“Don’t open the door!” Speaking in an anxious tone, Song Yu repeated, “Don’t open the door. I… have something to tell you. Let’s just do this with the door between us. If I were to say it face to face, I would have lost the courage.”
She could feel the resistance loosen. The person on the other side had stopped attempting to open the door. She relaxed and put both her hands on the door. She rested her forehead on the cold wooden door, lowered her head, and stared at the doorknob unconsciously.
