hapter 19 Disappeared

In the city of Qingliu, Wutang prefecture.

At noon that day, a teenager followed the crowds to slowly enter the East Gate with a broad sword on his shoulder.

Qingliu was among the top three cities in Wutang prefecture and there was a luxuriously decorated restaurant in front of the city gate. As the teenager entered the city, he had attracted the attention of all the people in the restaurant.

“That guy has unexpectedly broken through the heavy encirclement. . . ”

In a dim room, a window was cracked open so as to see the passing teenager on the street.

Three men gathered in front of the window to stare at the boy with great surprise.

"Brother, shall we take action as scheduled?" one younger man asked hesitantly.

Being fatigued from the journey, the boy was still stained with blood.

“Young master, according to the news we have gathered through our inquiries, the Qin family from Luoshui, the Qiu family from Helin, as well as Dayimen and Anyingzong . . . these forces might have sent their people, whose strength was no weaker than ours. Since he has come to Qingliu safe and sound, all those guys have certainly failed, even if they hadn’t been killed. If we take action now, I’m afraid. . . ” Beside them, there was an old person.

The head was a middle-aged man with a bronze face. He fixed his eyes on the back of the teenager who was striding along the street and his face seemed to be full of hesitation.

“Now, not only our Fengyugu Clan has arrived in Qingliu. As far as I know, there’re over six or seven clans here. We’d better wait and see instead of taking action eagerly.” The middle-aged man whispered his decision to the others.

Someone must take action first. Once they took the lead, it would be hard for the other clans to keep patient. After all, that guy was alone and he could not resist the attack of so many people no matter how powerful he was.

As long as we’re fishing in troubled waters, we should certainly seize the chance.

With a light flickering in his eyes, he was lost in thought. However, his face suddenly changed to reveal something doubtful.

"What is that guy going to do?" He frowned.

Being gazed at by him, the young man entered a shop.

Outside of the shop were some stalls, while inside was a big yard where some caravans were stationed. Different people were busy with their own trades in a hubbub of voices.

As far as they knew, the boy came all the way here without making any stops.

"Does he want to trade something?" he couldn't help but wonder aloud.

He focused all his attention on the door of the shop. Time passed slowly. Half an hour, an hour. . .  The boy had not come out yet.

In several inns and restaurants nearby, some couldn’t keep their patience any longer. They sent dozens of people to mix in with the pedestrians in the street and continuously approach the shop.

Most of the people stayed outside and strolled aimlessly, while only seven or eight entered the shop.

The three inside stared at those outside, waiting patiently. About half an hour passed; the seven or eight people who entered just now went out in a haste with bags of goods in their hands.

They met with the ones standing outside and shook their heads. Immediately, all of them seemed quite depressed.

“Disappeared?” The three people inside gazed at each other, feeling deeply puzzled.

 “Something’s wrong with the shop. . . ”

To the east of Wutang prefecture were continuous mountains and, on the edge, there was an ancient ruin.

Inside the ruin there were many giant swords being erected like endless mountains. The shortest one was even several meters long and the longest one was over tens of meters. Due to the time that’d gone by, it was now impossible to trace where these ruins had come from. On the giant swords, some thick stone skins had been condensed and some had even been locked by thick chains, which were yet to rot even now.

Many people used to come to explore the ruins, hoping to find some secrets. However, without exception, they all left with great disappointment. The ruins were located in remote areas of rugged terrain, so no one had ever showed interest in them. As the years had passed, nobody had ever claimed ownership over all these ruins ‘til a few decades ago, when a powerful martial arts practitioner surnamed Wu came to settle down and gradually set up a family.

That’s how the Wu family came into being in the Jianzhonglin Clan.

In the world of martial arts, the Wu family was only a small clan of the third class. However, it was quite well-known due to the Jianzhonglin Clan.

The Wu family was only established a few decades ago, in less than three generations and with insufficient immediate descendants. It hadn’t been easy at all for them to be ranked among the third-class clans.

In the center of Jianzhonglin, there was a space surrounded by giant swords. Among them, a palace with attics was built, which was solid and practical instead of being luxurious.

Outside, a young boy rushed from afar and raised his head to have a look at the familiar swords, then his nervous face immediately eased a lot.

 “Finally, I’ve come back!”

The boy took a long breath, since it was not easy for him to come back. If he tried his best to push on, it would only cost him a day and night, but now he had been delayed for a whole day.

While he was walking into the Jianzhonglin, a crowd of people were just rushing out.

An elder in gray robes, accompanied by a man and a woman, was walking out. They saw him off miles away before waving goodbye.

“Big brother, we didn’t expect you would invite such a highly-skilled doctor, who had really done us a big favor, even if he could not save our grandfather. Thank you.” Looking at the figure of the elder drifting away, the girl showed some gratitude on her face.

Dressed in a long green dress, she looked very pretty, with a small nose, red lips, and white teeth. Her eyebrows so beautifully framed her soft facial outline that she seemed to be very gentle and elegant.

"As a disciple of the Wu family, that’s what I should do." The young man standing beside them shook his head and smiled gently. "The elder is the cornerstone of our Wu family. If possible, I would like to do everything possible to cure him."

"His situation is not bad now. At least he will never suffer from more pain." The girl shook her head, seemingly a little relaxed but still depressed.

“A Tian!”

 “A Tian is back. . . ”

Those standing behind suddenly screamed in surprise.

"Fifth brother is back?" With a glimmer of light in her eyes, she looked up into the distance. She was full of joy at the figure that was rushing from afar.

"Fifth brother!" the girl cheered and headed for the figure as quickly as possible.

The young man stood still with a smile on his face. Seeing the girl running toward him like a cheerful butterfly, he seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, but soon recovered despite a certain degree of depression.

"Fifth brother!" The disciples of the Wu family cheered and crowded to greet him.

"These guys. . . " Calming himself down, the young man stood still with a gentle smile, then moved forward.
