The Woman Who Accepted Her Fate Chapter 18: Contentment

Ji family’s house was completely built finish and it was 4 rooms Beijing building. The building was tall and was made of granitic plaster. Beautiful window frames were made from aluminum alloy and each held a huge piece of glass. Not only did the house looked bright and spacious, there was no longer any place where the sunlight would not be able to shine on. Also, no wind would be able to torment them and no rain would be able to leak into the house. Most importantly, they no longer need to fear that the house might suddenly collapse.

The newly-weds and the Ji old couples moved into that new house and with money on hand. Everything they had wished for had been fulfilled. Looking from the outside, the appearance of the house was no different from all the rest of the village’s houses, it’s just that they were living an industrious and amiable, rich and happy life.

Usually, after Xiaodi finished her duties at her current home, most of the time she would visit her parents’ home. She was glad of her choice. To be able to see her family live a happy life, she only felt satisfaction. No matter how much hardship she had to face, she felt that it was worth it. Even more so, she was also living very well as all her basic needs were in abundance.

She would help her sister-in-law to tidy the house, do housework and take care of her mother. Everybody would come together to have an enjoyable time chatting with each other. Peng Jiafu did not stop Xiaodi from going back to her parents’ home as he knew that this would help his daughter and since Xiaodi had nothing to do at home and she was also lonely, he felt that this matter was fine to him.

Of course, to all the outsiders, what they saw was a pair of weird and eye-catching couple that was living harmoniously and happily together. At least there weren’t any quarreling noises coming out of their house. Maybe somebody was already starting to get envious of this intermarriage relationship, a wise move made.

Xiaodi seemed to be very satisfied with her current well-off life. She did not feel bad with her husband or maybe she felt that this kind of ending for her was already very good. Though her husband rarely doted on her, she was fine with it as he had greatly helped her family and she was grateful for that.

Of course, when Xiaodi treated others, she would always look at their good side. Hence she believed that the reason why her husband treated her parents well was because he was doing it for her, and for this, she was grateful to him and was satisfied with his actions! She never thought that her the reason was due to her sister-in-law being her husband’s one and only biological daughter.

Time is traceless but it would still leave an indelible mark on people. Unknowingly, it was the September 1997 and Xiaodi’s quiet life had come to an end as her sister-in-law gave her to an adorable nephew. The whole family was happy and contend.

This round, the baby would be named by Fengying as in the Ji family, she was treated like a queen! At the start, she was loved and respected by the family, but as she had given the Ji family a chubby baby boy, her position in the family had drastically risen!

The first to speak was the father, “Fengying ah, to give birth to this child, you have suffered. In this family, since you are the most educated, the child’s name shall be decided by you.”

Fengying swept her eyes over the family members. In this family, everybody loved and cared for her, she felt a bit embarrassed! Xiaomei magnanimously smiled, “No problem, you can name the child! Whatever you named him will always sound nice!”

Actually, when she was pregnant, she had secretly thought of a name for the child. This time, she embarrassedly said, “Then, Ji Xiangan? Ok? To always be safe. His nickname is Anan?”

Mother grinned and laughed out, “This is a good name. Let’s call him Anan then!”

Though mother was blind, once she learned that she had a grandson, her wrinkles seemed to lessen and she was all smiles. She was currently left with a few teeth so when she smiled and laughed, the inside of her mouth was exposed. With the help of Xiaodi, she gently felt about the child’s face while still worrying that she might accidentally hurt the child.

Ji Fuxing was so happy that he was smiling from ear to ear when he saw everyone was smiling as he could not help but smiled too. He never dreamed that he, not only has a son and a daughter, he also has a grandchild. He finally can face his foster parents. He was exuberant!

Xiaomei had now become a father and he got an unspeakable feeling of happiness. Looking at the small little life, his heart had an indescribable feeling of excitement. This child is his next generation and is also the hope of his life! With a son, his world would be completely different!

Fengying even more so could not suppress her joy. She finally had her own child! She wanted to give all the motherly love to her own flesh and blood. As her mother left her when she was young, she knew how pitiful the child would be without mother’s love. She wanted her child to be the world most blessed child.

Watching the whole family immersed in the blessing of happiness, Xiaodi also felt the joy. This was what she wished for. It was as if the reason for her life was for the sake of her family’s happiness. When they were happy, she would too be happy.

As the mother was blind and her brother is a guy so he inevitably might be somewhat careless, hence Xiaodi would spend most of her time to take care of her nephew. She covered all the work, including changing and washing the baby’s cloth diaper which would be stained with urine or feces (at that time, children aren’t fortunate like now. Everything will be fine as long as the ‘diaper’ is dry).

Xiaodi loved her nephew and that closeness to the child was more than the biological family members to him. This caused her to not able to resist kissing him. She would give him all her love. Looking at the cute and lovely baby, at this moment, she really felt happy and satisfied.

Occasionally, she would pray to God and imagined herself to have such an adorable baby. This caused her to be a bit envious of her sister-in-law! However, her stomach still remained the same and this caused her importance to be lesser in the eyes of Fengying’s father.
