"Well... Where, should I start...?"

Cole scratched his cheek as he thought of what to say first. Eva simply stared at him in expectation with curiosity in full bloom in her gray eyes.

"Then how about when I was a child?"

"!!"

"Haha..."

Eva didn't use words to express her agreement and just intensified her stare to show her interest.

Cole couldn't help but laugh at how excited she was.

"Then let's start..."

"When I was a child, I mostly lived with my mother and my father would rarely come visit due to him being so busy. So, it was usually only me and my mother..."

2043, After the〈Fall〉

It was late noon, the city started turning on more and more of its beautiful neon lights as the sun set.

The tall buildings, floating homes, flying cars all seemed to gear up for the rowdy evening to come.

But there was one boy that seemed to be disconnected from all the hype.

He seemed to only be around 7 years old and seemed quite weak and anemic due to his pale skin.

His silver hair was unique and popped out in most crowds, but it was disheveled and had a few leaves stuck here and there.

His white dress shirt was dirtied with mud and filth. His scrawny legs had a few tiny scratches with a little blood flowing from them.

His shoes also had mud stuck to its soles which even eft a few traces of brown on his white socks.

"Haa... Haa... Haa..."

He also seemed to be losing his breath with his panting and yet that did not hinder the bright and energetic smile on his face.

He was running on a path towards a hill, away from the city center. Every time he stepped on a tile, it would light up causing him to leave a multicolored trail behind him.

The trail continued until he finally reached the top of the small hill.

On top of the hill was a white, spherical-shaped house with blue-syained windows. Patches of grass surounded the house and it had a tree with a tire swing to one of its more sturdier branches.

There was also a mechanical robot dog plugged in to its charging port of a doghouse in front of the boy's home.

He ran straight to the door and pressed his hand on where the nowhere to be seen keyhole would be.

A bluish screen then appeared underneath his palm and slowly turned green after a few seconds.

*KACHAK*

The sound of the door unlocking then resounded out, making the door slide to the boy's left allowing him to enter before closing again.

"Mom! I'm home!

The boy shouted. His shout had caused a woman sporting the same hair color as him to peek out from one of the walls.

*SIZZLE SIZZLE*

It seemed that she was still in tbe middle of cooking for you could still hear the sounds coming from inside the kitchen.

"You're home already, Cole? Okay, dinner will be ready in a bit, take a bath and then we'll tend to your wounds.

And then she went back to the kitchen to cook.

"Okay!"

Cole did as she say and went upstairs to go have a bath. It only took a few minutes with the auto clean function on.

And by the time Cole was all squeaky clean, dinner was already fully prepared for him on the table.

"Wow! They're all my favorite foods!"

As Cole went down and entered the dining room, white, rectangular screens popped up above the dishes.

It also noted the dish's nutrition facts such as calories, vitamins and minerals to which the young Cole could care less about.

He hurriedly sat on his chair and the excitement could be clearly seen on his face and the fact that his legs kept swinging around.

"Haha... Calm down, Cole."

Cole's mother chuckled at his antics and sat down with him after she washed her hands.

She then put her hands together and said a small prayer to which Cole followed.

"Well then, let's eat."

Cole just nodded before digging in. His mother let out her usual soft smile at his childish actions.

"Mom, how is you're cooking so good? When I tried to help you, I ended up destroying the house with the frying pan."

"... But then again, that was 2 years ago and I had even helped fix up the house, so maybe I can do better now!

"Hmmm..."

Cole's mother looked up to the house's ceiling and thought for a bit. Cole shivered bevause he realized that was the pose that his mother would use when she was seriously thinking about something.

"Why not? Let's go for a galactic trip while we're at it then!"

"Really, mom?! Thank you! I love you!

With the seal of approval given by his mother, Cole hugged his mother across the table, nearly knocking away the dishes in the process.

The smiles that both of them had made the scen incredibly heartwarming.

"But mom, you should really change your hairstyle. Moms with it always die in anime."

"..."

If only Cole hadn't let out that remark, thus destroying the moment.

"... And thus started my journey to become a great chef. But I turned into a hero of some war in the〈Avant Zone〉"

"Ooh..."

Eva let out an understanding sound, but it seemed like a yawn to Cole for her eyes were already constantly switching between on and off.

"... And that's all for today. I'll tell you about the rest some other time."

With that, Eva's sleepy eyes immediately shot open and her mouth gaped in astonishment.

"Eeeeh? I thought you were going to say everything!"

"I didn't say it would be now."

"..."

Eva stared in dissatisfaction at Cole. Cole didn't mind it and just tucked her in.

"Good night, Eva."

"... night."

Cole turned off the light and exited out the door.

He was going to go down to his room and go to sleep, but before he took the first step, he stopped and without turning around said.

"...You heard all of that right, Felicia?
