Year 6969 of the Philippine Calendar.

A single empire reigned over everything on the Philippine Continent, the Empire of Blackmoon. In the Crimson Cebu Province, daybreak dawned and commotion soon enveloped the entire Province.

On the City of Lapu-Lapu where the famous Royal Road of Heroes was located. A bustling community filled with merchants could be seen. The Royal Road of Heroes attracted all sorts of cultivators, merchants and prospective tourists from all over the continent.

In other words, this place was the center of commerce for the entire province.

Luxurious carriages could be seen everywhere and exquisite sedan chairs came after one another.

Some people rode towering horses into the city, some held their heads high while some sat near the edges of the Royal Road, begging for some coins.

"Come here and visit my stall! I can predict the future and even change it for you!"

"There's no use of Spiritual Energy here, no sleight of hands, just pure magic!"

Stall owners jubilantly shouted, attracting numerous heads over their stalls. One of them was Jiang Tian, a young man covered with bandages all over his body, sitting under the fierce heat of the sun, His emaciated figure due to lack of nutrition looked pitiful and miserable.

When he arrived in this foreign place several weeks ago. The lack of identity documents and money along with his strange, delicate clothes attracted the noses of bandits that stole everything that he had from him.

Ever since that time, Jiang Tian became wary of everyone around him. He knew from that time that the people in this world only cared for themselves. Those disdaining eyes of them that looked at him like he was trash made him determined to make a name for himself.

Though he didn't know why he transmigrated at this place. There was only one thing that he was sure of.

And that was.

He was now in a world of mysteries, cultivators, flying swords and earth-shattering beauties like those favorite novels of his depicted! How could he remain mediocre and not rise to the peak?!

Unfortunately, the reality was harsh and Jiang Tian was battered with problems.

According to the novels that he read, in this world, one needs strength, wealth, backing and reputation!

Jiang Tian was merely a mortal alien that didn't have any strength, backing, and reputation.

However, the heavens were merciful and bestowed a heaven-defying system upon the poor Jiang Tian.

The Enhancement System where he can enhance everything from clothes, rocks, and weapons! Using the Enhancement System, Jiang Tian set up his own stall near the Royal Road. Unfortunately, his bold claim of "Doubling the effects of weapons" didn't attract any customers. Instead, what he attracted were disdaining gazes from the crowd.

"This can't go on...I need something...Someone that can become a guinea pig so that I can show off my skills!" One of the reasons why Jiang Tian wanted to become as famous as possible was to attract those influences that governed over the City.

Why?

That's because he wanted to be recruited!

Being recruited into one of those clans would complete his checklist of having wealth, backing and reputation!

Jiang Tian wasn't so foolish to believe that he could surpass everything on his own. Unlike those virtual reality games that he played, once he died in this world, everything would be over. He wasn't so retarded as to gamble with his life.

The stall where he sat before had a signage written with a bright red marker.

[Doubling the effect of any items! As long as the customer can provide the necessary materials for the Enhancement! Guaranteed Success! If I fail, I will cripple myself!]

His bold claims and the desperate words in his signage along with his bedraggled and wretched appearance turned off any customers. It has to be known that once an enhancement fails, the enhanced item would disappear. Jiang Tian's life was nothing compared to their precious weapons, who would dare to have their weapons enhanced by him?!

Sighing in his heart, the shock of his sudden arrival in this unfamiliar world was something that he hasn't overcome yet. However, adapting was something that he was good at, as long as he could finish his primary goal, dealing with his shock would come later.

"Damn it...If I had my voice, I would've acted as shamelessly as these bastards." Jiang Tian rubbed his aching neck, he suffered injuries to his vocal cords after he was beaten up by those thieves.

Staring at the skies, Jiang Tian wondered about when he could take a step forward in his plan. Sweeping his gaze back at the highway. Curiosity filled Jiang Tian's eyes when he saw that everyone near the highway stepped to the side.

All of them stared at a luxurious carriage surrounded by cultivators that acted as bodyguards. Even the coachman that looked like an amiable old man emanated an air of dominance which assaulted Jiang Tian's mind.

