the two bedrooms on the second floor, the one to Nie AnAn’s room was ajar and the one to Huo YanXiao’s was shut tightly. She wondered what it looked like inside.

It was mentioned in the novel that the original owner liked to collect knives, which was why Nie AnAn saw that there were over 10 knives, all of different sizes, hanging in her bedroom.

She looked up and down the room and didn’t see anything that would offer her any clues, but after moving around some, she started getting hungry. She headed downstairs to the kitchen.

Perhaps because Huo YanXiao has too many enemies, he wasn’t in the habit of hiring servants at home.

Even when he and Nie AnAn were living in a mansion, he only had helpers came on a regular basis to clean up instead of having any live-on help.

Nie AnAn frowned immediately when she opened up the fridge, and all she could find was instant noodles and sodas inside.

She couldn’t eat those.

So this was what Huo YanXiao had been eating at home?

Before she had transmigrated over, Nie AnAn was a nutritionist primed by her family.

At the age of 14, the quality of her cooking had already exceeded that of Michelin chefs. In addition, she was impeccable when it came to the combination of food and their nutritious value.

At the age of 18, she had already entered into an international nutritionist competition representing her family.

Unfortunately, she had an accident on the way there and ended up here.
