Though there are some brave hearts who won the bet and got earned their fortune by keeping their life on the line, they are too few and rare. Even those people didn't get to know any deep secrets and they are certainly not willing to try.
The Death Qi here is very dense. Sheng Tian felt his scalp tingle. For he was never a fan of Horror Movies or Ghost Stories. In fact, due to a trauma in childhood, he avoided all such content. But he never would have thought that he would have to go 'live action' in a real horror setting.
The valley had mountains surrounding it in a 'V' shape, with vegetation either side. There are a lot of plants and trees which looked pretty normal for this abnormal place. There seemed to be no Xuan Beasts at first sight but everyone knew better that there is more than what meets the eye.
Yin Death Grass is said to be a herb grown from Death Qi. For the places where Death Qi is high, they could only bet their options on known places of the Forbidden Lands.
The group of ten men and two women didn't hesitate as they stepped into the valley. But as soon as they did, a feeling of death crawled up in their hearts. But they hardened their resolve and increased their alertness as they began to search for the herb.
Sheng Tian spoke in his mind " Can you start the search?"
Xiao Lian sighed softly as she said in her charming voice "You are so lazy. Can't you at least try searching for it? Thank god, I'm not your host or else you would shamelessly make me your servant to do all the work." disdain and astonishment mixed in her tone.
"*Cough* *Cough*, This is not called Laziness, I'm doing the work in the most efficient way so as to save time, energy and some brain cells. I am someone who never backs away from hard work" 'though I will just put someone in front of me to do that work for me' he added in his heart as he righteously defended his integrity.
Xiao Lian felt defeated. She didn't argue about his character. There is no doubt about his character in her heart at all.
Shameless. Lazy. Narcissist. This is her conclusion after them living together even though the time is not long.
But now she could only let things be and use her divine sense. At her current condition, she used it rarely and the range is also not at its peak. It only covers some kilometers now. But before they started the search, Qin Qing handed them white pills with the size of half thumb. She explained, " After taking these pills, any Xuan Beast below Sky Profound Realm won't bother us. But this pill effect lasts only for one day. And I don't have so many pills. So, we better hurry up."
This pill is very convenient. As any beast under Sky Realm doesn't disturb them unless they go provoke it, it saves a lot of trouble. But if a Xuan Beast in Sky Realm or above came knocking, having the pill or not wouldn't make any difference.
They all used their movement skills combined with Spirit Sense to check out the whole area but to no avail. The Xuan Beasts dwelling in the caves or hiding underground or sleeping on the trees didn't bother them at all. This made things easy.
Sheng Tian too acted like he was searching but he knew they would only be wasting time here. Though he didn't mind collecting some precious herbs, the problem is he didn't see any precious herbs here. And then he suddenly remembered an old saying in a book he read in the library of the sect that treasures won't fall without dangers.
After two hours, the groups met as planned and they set out to the next spot. After arriving there, they split up once again.
Sheng Tian left in his assigned direction. After he was seperated from the group and started screwing around, the ground suddenly shook. It was like it was something incomparably heavy fell down.
Sheng Tian was about to ask Xiao Lian to check it up when she screamed in his head " Quick. Get out of here. Don't ask anything now."
Sheng Tian didn't question her, he turned towards the direction they came in and used his movement arts to reach an astonishing speed. He didn't even have time for himself, let alone others. They are separated by a large distance anyways. With the ground shaking and seeing him escape, they should be able to pick the hint and run away too.

At a speed incomparable to anything he saw before, Sheng Tian's eyes caught a huge figure crashing beside him and following it was another giant figure. As he turned to change the direction, It forcefully hit the ground, the debris itself was enough to bury him. As the wind blew uncontrollably, he protected his body and quickly moved.
The body of the creature could be seen if he just turned his head. Through the corner of his eye, he caught the outline of its huge body. It had two hands which are at least 40 feet long. What the...? As its size and structure gave a huge shock to Sheng Tian, the battle between titans didn't stop.
The next attack, however, made Sheng Tian want to cry yet have no tears. The other creature's attack just arrived as Space itself tore open as the Area ahead of Sheng Tian was cracked as void appeared. Having no time to escape, he was sucked into the Space Crack.
However, just before he entered it, A Pinkish White Light covered him. Sheng Tian's mind, however, was exceptionally active at this moment as he cried out in his heart ' I am not a cannon fodder. I am the MC dammit.'
