Jade decided to go to the hospital rooftop. She loves high places because she can look down and mock the tiny world below her. The people surrounding her always act tough and tall yet inside they are tiny creatures that lack self confidence, small minded and petty. She took off her black heels and climbed up the parapet of the roof. She then just stood there with both arms stretched out enjoying the night view and scenery. Tears kept pouring down like a leaking tap. In her mind, the words "If only... if only, mama did not have high hopes. If only mama allow me to follow. I really don't have the will to continue. Mama, please give me strength to go on without you." Jade's heart was lamenting. Suddenly a strong wind blew past her slim body causing her to shivered and causing her to lose her footing. Panic and fear flashes through her eyes. She tried to her best to lean in to regain her footing but it seems useless. Since this death is inevitable, she decided to close her eyes preparing herself for the fall and the pain but at the same time she was profusely apologizing to Mama Lu because she is unable to fulfill her promises. Instead of falling, she felt a strong tugged and fell into a warm embrace instead. Did I die? Is this heaven? Heaven smells clean?, she thought. Her intelligent brain started processing all the information and she came to a conclusion she was saved by a man. Her eyes fluttered a few times before opening them. A face was at a very close distance to hers. Even in the dimmed light that person's features were sharp and clean. He had thick eye brows, almond shape eyes, high bridge nose and a thick sexy lips. His facial expression was unreadable. "Are you the angel of death?" the words just loosely slipped out of her mouth. His lips suddenly curved upwards revealing a dashing smile. The warmth radiating from his body starts to envelope her causing her to blush. The wind was chilly because it is late autumn and winter is just around the corner. She shivered whenever she felt the cold air lingering on her skin. She snuggled closer to him shamelessly to steal more of his warmth. Jade is always the type that did as she pleased and does not really care if it is socially acceptable or not. Tonight, she is too tired to crack her brain regarding social ethics and etiquettes. "You smell good and you feel warm. Can we stay like this for a moment? I had a rough day today. Thanks for saving my life. I would want to leave this world but by doing that I would disappoint my Mama." Jade sigh as she buried her face deeper into his chest and curl up like a lost kitten.

He was speechless with her honesty and was more puzzled by his actions towards her. He never like being close to the opposite sex. The ones in his circle are too pretentious, plastic and reek with perfume. He hated close contact or intimacy after what happened 20 years ago. If the event that took place 20 years ago did not occur he may not have this cold personality. He was bubbly, fun, friendly, easy going and a little mischievous but those traits vanished 20 years ago and his personality took a 180 degrees change. The incident 20 years ago is a taboo topic and those who dare to speak about it always ended up with some misfortune.

He stared down the woman in his arms. Her breathing was even and her eyes were shut. He continue to admire her beauty upclose. Her eyelashes are long and curved upwards. Her nose is thin with high bridge, her lips are full and sensual. He traced the visible marks at the side of her swollen left cheek with his long and slender fingers. His heart aches for this mysterious woman. For the first time, he could not understand his own emotions and felt helpless. Did she fall asleep? he thought. He took out his phone and made some arrangements. He then carried her princess style to one of the VIP suite, he placed her on the bed and covered her with the blanket. He ordered a newly boiled egg to reduce the swelling on her cheek. He was satisfied that the swelling had reduced and was about to leave when he heard her whimpering. "Mama, no one is going to love me now that you are gone" Tears once again flowed down her exquisite face. "No.. no.. no.. I am no demon or demoness, why don't you love me too?"

He sigh to himself. He tapped on her shoulder a few times to wake her up. Finally, her eyes flew open. She was startled, confused and then the haziness in her eyes disappear followed by her calm expression. "You were dreaming" he said. "Oh. Where am I?" "One of the South Wing VIP suite of this hospital. Your grandma was in the North Wing." "Oh"

Suddenly there was an awkward silence between them. She walked to the balcony and just stared out into the nothingness of the night. "I lost my someone too years ago and I know how you felt. I am sorry for your loss" he said sincerely. "Mm. Thanks." He looked at his watch and realised that he had overspend his time here. He said a formal goodbye and left. "I didn't even get your name" "We will definitely meet again" These were the thoughts that went through their head respectively when he departed. Jade just stared at his departing back. This is the second time in her life she felt a connection to another soul other than Mama Lu. Mama, did you send someone to guard me like you did? If yes, thank you.
