CHAPTER 3: BACON EGG

Now that it's decided, let's see if I can really exchange items through the points. I'm also curious on how I can earn points but since I'm the type 'who tries/acts first'..."What should it? What should I cook?

In front of the liquid like thing, I tilted my head and checked the things there. Well to be honest I just had my breakfast so I'm not that hungry yet. The dining area that was prepared is besides my room so if it's done I just have to go there.

My breakfast was a hard bread and cold vegetable soup. The taste was normal, I'm not really in a position to complain but I was hoping it was still hot and freshly made when I eat it.

"Ah! That's right! Bacon Egg"

The menu I was thinking of making for dinner, just before I got summoned

As expected there's no more space in my stomach for a croissant but if it's something like bacon egg then I can still eat it.

Even though its a mini kitchen it's something I can easily cook and there's not much ingredients needed. It's just right for my first time.

"Alright, now what I need to exchange is an egg, bacon, salt... ... a fry pan, cooking chopsticks."

Since it's a mini kitchen with nothing else, aside from the ingredients I also needed to exchange the utensils and seasonings.

To exchange egg and Bacon is 10 pts. Salt and serving chopsticks is 5 pts.

For a frying pan, what I need is a normal frying pan around 26cm and with the lid is a bit expensive. It costs 50 pts to exchange it.

"... ... should I get a smaller one"

For a sunny side up, the smaller one is around 20 cm, even omelettes a smaller one is also okay.

So for a smaller one the points needed is...30 pts.

"No...well...for one fry pan. It's better if its a bigger one"

Well I do want a small frying pan but as expected for the first frying pan, it is better if its bigger. I can also make some stir-fry with it, hamburger, and with gyoza...I can fry a lot in one pan.

And from here on, I don't know how much Kitchen points I can amass. So even if I can't get a pot, if I choose a big one I can still make some boiled vegetables, soup and stuff.

"That's why this is fine"

As I tapped on the liquid like thing, I started choosing the items I want to exchange with and with that the words, "the exchange is over" appeared, while shining.

"Oh...it got bigger"

And when I turned around, the cooking space got bigger and there was a small light on top of the frying pan, and some cooking space for the egg and bacon, salt and cooking chopsticks.

"A...this is the usual one"

In my former world, this was the product I bought. Or rather it is the exact package so I know what this is.

I'm not really sure how this works but I'm thankful. Since it is my skill, the things that appear are the ones that I am used to using.

There were 10 eggs, 3 packs of a 4pcs bacon bundled by a tape and a 500 gram seawater salt.

"... ... Oh no. I needed something like a scissor or knife"

I can't cut the salt pack.

I realised there are some thing I still needed, after finishing the exchange. So once again I went over the liquid like thing and checked the needed points for an exchange for a scissor or a knife.

"As expected...it should be the knife"

Thinking about things from here on, knife is what I'll be needing the most. With the knife I can open the salt pack, and within the knives the best is and something that, I would like is the santoku knife...but then again.

"A...it's not enough."

According to the liquid like thing I need 30 pts for a santoku knife. Well originally, I only have 100 pts  and I exchanged all sorts of stuff and so I only have 20 pts left.

"With 20 pts I can only get a petite knife...oh wait the preparation items (towels, soap, clipper) might be better."

With only a little bit of points left, I need to choose something that I can use for a long time and so after hesitating for a bit I picked the one I needed.

"Un...Its this one."

Once I touched the touch panel, "The Exchange is Over" appeared and the kitchen shined brightly again.

And so on top of the cooking space there was a bag of clip, towels(rags), soap and dishwashing soap appeared.

"Salt is something we hold in our hands!"

It can't be helped. Because the clip, rags, hand soap exchange is around 5 points each, so now I only have 5 pts remaining.

I'll just have to destroy the bag of salt with hand by stretching it though it will hurt my finger, I'll have to bear it.

It really can't be helped, since I wanted to seal up the packages after using it, I also need the rags to clean the salt pack and I also want to wash my hands!

"Yosh! Let's make it!"

First, I need to thoroughly wash my hands and then also the fry pan.

Since the rags has 5 pcs in one set, I used one to wipe my hands and another one for the frying pan and another one is a dish rag and the rest will be use for later.

After drying the fry pan, I used the electric heat and opened it and then placed the fry pan to warm it up.

... ... and since the fire power for the dennetsuki (T/n picture will be down below) is weak it will take some time.

So while waiting for the frying pan to warm up, I placed the remaining egg and bacon inside the refrigerator. And using my hands I tore the bag of salt with quite a lot of strength.

When the bag of salt, tore a bit I used my fingers to widen the hole... ...
... ... I want some scissors.

