This time I wake up in a big castle, in a body of a four years old boy named Alder. So, I suppose this one is my body's real owner. No wonder name Alder felt so right.
Alder is oldest son of a baron in a kingdom called Ertor. Kingdom spanning over thousands of kilometer and with hundreds of dukedom. And his father Aldin is newly appointed baron who managed to earn nobility with his meritorious deeds during last war.
Unfortunately, even though Alder was Aldin's youngest son he didn't get his father's prowess in battle. And that disappointed his father immensely. And his mother died during childbirth. His father remarried when he was five years old.
And after ten more months his baby brother was born. And unlike him his baby brother was a in a few words was born to be a warrior just like his father. His body potential was ranked A-. Which was a rank high enough to be considered genius.
After knowing that his youngest was a genius his father started to neglect Alder. And after that his stepmother's real face emerged. In front of his father she may act nice to Alder but as time passed, she started to hate Alder. Believing that her son was rightful heir to their barony.
But law was that only oldest son can inherit the father's title. Even then his father didn't hate Alder but he didn't show love to him either.
As he grew lonely Alder started trying to earn his father's love by being good at something else too. Thus, he started to study to become a wizard.
But fortune wasn't on his side too. Even though his Soul Root was C+ ranked his control was atrocious. Even after trying for almost six months he still failed to convert Pure Energy into mana.
And after that his father's disappointment only increase and he distanced himself from alder even more as he only focused on his youngest son.
And week after his seventh birthday Alder's stepmother asked him to go to the market with her. Even though Alder was reluctant he had no other choice since his father ordered him to go with her.
As he was following his stepmother to the market two strange men suddenly pulled a knife on him and forced him to follow them. As he tried to call for his stepmother he saw that his stepmother was one who orchestrated the whole thing.
After that his stepmother led them outside the barony and brought him into the nearby forest and cornered him on a high cliff with no known bottom. Nobody knew where that hole led to. Whatever fell never came back that was for sure.
Two men took off the gag in his mouth after bringing him before the black hole.
"What are you trying to do mother?"
"I'm going to kill you."
Woman told Alder with emotionless face and monotone voice.
"Why?"
"Because you are a trash that is getting in my son's way."
"If you kill me father will know about it!"
"Do you think I would do it without your father's consent? Even though I proposed this idea, it was your father who approved it."
At that moment Alder's world crumbled. But unexpectedly he didn't cry or beg for mercy he simply jumped into the hole by himself.
There was no thought and no emotion in his head as he fell into his death. Surprisingly there was only curiosity about where this black hole led to.
But there was no bottom even after he fell for almost an hour and only after falling for two hour does he see something else.
It was a pitch-black swirling tornado at the bottom. And as he got close to it, it simply sucked him inside. After getting sucked inside the tornado Alder felt nothing. There was only darkness. And after few minutes of continuous falling he suddenly started to feel the pain.
Pain that seems to come from his very essence. It felt like something was ripping his soul apart. But for some reason he simply clenched his teeth and endured that pain. As time passed, he got used to the pain.
And finally, only after who knows how long, did he finally feel something tug at his body as he felt himself being thrown out from something.
As he opened his, he felt enormous fatigue in his very core. As if his very life was dissipating. And just as his soul was about to dissipate something else, something foreign barged into his soul.
But even after that, that foreign soul simply tried to invade his consciousness and takeover his mind. But as both souls were struggling earth shaking loud roar sound from who knows where and both souls got wiped. Losing little consciousness they had.
After that I woke up in my Soul Palace.
So, this is what happened, huh. This is how I came to be. Apparently, I'm neither Alex nor Alder. After failing his experiment at breathing through the dimensional wall Alex's soul was sucked into this world through the little crack he managed to create.
As for Alder after falling into the black hole and enduring its torture for long enough he somehow ended up in this forest's inner region.
And by some infinitesimally small chance Alex's soul invaded Alder's body and while they were fighting over dominance something roared and that roar wiped out Alex and Alder's consciousness'.
After losing their consciousness their soul merged and from that unity I came to be.
I'm nor Alex neither Alder.
I'm something else entirely.
No wonder I'm so indifferent to almost everything. Considering everything those two went through. Poor guys. But none of that matters now.
I got no obligation to do anything about their passed life.
In this life I got only one goal. That is to stand on the top. Only then can I live my life the way I want to.
