"Adam Ho, playboy, air steward, recently quit your job, the next heir of Ho Group, the leading perfume company in China, trying to breakthrough the international market, was hanging around Beijing for the past one month and was not spotted again casually with any girls. Are you stalking my wife?" Derek got up close to Adam when he asked the question. His tone was overbearing and his gaze held a strong contempt.
Adam was not afraid nor was he affected. His brain was processing the information he had in hand and suddenly he had an inkling the identity of the crazy and possessive man in front of him. He let out a loud laugh startling Derek in the process. "Derek Lee! It took me awhile to recognise you, in real time you do look like a demon compare to the docile image you portray in your wedding pictures, no wonder I could not recognize you. Hahaha. By the way, you can keep your wife because I do not have any interest in her, I am interested in the younger Miss Lu." Adam decided to come clean now that his identity has been exposed.
Derek's eyes were wide with shocked that they looked like they will pop out any minute. He finally connected the dots and he too started to laugh out loud. "I was wondering which idiot and it turns out it was you. Hahahaha." Derek said while signaling his hidden guards to withdraw, but it was a miscalculation on his behalf because the moment Adam was free he gave Derek a right hook. Adam was furious because Derek had made fun of him but the underlying message targets April as well.
Derek stopped laughing and turned serious when he saw Adam fist flying fast towards him, he managed to dodge his face out of danger but the fist landed on his right shoulder instead. Damn, this guy can really give a beating. Derek retaliated back and in the end the two ended up on the ground tussling and rolling around. Both were trying to take advantage of each other and trying to find the other weak points. Derek gained a upper hand and managed to pin Adam under him and was about to throw a punch when he heard a female shrieking.
"Let him go. Now!" It was April. Jade stood in place, assessing the situation. She signalled Chris to hold back April.
Derek did not proceed with the punch but he still held on to Adam, unwilling to let go.
"Let him go." Jade went close to Derek and pat him on the right shoulder and she frowned when she saw him flinched under her touch.
She offered him her hand and waited for him to release Adam. Derek obediently did as told. Once Derek was up, she signaled Chris to allow April to attend to Adam. April quickly rushed to Adam's side and helped him up. Both Derek and Adam had their heads hung low giving an impression of two juvenile delinquents got caught for fighting. They both had a disheveled appearance. Thank goodness both good looking faces were unharmed.
Adam cleared his throat, "Uh, can I have a moment with Derek? Em, alone please?" Adam stared at Jade since Jade seems to be one in charge here.
Jade nodded her head and got everybody to give the two some space. "April, come." Jade commanded, April was reluctant but released her hold on Adam's arm when she saw Adam signalling her with his eyes that this was what he wished for and he'll be fine.
April then followed the group of people out. Chris was trying hard to figure out the reason of the scuffle.
"April doesn't know I'm the heir, once everything is in place, I will confess to her but not now, I hope you can keep the information about me to yourself." Adam paused and then he continued to speak, "I'll admit you do have good taste. Your wife is a fine lady, hey.. stop glaring, listen to what I want to say first, like I said, I have no interest in her whatsoever but I would like her to guide April more to be better and to grow her own wings."
"Harrumph. I know my wife is the best. Don't you dare to try and covet her, if at any points I see that you try to covet her, you can say goodbye to your life, don't think of hurting her or anyone close to her. I'll make you suffer that you wished you were never born. Your secret is going to be safe with me, you have my words." Derek threatened Adam then his tone softened towards the end of the conversation. They shook hands like two gentlemen sealing a deal. They both emerged out of the room beside each other.
April glared at Derek and quickly hurried to Adam's side without caring about Derek's reaction. Derek was pleased with April's behaviour, at least she is no longer a pretentious fool. He kept that thought to himself.
Jade stood in front of Adam, looked at him challengingly and then spoke in a cold tone, "This would be the last time you lay your hands on my husband, if it ever happen again, I'll break those fingers off." She then took Derek's hands and dragged him away.
"Your sister is even more scarier than your brother in law." Adam said to April while tussling her hair.
"She is protective of her own people." April said with pride. The realisation hit her hard that she started to sob. "She is great, my sister."
"Silly girl, if she is great, then stick to her, learn from her, be as great as her, if not even greater." Adam said as he stared at her lovingly.
Chris was left at the side, eating dog food served by these two couples. Damn, why am I still single?
After some distance from the rest and out of piercing eyes, she grabbed him and checked him thoroughly for any injuries, she signalled for the hidden guards to get ice pack for his right shoulder. She gave his right shoulder a kiss before she applied the ice pack on it. Derek was satisfied with his wife's performance. He was smiling so brightly that the sun was jealous of his smile.
"Still smiling like a fool, so childish, such unruly behaviour. Aready an adult but behave like a kid. How are you going to be a father?" she berated him.
"Are you pregnant?" he asked excitedly.
Jade dropped her head and place her palm on her face. "You are missing the point. No, I am not pregnant.." She could not continue because she found his expression too funny. "I can't seem to be angry at you." She pinched his cheek.

"You'll tell me when you think it's appropriate, so I won't ask." Jade answered.
"My wife knows me best." Derek said shamelessly.
"Why did you fight with brother in law?" April asked Adam.
"It was some misunderstanding. It has been resolved. I was partially at fault as well, I attacked him first." Adam admitted. Chris who was standing not far away was observing the interaction between the two. He liked what he saw. He decided to leave them be and walked away.