I want to hurry up and amass points

"It warmed up"

So while I was opening the salt, the fry pan is all warm and ready and with that I took a pack of bacon and put one after the other. As I placed it on top of the frying pan, the bacon's oil itself comes out that's why there's no need to put an oil before.

"Ah, I also want that. The one placed on top of the bacon"

It's called bacon press.

Bacon press is place on top of a bacon being fried, by putting something heavy on top the bacon, it will stick much more to the fry pan and by using it we can make a crunchier bacon. And using it on the chicken skin will also make it crispier.

I definitely want to try it! But, right now I don't have much points. One day, once I amassed some points I'll definitely get one!

"N...here we go!"

Right now I don't have a bacon press or something heavy to put over it, but as I flip over the bacon the sizzling sound comes out. As the oil seeps out little by little, the bacon starts to turn into a crispy brown and after flipping over the four bacon strips, I'll put some eggs over.

The egg whites spreads over the bacon with the egg spreading on top of the bacon and as if it's excited the egg yolk bubbling up is kinda cute.

As the egg whites were forced out of the bacon, in no time at all the egg whites started to solidify as it hits the heated frying pan. As the egg yolk whitens up a bit, I put a pinch of salt and at last I sprinkle salt all over.

"Now, it's time for water"

After seasoning it then it is time to steam it.

Originally I'll use a cup, and pour a cup of water to the frying pan. Right now I don't have it so I'll use the lid of the fry pan and put in an appropriate quantity and carefully pour it over.

... ...this is deplorable. Well what I don't have is what I don't have.

And then, So that I wouldn't spill it, I slowly had the water slip into the frying pan.

Slowly crackling sound appears and all of a sudden steam appears and the oil jumps over. (T/n: has anyone tried cooking? And if you spill just a teeny weeny water into a hot oil it'll start to attack you like a b!tch.)

And as if to calm it down, I'll have to immediately put a lid over it. Then the covered up sound started going 'pachi pachi, jutu jutu-tto' inside the fry pan as if its dancing.

This jumping like sounds... ... is nice, isn't it? (T/n: Oh hell--no. I've been cooking but I still find it scary af)

It really feels like I'm cooking.

Once the sound started to quiet down. Once it started sounding like 'gutsugutsu' and when most of the water has evaporate already then it will be the perfect timing to remove the lid ――

"Un! It looks delicious!"

 ―― It's a freshly cooked bacon egg.

The white part has properly solidify, and when it hits over the light it looks so glossy. And under that transparent like whiteness, there's that gooey egg yolk. (T/n: it looks like the ones in eggs benedict)

The aroma of the bacon under the sunny-side up is  the best ... ...!

As long as you can overcome the part where you pour the water and the oil jumps around, even an elementary student can do this. Anyways, it's been awhile since I've seen a freshly cooked, piping hot dish and it looks so delicious... ... .

Then all of a sudden, even though I didn't start up the liquid crystal, the surrounding area suddenly lightens up and then on top of the food preparation table, a white plate and fork appeared

"Wow! This...is it really okay to use this?"

Definitely a good timing.

Well to be honest if I wasn't able to exchange a plate, chopsticks or fork, I plan on slowly eating it on the fry pan.

Un. Definitely not something I can let others see.

But well since I'm the only one here. What I don't have is what I don't have. So I plan to eat it with my left hand on the frying pan and the cooking chopsticks on my left.

However, seeing as there's a plate and a fork that appeared. I haven't tried much so I'm not sure but if I can make a dish, a plate and cutlery will appear or something. If that's really the case then that's something to be extremely grateful off.

And with that, I slowly slid over the bacon egg on top of the white plate and if I can add a salad and croissant then it would definitely be the meal I was planning on eating before I got dragged into the summoning.

It felt like it happened a long time ago and even though it's just bacon egg, I'm kinda moved.

"... ... It's ready to eat"

When I was about to be swallowed up by sadness what help me back to my feet and for me to find my own cheerful voice.

And then everything around me brightens up

"Wa.... ...."

With a plate of bacon egg on my left hand and a fork on my right. It might have been because of what I said, I'm not sure though but it seems like my body got warped out of the kitchen.

"Isarai-sama!?"

"a... ...."

And there looking at me with a scary face is the knight who is guarding me.

T/n: FINALLY CAUGHT UP with the chapter 1 of the manga. *YAY* Though really I feel so sad with the KyoAni fire. Seriously who ever did that should rot in jail forever! KyoAni, even though they're composed of a small team, they're one of the rare anime productions that gives credit where the credit is due to their employees. From what I've heard many people are injured and some have died. They have given us a lot of beautiful and amazing animations and works like K-On, Kyoukai no Kanata, Free!, Violet Evergarden, Tsurune, Koe-no Katachi and many more. Okay my rant is over...UnU