"A cultivator!"

Jiang Tian exclaimed in his heart, he longed to be a cultivator and seeing one made him inspired to continue his job.

The fiery robes of everyone near the carriage held the emblem of the Stellar Academy. Mortals and cultivators alike humbled themselves before these people. The entourage stopped at the side of the road and what came out of the carriage was a young woman whose visual appearance looked to be at her middle teenage years.

Her countenance, figure, and disposition attracted gazes, but the most remarkable feature that she had was her silver-hair that flowed like mercury until her waist. Everyone fell into a trance, but Jiang Tian snapped out of it, what use was looks if you don't have strength and wealth? As the famous dark crow had said, "Everyone is the same beneath the skin." He wasn't so bothered about beauties.

Beside the young beauty was a middle-aged man clad in light-blue robes made with exquisite materials. His dignified stature and the look of wisdom within his eyes hinted at his age.

"Yue'er, are you sure that you want to stop here? I don't think that there's anything here that will suit you more than what we have at home..." The middle-aged man spoke in a soft tone, contrary to what one would expect from someone of his position.

"Father, we indeed have everything at home but it's necessary that we learn more about mortals and interact with them, perhaps I can find my inspiration in this place and break through the Foundation Establishment Realm." The young woman replied with a small smile on her face. The soft sword on her waist clanged as she skipped and hopped towards the nearest stall.

The middle-aged man wearily sighed and followed her from behind. His walking pattern looked eccentric and he would intermittently glance at the crowd and warned them with his eyes.

Meanwhile, Jiang Tian kept his silence and crossed his arms together, his eyes focused at the sword on the young woman's waist.

After a moment of skimming through the stalls. The young woman's eyes landed on Jiang Tian's stall as the commoners around her warned.

"Young Mistress, don't go near him. We heard that he's someone that didn't have any identity documents and he's most likely an alien from the distant Empire of Cloud!"

"Indeed, Young Mistress, look at his appearance and the desperate words in his signage! He's not someone that a person with your status should mingle with..."

The young woman knitted her eyebrows in a frown. She stared at Jiang Tian's figure and saw that even though the latter stared right into her eyes, he looked disinterested and unconcerned.

'So there's someone out there that can withstand the temptations of my looks? Interesting...' She thought in her mind and approached Jiang Tian's stall. The middle-aged man followed suit and said, "Yue'er, what are you going to do with that guy? Look at his appearance, he's more suitable as a beggar than an Articifer!"

Articifer was a respected line of work, each and everyone in this Continent of Philippine aspired to be one of them! After all, it was a lucrative job of weapons and armor creation.

"Doubling the effects of items and weapons? How stupid! Even the Artificers of our clan cannot do such a thing! Yue'er, this man is definitely a swindler!" The middle-aged man warned and glared at Jiang Tian who merely shrugged in return.

"Senior, all kinds of mysteries exist under the heavens, just because you haven't witnessed someone successfully doubling the effects of an item doesn't mean that no one can do it..." Jiang Tian lifted his head and said with a raspy and hoarse voice his jet-black eyes stared right into the middle-aged man's eyes.

The middle-aged man was taken aback for a moment, cultivators had heightened sense and hearing what the young man said wasn't a problem, the problem was, it was the first time that someone dared to talk back to him. And it was a beggar looking young man at that!

If not for the fact that his daughter was with him and he needed to keep his image, he would've already turned Jiang Tian into minced meat.

"Interesting, everyone in this City is so respectful towards father that they won't even dare to raise their head before him, so it's the first time that I saw someone talking back to him, are you sure that you're not afraid of the repercussions or you're just being stupid?" The young woman lifted an amused smile, taking off her soft sword, she placed it on Jiang Tian's stall and said.

"If you can double the effects of this weapon, I will reward you greatly, but if you break this weapon of mine, then forget about living to see the next day..." She spat these chilling words with her eyes dangerously narrowed.

Jiang Tian lifted a small smile on his face. The opportunity that he patiently waited for these several days, has finally arrived!
