His body was scented with the refreshing smell of aftershave. When he closed in on her, she could smell the minty flavor of the toothpaste.

“Since you are my wife, it’s just a matter of course for me to give it to you. I like the feeling of being controlled by you,” Qi Chengzhi’s gaze was so tender that Song Yu felt a little embarrassed.
Song Yu laughed and hugged his neck, “That means in this lifetime, you won’t dare to betray me? If you dare, I’ll wipe out your assets.”

“Mum, are you guys okay. Did they bother you guys?” Song Yu asked.
“We’re fine. Why would we be angry when they come to return us money?” Yu Qianying did not mention the fight in the afternoon as she did not want to worry Song Yu. “However, if they thought that this would make us forgive them and get onto Qi Chengzhi’s good side, they are very wrong. I accepted the money confidently because that was ours to start with. There’s nothing embarrassing about that and we don’t owe them anything. We won’t make amends with them just because we accepted the money. Song Yu, you don’t have to worry about this. I’ve never thought of forgiving that shameless bunch anyway.”
“I know,” Song Yu nodded, “but why you gave me the money? Isn’t it better if you guys kept it for yourselves?”
“This is your dowry from us,” Yu Qianying said. She cut off Song Yu right after she called out “mum”, “Don’t reject this in such a hurry. We were already worried about how much dowry we should give you so that it’ll be presentable. If we give you all of our savings, the amount would be so insignificant that others may not even bother. That’ll make us seem stingy instead.

Then, the elevator door opened. There was already a crowd gathering at the entrance of the elevator, most of them were her colleagues from different departments. Song Yu did not want to be a joke in front of all these people. She passed by Liang Lihua to enter the elevator, but Liang Lihua blocked her path once again.
She bowed and thanked her, “Thank you, thank you. I know that you’re a generous person. Song Yu, since you’ve forgiven me, can Qi Chengzhi let out company go?”
Song Yu was still guessing why Liang Lihua suddenly came crying to apologize. If she wanted to please her, why would she humiliate her and pull her hair the last time they met?
