This year, Jade and Derek personally invited Master Lee to join them for Thanksgiving. April, Adam and Chris were invited as well. Jason and Jess confirmed their attendance. Sarah and Kwi Shan were unable to make it because Sarah promised Kwi Shan, this Christmas they would celebrate at Kwi Shan hometown.
Master Lee took the opportunity to officially step down as the and handed over total power to Derek to manage the Lee household and businesses. He presented Derek with a ring nearly similar to the Jade's engagement ring. The stunned Derek received a hug from his father, Lee Han Ting. From today onwards, Derek will be known as Master Lee and Jade as Madam Lee.
Jess and Jason were bickering as usual because Jess blamed Jason for missing out on the fundraising event. Jess was explaining to Jade the reason of their absence and Jason cut her off by saying their presence did not make any difference. Jess ignored Jason and continue to complain to Jade that she was tricked by Jason. Instead of bringing her to the event, he took her to an amusement park. She was clearly not amused because she was dressed for a formal event. She looked so out of place and the scoundrel actually got them a matching banana in pajamas PJs and made her walked around the park in that. He actually won her a big huge bear from the shooting game and made her drag the bear along. Such embarrassment only God knows how she felt.
The younger generation looked at the two of them weirdly and Jess could guessed the thoughts that went through those heads, they were thinking if the two of us just escaped from the loony bin. Derek stared at Jason in disbelief when he heard Jess recollection of their first date. Jade and April could not help but laugh at Jess's misery. Mr Lee did not want to participate in the younger generation love story and was quietly sipping a cup of hot Vietnamese drip coffee.
Adam was in awe with Jason. "You're the man, dude." That statement caused him to receive a glare from April, clearly not happy that Adam is worshipping the wrong guy.
She took Adam by the ear and told him to stay away from Jason who definitely a bad influence. "You better promise me now that you will never ever put me in such situation." April put on her most overbearing tone.
"Awww.. Ouch, it's so painful." Adam pouted. April quickly felt guilty for acting too dominant and fussed over Adam. Adam then winked to Jason when April is not looking because his trick worked and April has long forgotten about her earlier threat.
Jade just smiled, happy with the lively atmosphere. She took a cup of hot chocolate and head over to Mr Lee and Chris, both too engrossed in their conversation. Chris was trying to get pointers from Mr Lee regarding business management and Mr Lee was just too happy to share his experience. He took the opportunity to complain about Derek but his voice betrayed him because it was filled with warmth and admiration.
Jade decided to make a detour since the two were pretty comfortable in each others company. She headed towards Derek who was standing beside the frozen pond. The venue for this Thanksgiving was Derek's house. It's a double storey white bricked cottage house, a beautiful blend of modern and traditional styles with fresh neutral colour palette. Jade fell in love with this house the first time she came here but felt it was a little too big for just the two of them, hence, they decided to continue to stay at her condo instead.
"This place is beautiful, I would love to move in here if we have children." Those words just slipped out her mouth when she looked at Derek. Realising her slipped of tongue, she covered her mouth in surprised.
Derek on the other hand was happy. " You are no longer afraid of having children? Jade, I will be the happiest man alive if you agree to have babies with me. I promise you I would love them no matter what." he pledged.
"Even if they are imperfect?" Jade asked.
"Wifey, love is not about finding the perfect person but seeing an imperfect person perfectly. So, if my children are imperfect, I will love them even more because they are ours. Plus nothing in this world is perfect, so why not make a few more imperfections.
