April received the news of her father's death. She was very angry with her father because she blamed him for his failure as a father. Her father did a poor job in raising them and she was lucky to have met Adam, and in turn she became a better person. If it wasn't for Adam, she would have gone down the path of her mother. She was so deep in her thoughts and she was not paying attention to where she was walking. She bumped into a person and when she looked up, her eyes widened.

"April??!" Tom acted surprised to see April. This was all an act. He had stalked her for a few days already and decided to bumped into her coincidentally. Someone is already taking pictures of them in secret. He purposely position himself in a way at a certain angle they would appear intimate.
"What a surprise! I haven't seen you in ages. You look great!!" Tom exclaimed.
"Thanks. What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I'm here on a holiday." he replied. He asked her out for dinner to catch up but she declined, she told him she was a little tired and she needed to rest. He tried asking her out for other meals but she declined as well.
"I am seeing someone now and with our past history maybe it is not wise for us to contact or keep in touch with each other. I am sorry. You are a great guy and I really wish you meet someone or already has someone special." April said.
"Derek? I mean you finally managed to be with Derek?" Tom asked.
"Hahaha. No, that is my brother in law. In the past, I was muddled, I no longer harbour any feelings for Derek. My boyfriend's name is Adam." April explained.
"It is just dinner. Plus aren't we friends?" Tom said trying to persuade April to change her mind.
Tom could see that April had truly changed. Her dressing are no longer skimpy but has touches of elegance and simplicity. The colours are more mute and less jarring. He likes the new April. He feels a little unwilling to break April and Adam apart.
"I am sorry Tom. I really am tired. Plus I am happy now with my life. Please." April pleaded. Thinking about her past, April felt disgusted.

It is me, I am ashamed of my past, I was a self centered airhead in the past, it was always me, me, me and me first, I never saw anyone beyond the surface and regarded people as objects. I know I didn't treat you well in the past as well, and for that I apologize. I am trying to walk away from that life, hence if can I do not want to have association with the past." April explained in all honesty.

With the cyber attack on Lu corporation in addition to Lu family scandal, the shares would drop and Crystal can purchase those shares and turn the company upside down. "Adam!!!! Omg. What are doing here? I was planning to call you as soon as I arrive home. I was delayed earlier because I bumped into someone from the past." her joyous facial expression changed to a unreadable one when she mentioned the past. She rushed towards him full forced and landed in his embrace. She held onto him tightly and savoured every moment. She missed him so much. Jade must be feeling worse than I am because even though I'm apart from Adam, I get to hear his voice and still see him on certain occasions and we still get to meet. It must be tough loving and missing someone and yet you can't get in touch with that person. No wonder Jade went into that state that day.

Crystal was furious with Tom. Tom's defence was it was brought daylight and it was difficult to drag someone against their will. She told him he has to work on it or else she would not want to see him ever. Tom left with a dejected look. Crystal looked at the pictures they managed to capture of Tom and April, somehow her heart was pained by the image but she quickly brushed off those feelings. She sighed and blamed that fleeting moment of emotions on her anger because of incompetence. Tom on the other hand was frustrated. He left the place and walked away. He knew her people was following him and he could never really escape. He just needed some moment of quiet for him to ponder and deliberate on his next move.
